SLEEPING AWAY BY FIONA CUMMINGS

SLEEP AWAY

BY FIONA CUMMINGS

Goodnight and sweet dreams

Of lollypops and soda streams

Summer sun

And childlike fun

Under a rainbow

And clouds of marshmallow

Honey cones

And purple balloons

Musical tones

Playing beautiful tunes

Such perfect pitch

With amazing rhythm

A box of chocolates

Tied with a bright blue ribbon

Happy faces

People singing

Chocolate churches

And bells are ringing

Bouncing castles

Ponchos with tassels

Cowboy hats

Pure white cats

With pink bows

A juggling clown

With a light up nose

A marriage proposal

And a scarlet rose

A leafy lane

And an amber flame

To keep us warm

To be a dice

On a board game

Kings and queens from chess

Or a pawn

Some clues and make a guess

Fresh spice

Fluffy rice

Juicy fruit

Giant peaches

Sandy beaches

Sapphire seas

Ocean breaze

So very calm

Under a beautiful palm

Gold dust sand

A perfect land

Full of people who care

Those who want to share

Love and happiness

No such words as alone and sadness

Puppies play

On this forever day

Sleep all your troubles away
