THE PEOPLES TRAITS BY FIONA CUMMINGS

Wouldn’t it be a wonderful world if we could live on an island with only those we care about and get on well with? Can you imagine such a place? I would love that. I guess what would be perfect for me wouldn’t be perfect to another person who would be on my list, but if I had a magic wand, then it would be possible for everyone to want and feel the same way I do. Smile. Don’t get me wrong I love different opinions and I don’t have one friend the same this is why I don’t do large groups of pals. All of my friends would crash in a room with each other. I’m the kind of person who can be in the mind of a store assistant, cleaner, Professor, home maker, road sweeper, teacher or vicar.  I think it comes from the days when I travelled abroad we mixed with delegates, embassy staff, Doctors, receptionists and Heads of. From a young girl, I had to adapt with normal people like me and famous people too! It’s a great lesson for life this is for sure.

I have connections with people who have read my blogs, people who I have never met an yet we have shared so much between emails and even phone calls that I feel a very strong bond with them.

These people are so far away too. I have friends on Facebook that I knew many moons ago who I could meet up with but haven’t as yet, though in my heart they are close to me.

And then there are people not far away who want to be with me and I simply can’t think of anything worse. Typical.

So many different characteristics in people. According to Psychologists, there are five different traits underpin personality, they are introversion, extroversion, conscientiousness, agreeableness and neuroticism. But there is another trait that I am half with, and that is openness. People who are open experience adventure, well, that’s not me but we have an open mind to everything and that is kind of me an yet I am rather set in my ways too, but I love to think out of the box. I really am curious and appreciate the arts.

I am an introvert to extreme an yet when I am among people I am comfortable with, I am the party person, full of laughter and passionate to perform an yet have the need to listen to others and truly care about them. My goals are to leave a room knowing I have made someone happy at least smile or feel better about themselves.

I think I come under the title of agreeableness too, though those who know me, may not, agree.

I’m also conscientious, this means I’m a planner and I have a sense of duty and I have to finish what I am asked to do.

You always think of the word introvert as someone who likes to be on their own, but it can mean that you just like small groups of people rather than huge parties. That is me but again, I don’t fall under that category only as I can handle big groups too and have no problem talking with a large audience but only under a professional situation when it comes to fun situations, mixed with huge groups, then the label introvert is stamped across my forehead.

I think the only trait I don’t have is, neuroticism. Mind you, that may be a matter of opinion. Smile.

So, I guess that is why I get on with most people with different traits. I’m not in one box I’m in a few and I frequent out of the box. People who are neurotic have many health issues and tend to die at an earlier age. This could be because they turn to alcohol and cigarettes to calm their nerves?

So, what category do you fall into?
