Gosh, Bloggets. What an 18 hour experience?
My first news is, yesterday I found out that my Son has
received his English results. One of the exams that was not given. Long story.
Anyway, He was awarded it yesterday and I am delighted with the result. He kind
of deserves it, as he is an amazing writer. Now I joke about what he writes
sometimes, but when he knows he has to do something eg, a story for a lesson,
he writes like a thirty year old Professor. He did not do any study what so
ever for his English this really annoyed me, but, having said that, the subjects
he had to debate on in school, he received A stars for all of the times. This
is great news for him, I am proud of him. Let’s hope he continues proving he is
as intelligent as I believe he is.
Then, my Husband came home. It was great to see him, though
for a short while. He had so much to tell me about his amazing week with
Google. They truly are an amazing company. He was at Mountain View, where
facebook and other internet organisations are situated in the US. The things he
has told me even I am excited about and though I sometimes joke about Techno
Fi, those who know me well know that that cannot be even close to a true
description of myself.
He was exhausted and through a sleepy voice of twenty hours
of travel, he spoke about Google glass and the Google driverless car. Wow, I’m
bursting to tell but sworn to secrecy. For now anyway.
He brought a lovely gift for our Lewis at the restaurant and
a beautiful book for teen to write in. It’s got Google written on the front and
it is a leather note book, which is quite a good size and you can if desire,
pull out the pages. Hub thought it would be rather cool as teen is studying I.T
at college.
We had a lovely tea; I made quiche, baked potatoes with
cheese and salad. The three of us sat around the table like the family I dream
about.
A happy table.
Then we caught up with some Telly and then at nine o clock,
time to empty case and repack.
Five this morning the alarm went off for his next journey to
Portugal.
One bit of real drama.
Hub realised he has lost his European bank card.
Nightmare. So at ten past five this morning trying not to
wake teen, the two of us are searching his steps. No card.
Hub left in a right panic as you know, in the US, oftern you
don’t have to add a pin number like you do in our country to use a bank card.
Anyway, he caught the 6 a.m. train and went to London. He
waited for assistance in London, nothing. He had to make his way on his own,
stressing and hungry. He had no time for breakfast though I did make it for
him. Looking for the card, removed both of our appetites. There again, was no
trolley on the train for refreshments and then getting to his next destination,
was not easy and after the stage two, the tube, again, no assistance. He had to
go and try to find someone and at last found where a member of staff was.
London is not the north of England, not quite as helpful.
Once he arrived at the airport, all was fine, though he had
two hours before flying; he sat in a seat and stayed put. This is the stress
and trouble with travelling alone when you can’t see. We can’t just get up and
go for a coffee. Normally he fly’s with British Airways, but, the past two
flights he has done; he hasn’t, to save the company money.
He has no choice on this matter; he has to fly the best
price. This to me is a bit mean, as I said, it’s not like he can see and get up
and walk to a café? When he travels with BA, he goes to the lounge and there
are food and drinks there.
So now he should be landing in Portugal and he will have an
hour, then in a meeting for three hours. All day meetings tomorrow then on
Sunday, home.
Well, I shall tell you about my joiner later. I have a few
blogs to write on various subjects today, so until then, with love take care.
