A NEW DAY BY FIONA CUMMINGS

A NEW DAY

BY FIONA CUMMINGS

To put your trust in someone

Is so very wrong

To place your eggs in one basket

Is like introducing a flame to plastic

In time watch it all go wrong

Realising you didn’t belong

Your time meant nothing to the other

Your words were laughed at so you will discover

Trust no one but yourself

Brush yourself down

Don’t be left on the shelf

Dress up go to town

Rise above that disappointment

Find a cure or some ointment

Learn their tricks

What’s broken will be fixed

And you will learn

That in the end

They for sure were not a friend

And your time they will just lend

Your money they will spend

Your feelings they won’t defend

But move on and find new

Someone who doesn’t lie and cares for you

A person who is so very true

Not two faced

You will learn that the other is a disgrace

And you are better than them

Though you may hurt for a little while

They’re no longer in fashion

The wrong style

Close the door

Throw out their troubles in a pile

It was not you who was wrong

And a new day must go on
