THE CUTTING TRUTH BY FIONA CUMMINGS

Good day Bloggets. Last night I cooked the boy’s dinners ready for them to heat up when they got home as both were working late. I left to go to the cinema with my friend. We went to see Fisherman’s friends. About a group of ten men from Cornwall UK. They sing fisherman shanty songs. Wow, they are amazing. It’s a movie about their true-life story and all that goes on in Cornwall.

Cornwall is different for sure if you have ever been there you will know what I mean. It was a fantastic film. The music was stunning. The harmonies and lyrics. Hub would have loved it. I have looked them up for concerts but sadly we have just missed their tour of where we live. Otherwise I would have booked tickets for sure. I could listen to their music all night and right throughout the movie, was their singing. At one time they sang in a church in Cornwall and the acoustics were phenomenally haunting as well as pure class. Sounds of the sea and traditional folk stories sealed this film with a 7 out of ten for me. Sadly, my audio earphones didn’t work but to be honest, I could quite easily follow the storyline. It was a love story too and had some real funny moments as well as lump in throat scenarios right throughout.

Coming out from the cinema last night sure told a tale of bitter winter. And since then the winds have been so bad but nothing in comparison to a part of America where 23 people have tragically died. Snow is forecast here, let’s see if it comes!

In our news there are so many knife crimes now days. A poor 17 year old girl was in a park with her boyfriend and two guys came up to her, one stabbing her in the back killing her. Five in a few days kids all have died under the age of 18. What is wrong with people and what can be done? Well that was the conversation between my Husband and myself last night! Our conclusion? Well make knife crime a terrorist crime, give terrorists so much longer in prison, stop being soft when it comes to jails and for those who take a life, make prisons extremely basic, a place no one wants to go to. Teach children from a very young age how lethal knife are. Parents who have lost their children go into schools and give talks but it has to be schools from aged four as if they wait until they are teens, I’m afraid it’s too late but the most important thing is, for all radio stations, magazines and TV programs as well as arena’s/stadiums not to play or show concerts of groups solo singers who promote in their lyrics gun and knife crime. It’s not cool to kill and we all have responsibilities not to promote such people who advocate such evil crimes.

Make it easy to report people who you know are carrying a knife. Reward such people. Yeah, some may say grasses. but if it is your child your sister, brother even father who has been murdered how will you feel? No feelings in the subject? Then you have a huge problem with life and you need to start to appreciate life living you have been given a gift to live so get out there and see what there is for you, don’t expect it to come to you and what a life always looking over your shoulder. Re feeling a part of some kind of really odd family because you are excepted if you carry a knife or join a gang, well those people really don’t care about you, try if you dare to test that out some time. They may be nice to you but only if you follow their rules and if you don’t, God help you. That isn’t family, that isn’t a friend. Someone who wants you to risk your life or take another life, isn’t a good person. The majority of people will hate you. Your so-called gang members will not be there for you in the future, but your future girlfriend/boyfriend/Parents or children will be there and you will want to send your child to school without having to worry if they will return to you ever again.

A debate I’m involved in right now is a parent who is having another child and she is 46. I have said it’s wrong. She already has kids, having a child so old isn’t good for the child but we live in a world now where anything goes no matter of the outcome. Oh boy, I would say the majority of people are very against my opinion. Saying the woman is fit, sure she is, but how fit will she be in five years, ten years fifteen years when she is 61 and her child is 15?

When we are children, some do worry about their parents. The insecurity of them dying. It’s fact that children believe their parents are old. And that is parents who are twenty thirty years older than their children, let alone 46. How bad am I to think of the children, well, someone has to as the parents giving birth obviously are not thinking of how their kids, how they are going to feel and what they are going to say when their school friends are asking is that your Grandma? She may look good the lady in this story in our press, she may look younger than forty six, fact is, she doesn’t look 25/35. She is a sports woman, or was, so they are saying she is fit. Yep, a lot of sports people were, fit. Some sports leave your body in a state internally suffering and that child may not have a Grandparent whilst growing up as if the parent is 46, how old will the Grandparents be? 70, 92? I mean, if we all wait until we are 46 to have a child, then the grandmother will be 92 when the baby is born. So, this robs the child of a Grandparent too.

I’m certainly not saying old parents are bad, they are the best in some cases. I’m thinking of that child.

And on that note, I shall take Waggs out now for a walk as the sun is calling for me. The wind has died down a little since I started to write. But still blowing, so not sure how long I can be out as obviously I need my hearing to know where I’m going. Until later take care.
