NOT SO PERFECT PARCELS BY FIONA CUMMINGS

NOT SO PERFECT PARCELS

BY FIONA CUMMINGS

 The tree has lights

In the kitchen there are delights

Outside it snows

The gifts have their bows

Cards with well wishes

The mistletoe has seen kisses

The candles glow

It’s all show

Inside my heart I cry

Hurt for a love that will never be

Dreams of a life I will not see

Say the words

Merry Christmas

And drowned in the past

Nothing good ever lasts

Goodnight all on this Christmas Eve

And turn to look before you leave

Think about the other side

The pain that some may hide

It’s not all a sleigh ride

People have emotions

A bumpy road full of undulations

A mix of relations

No friends to trust

A happy Christmas is not a must

Things can go wrong

Words to a song

May strike a memory

Think of the lonely

Not everyone is feeling homely

I pray for you tonight

May the angels hold you tight
