THE CHRISTMAS FILE PART 1

Unseasonable temperatures cause daffodils to grow in England one week before Christmas. They don’t normally pop their beautiful heads up till spring. Tomorrow in parts of England we are expected to have temperatures reaching 17 C I think that is about 55 F? Too mild for this time of year, that is for sure. I just hope the wildlife is going to be OK.

The media are calling tomorrow Panick Saturday. I mean, does everything have to have a label? If it is all over the press its panic Saturday, does this not have a negative effect on the readers, something telling their brain, if they are not in a panic, they should be?

Airports are warning against people taking wrapped gifts on-board. Among terrorists threats they will be opened and searched or removed.

So take your gifts and wrapt them when you get there. Don’t forget the sticky tape and scissors, though they will have to be put in your case, oppose to in your flight bag.

Now for meat eaters, here’s a great job. Scientists have been testing out leftover turkey, and tried to find the most perfect turkey sandwich. So whilst gobbling up the food, how did they come to their conclusion?

Boffin’s, butties were all lovely but the most perfect sandwich was. 25 per cent turkey. 19 per cent stuffing, 14 per cent cranberry sauce, 18 per cent butter, 6 per cent bacon and topped with mayo.  All served on granary bread.

The perfect combination is colour, taste and aroma. Turkey gives you excellent lean source of protein that can lift your mood, whereas cranberries   are full of antioxidants. The bacon has protein and vitamin B.  The sage in the stuffing is a memory booster. May be a good thing if you have drunk too much on a night out, and you need to remember how to get home?

Now then, the ultimate battle of Christmas is an annual event some people dread. I’m not talking about the in laws, but Christmas tree’s v your cats. Ha. I bet those Bloggets with feline fluffy friends have some funny stories?

So, the Christmas lights are on our tree, going out now to turn outside on and the mantelpiece is all a light as the sky has closed all light and the darkness allows fairy lights to shine. In preparation for the longest night is not far now, I think it’s the 21st?

I’m off to cook dinner as Hub continues to watch TV. He spent the morning making me homemade soup. It smells delicious. They are getting day two of roast beef as I hear Christmas organ music shouting from our TV. All the Christmas tunes are playing. It’s a program Hub loves on organs. No, no, not open heart surgery but organs that plays music. So until later Bloggets, with love.
