BEST POEM OF THE YEAR VOTED BY PORTUGAL

NO LONGER A BLUR

BY FIONA CUMMINGS

The day has eyes the night has ears.

Without the day

We live through fears

Will the night ever go away?

The sun does shine

From dull clouds fall tears

Will we ever learn?

Too long and burn

Allow raindrops to waste

Set free the kept

And they will give chase

Too far to the right

Away from the left

Our journey in the wrong direction

Spend until we have such a collection

A must

Just to house, dust

Believe in those we don’t really know

Such trust

We think there is calm

Then the wind comes

Such a gust

On the ground is snow

Look down below

Don’t slip

Or trip

Rely on yourself

Pick a book from the shelf

Flick the pages

Read about the courageous

Then look at your face in the mirror

The lights are not showing red or amber

But green to go

So why so slow?

When your mind is telling you about the water flow

Float your boat

Hang up your coat

Kick off your shoes

Sing of cheer not the blues

Listen to your heart

Can you hear the rhythm?

Go to that old oak

Tie your yellow ribbon

You’re free now

Don’t ask why or how

Just run with the wind

Love deep within

Carry your soul

Over hot coal

Don’t feel the pain

Come back again

When you have been set free

Stories to tell people like me

About what you can hear and see

Wishes

Kisses

A Miss to a Mrs

A Laird to a sir

Dreams are reality

No longer a blur
