THROUGH THE EYES OF A MERMAID
BY FIONA CUMMINGS
This is my world
A bay of gold
An ocean of sapphires
Beautiful voices
From the silver choirs
Warmth of love
Given by the sun’s fires
The stars above
Formations of sparkles
Like tiny parcels
Gifts to us all
Chrystal’s fall
Raindrops from heavens streams
Sleeping through peaceful dreams
Waking to the sounds of sea birds
Swishing white waves
Seaman’s graves
A warm rock where I have been lying
In my slumber I was flying
To my bath of salt I shall go
Where the tap is a constant flow
Dolphins put on a show
Sea lions are on parade
Such is life for a mermaid
