AN AUTHORS TALE BY FIONA CUMMINGS

AN AUTHORS TALE

BY FIONA CUMMINGS

I love to write

In the still of the night

Where all is calm

Safe from harm

Locked doors

Closed windows

Ambers roaring

Pets are snoring

All content

It’s so pleasant

              The brash blue sky sleeps

The starry blanket creeps

Closed curtains of the day

Let all your troubles go away

Take a pen

The fresh ink you can smell

And heal yourself till your well

The words glide across the page

Feel the lifting of your rage

No matter what has occurred in your working day

The night is here now let it have its say
