What does winter mean to you? To me it means dark nights,
slippy paths, cold weather and Christmas. It also means, family times, when we
get together and spend time with each other because the weather is too cold to
go out and we visit each other with Christmas gifts. It also means, that Hub
and Teen are off work and school for a chunk of it. So I am happy about that.
But I think of my parents a lot, as there are so many anniversary’s around the
winter time relating to them.
I always feel so sorry for people who have lost loved ones
and who have family or friends in hospital, or those who are waiting for
results for tests, but there is such a lot of winter wonderland out there too
right now. Like families who have young excited children waiting for the big man
with his red coat and white beard to visit them. Even those who don’t have a lot of money, they can give their time to their
kids. It’s a good lesson and a good feeling. I love family time, in front of
the television, with a box of chocolates, laughing at what is on the telly, and
chatting to each other about the programs?
I love it when it is
so cold outside and you come in to a warm house, with the tree lights on and candles glowing
in the window? The smells of Christmas fill the house, of cinnamon and clementine’s!
Our Christmas tree smells like a bouquet of flowers every day and spices from
the cooking of Christmas goodies.
Winter is looking out into the cold dark life and feeling
the warm glow inside. Wrapping up in lovely cosy warm scarves, and gloves and
toasty warm coats with snug jumpers.
Holding your loved
ones hand, whether it be your spouse, child niece nephew or best friend.
Feeling loving arms around you making you feel safe. If you have no one yet to
fill that for you, I am sending you a symbolic hug. X
