YOUR DESTINY BY FIONA CUMMINGS

Good day Bloggets. So sorry I haven’t been around for a couple of days. Such is life. You know, when life happens? Smile. Even now I only have a few minutes to chat. My Son is cooking in my kitchen. I’m thinking of the cleaning up job I will have to do when he’s finished.

It’s a nightmare. Cooking vegan for our boy Meat for Hub and veg for me. So, what happens? I don’t bother eating anything. I just snack. Hub isn’t happy about that but tough. Today our boy is cooking but normally it’s up to me and I don’t mind at all at least I feel useful, but vegan food I’m totally struggling with. Especially cheese, I mean I can make him lasagne pasta dishes as long as the pasta doesn’t have egg in it. And eggs, oh, my, no more Yorkshire puddings and he loved those. Chocolate, no more. Christmas? Oh, no more veg turkey. As for the stuffing I make, I put an egg in, no more. I don’t like it. I’m proud of him because when you learn all about milk. How butter comes along and cheese, it’s not good, but I try to burry my head in the sand and continue to eat those things, my Son has gone further and said no. but as a Mum, I want to feed him and make him all the homely food he used to love. But for the animals, well done to him and shame on me for not being as strong as him. Now I just need him to eat well though, and because he’s finding it a challenge to cook food without milk, cheese, butter and eggs. Oh, boy, he will lose so much weight too. I mean, mash potatoes without butter, though I have learned that I can buy dairy free butter. As for milk again, dairy free milk. now for eggs, any vegans out there, what do you use in place of eggs? Help with a capital H?

Now, a quick story about a couple of our Bloggets. Laura. She wrote to me about ten months ago. Her Husband had left her. She was in one heck of a state. Her world had come crashing down within three words. “I’m leaving you””

I won’t go into detail, but if you knew the circumstances of Laura’s life back then, you would be heart broken for her. Laura has told me I can use her story but I don’t want to write everything, only how low she was, I’m talking she was thinking about ending her life. I was so concerned about her. I hadn’t even spoken to her before even through emails. I didn’t know she had been reading my blogs for over a year back then. She was a total stranger. But thank goodness she reached out as she had no family who would understand. Her friends were unable to help either or support her. Sometimes it’s good to talk with a stranger. And I was that person.

I remember getting up during the night. I just felt like I needed to write to her as it’s night time when some people need a hand to hold.

As I sneaked out of the bedroom not wanting to wake Hub, I crept downstairs hoping the dogs wouldn’t shake and ring their bells on their collars. As that is what they do when they see us coming downstairs to them. But thankfully, they remained in slumber.

I went to my email and there was a letter from Laura.  She is English so our times are the same. I was able to talk with her almost live. Thankfully she was still on line when I got back to her.  Let’s just say I got no sleep at all that night. Thank goodness she made me a promise. And I made her one.

Fast forward months, three months ago she walked into her office at work and sitting in reception, was a very handsome man with beautiful blue eyes which locked with hers and started something inside of her that she couldn’t forget.

The guy left the office, only to call Laura’s desk the next day. Now, he could have got through to any desk, but it was hers. She didn’t know who he was, and he didn’t know who he was talking with. He needed help with a contract, and she offered professional advice.

Emails were exchanged. A month ago, she received a Bouquet of flowers from Dave. She recognised his name with the message attached. But obviously she still didn’t know it was her mystery handsome man from months before hand.

Dave had to come to the office a couple of days later to sign contracts.

It was a normal Thursday morning. Laura walked in the door at work and standing there was the man she first saw three months earlier. She went to reception to get her files for the day, went to her desk opened her computer and read who was first in line waiting for her attention that day. It was that name. the person she had been speaking with by phone and email. Professionally for three months. The person who sent the flowers which were still looking lovely on the shelf behind her. As she stood up she called his name three men and a lady were sitting in reception and Dave stood up. Laura said five days ago, her jaw dropped. She was left speechless. The handsome guy walked towards her. He was smiling. His eyes lit up as did hers. The energy between them both was like nothing Laura has experienced.

She took him to a room that was a small cubical through the double doors. As she opened the doors for him, he put his hand above her head and kept the door open and made gestures for her to go first.  She said she felt ridiculous, as she wasn’t sure how she could even talk let alone give her final advice.

Long and short of it, a contract was signed and an invitation for a meal was requested by Dave that morning.

Well at the weekend they met up and got on so very well. She has written to me and told me on Sunday that she woke up that morning feeling alive for the first time in ten months. She was to meet again already only a day after the meal this time they were meeting in the afternoon to go on a day time date.

Laura emailed me yesterday to tell me she has never been so pleased to be alive. She was in love with her Husband, but not like she is with Dave. They just connect. She told me that she wanted to die back then, as she thought it was totally impossible to fall in love in the way she was in love with her now ex, and almost a week after meeting up with Dave again, her world changed.

As I always say, you just never know what is around that corner, just hang in there.

Another lady I shall call C, has three sons. One can’t have children. One doesn’t want children and the third was married to a lady who can’t have children. C was so depressed. All of her friends are Grandparents. She felt she was missing out on so much. The third Son left his wife who couldn’t have children a year ago. He met with another lady five months ago. Last Tuesday he called his Mum to tell her that at the age of 37, he was going to be a Dad… His girlfriend is three months pregnant. They are all excited, but C, is ecstatic. After all, she is going to be a Grandmother.

Again, emails from her over the past three years have told me things that she couldn’t tell anyone else including her Husband in fear of sounding crazy, but when she told me one of her stories, I totally understood. She told me she knits baby clothes, she has done it for some time now and keeps them hidden away but now, those clothes will be worn. Isn’t that fantastic? Just two of your emails this week life changing stories, have proven that we just don’t know our destiny!

With love.
