FIFI'S FRIDAY NEWS AND VIEWS

As my fingers flickered through the news today, this is what I have found.

Winter snow breaks Europe records is one of the headlines today. Also Ukraine. What will happen there? France and Germany are now in talks to try to find peace. It’s horrible, truly awful. On the news the other evening, I watched families who had been in an underground shelter for six months. Pets as well as people. They eat sleep and sadly drink alcohol down there. But what a life? The news people had to make a run for it as they left the shelter. The sounds of missiles nearby were just awful. Terrifying and why? Really, why? For God’s sake, why can’t we have peace? What is it with the mad insaigne people who have to make life hell for others?

So what else in the news?

Chimpanzees in a zoo in Scotland came from the Netherlands and when they arrived, they spoke in a high voice to ask for toys food and so on. Now they are talking in a low grunt, just like their original Scottish chimps. Haha, but the headlines read

Dutch chimps learn to speak in a Scottish accent.

So, Scottish people speak in a deep grunt?

Really, I did imagine when I started to read this story that chimps were actually talking. Silly Fi.

A lady in the US has launched a DE clutter blog. She talks about how to make your life less stressful by getting rid of your possessions you don’t use or need. She says little things like getting your wardrobe down to only 33 items will help to eliminate stress. I guess fewer clothes to choose from? I do wonder though, what made her decide 33 was a good number and what if we can do it in 35? Gosh, I personally can’t imagine doing this, but she has sold a lot of her so called clutter and now has a better life. Less to clean and less to decide on I guess. But how cold and clinical will her house look?

I can see her point though as far as I go, my china cabinets really need emptying and cleaning. I am stressed as I know this needs doing but it’s such a huge job and precious items are in there. Also my ornaments in the house are also special to me but to dust them is a time consuming job. As for clothes, if we had less, we wouldn’t be so worried about colours and so on.

Two mummies have been found floating in suite in Egypt. Illegal excavationist are to blame.

This is great, in Denmark, there are going to be ten cycle parks for children set up. With ramps and other useful objects. Tests have shown that when children visit these parks, they become safer on the roads. 9 out of ten Danish people, own a bicycle. 45% of children go to school on a bike.

Oh this news is sick. The rope that was used to hang Saddam Hussein is being bid for. Up to

$7000,000 or almost£5000,000

A sad but happy ending story. A dog from Scotland was abandoned at a train station with a suitcase. But after it was reported, he has now been rehomed. Oh I wonder what was in the suitcase.

Oh I’m not sure I am happy about this. BT, British telecom is to buy EE. The mobile phone company. Hmm. This will treble BT’s customers but also BT will once again dominate the telephone world. So no competition equals high prices for those who have their mobile providers with EE, who I think are a Dutch company. They provide TV mobile phones and as well as broadband

It is reported that BT have paid £12.5 billion for the business.

“And we have homeless people, and failing hospitals?

So you can download an application to order a taxi, how about a private jet? Yep, there is talk of being able to do that very soon. A flick of the screen on your IPhone will get you a plane to take you off anywhere. So more crashes in the future and great for crime I would say?

Some great news. Manchester and Cambridge University are in joint efforts for working with a robot many diseases are not treated because of lack of funds, so this robot learns as it goes along

Testing out drugs. It would be great if we could invent a robot that will be able to be used for genetic testing, rather than using animals and take years before the new treatments can be used on humans? How quickly will we find treatments and cures?

So we have all perhaps heard of the Google self-drive cars? Now there is a computer being invented that sits in the back of your car and will be able to self-drive. So like an application you will be able to download. Scary. What if the computer is hacked or fails? What happens to the car or the abandoned person in the car? I am not sure about this. Unless you can go onto automatic drive but I bet that if you learn and get used to self-drive, you will forget how to drive?

Okay, so no news on a breakthrough for Retinitis pigmentosa as yet, but one day soon please?
