What is your dream of Christmas? Your ideal image of the
Seasonal month! Your hopes and dreams? How do you feel at this time of year? Do
you wish it was all over? Do you feel envious of others? Do you hear everyone when you are
buying your groceries, chatting in, an excited, way, about the big day, emphasis being on the word, “big!” Does
the thought of the day, leave you with dread? Or are you completely like a
child at Christmas, finding yourself in a factory of fabulous fun? With a
chocolate chimney, burning sugared smoke coming from a grate of gorgeous candy,
of coals!
Do you hang your stocking up the night before Christmas, or
not at all, or do you have it hanging from the 1st of December?
Knowing it will not have anything in
till the 24th at least, but looking at it, dreaming of what will be
put in it by the man in red himself?
Do you close your curtains or keep your window in full show
of the frosty flakes forming shredded shapes on your windowsill, do you peer
out looking for the reindeer passing? Do you feel excited when you see people
getting out of their cars with bags of bulging purchases and busloads of people
sitting under boxes with their eyes popping over the top. Or do you feel left
out, as there is no one there for you?
You are aching for your loved ones, from times gone by? If so, this year is a
new year for you. Only you can do it though, enough of the sad days, give yourself a gift. A gift of
Christmas. The best gift anyone could ever have. A smile, a hand to hold. I am
