A NEW WORLD BY FIONA CUMMINGS

A NEW WORLD

BY FIONA CUMMINGS

In a world full of perfection

Where there is so much affection

No such word as rejection

All mistakes are born with correction

And smiles form the sunshine

Tears of joy rain

Its mighty fine

There is no pain

Sharing

Caring

And so much fun

The lame can run

The blind can see

The deaf hear

There is no disability

But we won’t forget

What we have lived through

We won’t regret

Past lives this is true

But this land

Oh this land

A forever helping hand

Music from the rainbow band

Tropical fish in the turquoise pond

We make new friends such a bond

With beautiful trees

We hang our memories

So we never become complacent

Out from our windows we have views

Lakes and oceans such shades of blues

Shrubs adjacent

With fruits so delicious

We look in amazement

It’s almost too precious

Sugar plums

And crisp red apples

Fields with horses white, black, chestnut and dapple

 Forever crumbs

For our tropical birds

Ever green pastures for all of the herds

Ice cream clouds

Flowers stand so proud

Choirs sing allowed

In perfect harmony

One big happy family

War?

Law?

A thing of the past

Because we have learned

No one can score

There are no winners

Evil ends life for all of the killers

If our trees could talk

Say hello

To the weeping willow

Ask why does it bow

I’ve always wondered how

Some trees are small

And others tall

Most grow to the sky

But the willow

Why?

Perhaps it’s blessing the ground

And it’s the willows job to kiss the earth

For the soil has given birth

To the majestic oaks

Cherry and magnolia

So pretty as though bespoke

There is so much hope

In this new land

A new start

A baby lamb

A new born

Nothing breaks

Nothing gets torn

We appreciate everything though

Because those who will travel to the new land

Come from hardship

It’s been a long trip

But worth while

The golden mile

The silver path

A chuckle and a hearty laugh

A frog on a fence

Makes a comical croak

White eggs from the red hens

Pink pigs in their pens

Waddling penguins

And polar bears

Christmas icicles

Shiny new bicycles

 Autumn leaves

Our dreams we can believe

Anything can be achieved

What a wonderful world we could have

Full of love

Cosy comfortable like hand to glove

You know we don’t have to search for this place

We could have it right here

If we weren’t such a disgrace

And had to live through fear

Faults of others

Whose criminal desires

Are to live in hell

The dust they like to smell

And the fresh blood

  Rather than a rosebud

And all that’s good

I wish we could have a land

Full of golden sand

And fields of corn

To give hope to the new born

To have scope for all of us

Without fuss

This can be

Just learn to respect the world

That has been given to you and me
