PLEASE BE A FRIEND
BY FIONA CUMMINGS
Buttercup smiles
Sunflowers go for miles
Bluebell bunches
Tulip trumpets
Pretty posies
Ruby roses
Orange tiger lilies
Bumble bees
Bowing trees
Grow to please
The sun looks for the flowers
With its mighty powers
Friendly blossoms are sociable
Peeping from the undergrowth
At angles almost impossible
Just to kiss the smiling sun
A neighbour comes along
A cloud which really does belong
As rain they need
To drink and feed
To stay alive
They need the skies
It’s simple
No need to ask how’s and why’s
Our flowers will be a cripple
If not for the warm
and wet weather
Nature I hope will last forever
If not for man
Who is on earth
To kill what’s good
End all birth
For what reasons
I’m not sure
But we have seasons
That is all mixing into one
We need a cure
A world so pure
Back to basics
Close army barracks
Melt our weapons
End all danger
Talk to each other
Finish the anger
I am your sister
You are my brother
He is a father
And her a Mother
The beauty we can’t see the end
So to nature please be a friend
