MR. WOO
BY FIONA CUMMINGS
In painted water, no fish dwell
Embroidered flowers lack in life and smell
The
coins you carry to the gaming room
Are sentence
prisoners hurried to their doom
If you kill a bird by throwing a stone
Those wings shall fly to heaven all alone
If you want to be happy, make the best of difficulties
Just tread with care, stay
clear from injuries
Pitiful tears, he laments in loneliness
Sitting in the coolness of midnight
Penetrating his screen of pure silk
Sipping a warm drink
Giving him chance to think
He turns off the fan with its blade
And lays on his pillow of jade
His dreams begin near peach blossom water
And past nightmares with swords get slaughtered
Tis there where he begins a
journey of a thousand miles
Where strangers greet him with passing smiles
A lonely cloud floats leisurely by
A mountain he tries to climb
He has no idea of the time
Nor does he care
For this is the secret he would like to share
Twenty four hours in a day is the same in every country
No matter when or where
You can’t hurry time nor slow it down
If you do you may disperse
Love is not about possession
Or how much you carry in your purse
It’s all about appreciation
Catch ones
heart
Never be
apart
As he wrests
with chin on cupped hands
Looking to
the Guilin’s mountain
He’s
reminded the water and scenery is the best under heaven
He truly
understands
Dripping water
pierces through a stone
A saw made
from rope cuts through wood
Patience and
persistence can bark through anything
No matter
how great the difficulty
We are
related even if we don’t have the same blood
One best
friend is quality
Better than
fifty friends of quantity
So with
understanding and peace in his heart
He returns
to his home
Selling
Fruit from his cart
In baskets
of bamboo
Just the
mind thoughts and memories from old Mr. Woo
