MONDAY BLUE'S

Well, hello, its wild again out there, dangerously wild we are having storms for sure. The noise out there is like broken glass as my wind chimes entertain the avenue of all sorts. Not. I’m just glad my neighbour across the road isn’t working shifts now and needs to sleep during the day as really, it’s like a load of school bells out there.

Waiting anxiously to see if my Son gets to work OK. He will text me when he arrives. A long journey for him. He has a little car I told him that he should drive with care as his car could turn over but you know what kids are like, parents know nothing. Sometimes he takes notice of Hub over me that is fine, as long as he listens to someone. But today, Hub is at work so didn’t get the chance to tell him.

So our weekend of relaxing? Oh my life. No. quite the opposite. Really, I’ve had enough. Hub and I struggled this weekend trying to do sighted things. Paperwork. Impossible. Absolutely awful. We don’t just have a pile, we have volumes. Its paper to us. We don’t have a scanner now so can’t read letters and we have as you know been sorting out our home office and that is another story. I could cry. Later with that.

We have boxes of paperwork we wanted to try to sort out and throw away what we don’t need but how? The very very important things are brailed who is it who says Braille isn’t needed? But to be honest, I would say only ten per cent are Brailed we never managed to get anyone to read the other stuff for us so we have ended up with massive piles of paperwork. Not everything scans. Our scanner has gone to scanner sky so waiting to set up a new one.

Well, I am still waiting for my electrician but I think I have to give up on him. Sad he was a really nice guy I have known for years. Always done me good and me him. But I guess we are small fish now as his company are rather big and get huge jobs. As for our joiner? I thought we found a great guy. He came recommended. Well he was due today. Hmm. He isn’t coming. Asked if he could come next week. Well, that’s just bloody brilliant. He wasn’t even going to tell us, it is only because I called him. I’m so fed up. I really think he just forgot about us and got another job. What was all that writing down when he came? Why even bother? I’m so sick and tired of tradesmen. It’s this area, unless you pay over a thousand pounds, no one wants to work. I hate it. There is so much building up now what we need fixing it’s just painful. You do wonder, start to, believe it’s us? Really, I don’t know why if I did I would change it.

Did I tell you we asked for a quotation for wood floor to be put at the bottom of the stairs to match the adjoining room? Its tiny, it’s in feet 6 X 6 what’s that, two metres by two? Well, less. After three weeks he brought the wood samples. Dropped the planks of wood on the Living room floor porch floor too and it was like he was trying to smash our good wood so we would buy all of it from him. Even though the quality we have in the living room is fantastic. He brought samples that didn’t match but I told him they would do even though two people from his company took pictures. He went away after dropping his samples again on my door step. He called me up with a quote. Ready for this? By the way, it’s not even real wood its laminate.

£445.

He can go and take a long walk off a short cliff. The wood would be about £100 with backing and beading. Even if it was £200, and no way would it the space is so small. £445? Robber. On principle I won’t use that company again. He fit our office carpet and that was £300. It was going to be so much more but I asked if that was the best price so she immediately reduced it to three hundred. Again, if you could see the size of the room? But this is what I mean; you pay huge amounts if you want a job done. We paid £500 for a man to close the gas fire off. I know for a fact it should have been no more than a hundred for that, but at the time we knew no one as we had just moved. So if you are prepared to pay five times over then you may be able to get the work done. This joiner was a good price I was so pleased to have contact with him as he came recommended so he I hoped would be good, hmm. Well if he would turn up.

OK grump over. I promise. Just heard Teen there OK so I can relax till eight tonight as that is when he makes his long journey back. He has to be up at four in the morning as starts at six. And I think it’s like that every day this week. So we are going to have no sleep again as that is the time I normally fall asleep. Haha. Seriously it is.

Wagga and the Little Fella went for a free run yesterday. Oh gosh the sand everywhere when they came back? Our fields are covered in sand to stop them being so wet and it was like a beach in here yesterday. But they had smiles upon their faces.

OK will go for now, next time I may have a completely different blog for you. X
