A BIT OF EVERYTHING

Good evening Bloggets. Well, riots are advertising on our news. Kind of willing it to happen?

A black man got shot dead in 2011 in North London, after he arrived in a taxi. Police heard that the gang member had been to collect a gun.

This caused the worst riots that London had seen in recent British history.

The hatred against the Police is dreadful and so disrespectful.

OK, he was a man shot by Police, so if you were his family or friends, you too would be against the Police, but what if he was a gang member? If he did carry a gun? Would you still be so protective over this man?

So our news is full of how much they think there will be riots next week. If they kept quiet, in my opinion, it would be so much calmer. It really is like they are advertising for gangs to gather.

So what do you think about this? Should the media keep quiet? Are the family right to riot?  Was the Police man right in shooting the man, as they had been informed the man was buying a gun?

Another subject. I have told you before about in Russia, how they put carpets on the walls of their apartments and keep the floors bare.

Carpets invaded Russian apartments in the ‘60s, and the reasons for that were numerous. During the time of massive urbanization, millions of people were leaving their rural houses, dormitories and even barracks, and moving into newly-built city apartments in low-cost, concrete-paneled buildings. These buildings came to be known by the twisted name of Khrushchyovki because they were built during the time Nikita Khrushchev directed the Soviet government.

The apartments were very cold in winter (the were concrete after all), so people began using wool carpets as means of heat insulation, especially in the northern regions and the Far East.

Carpets also served as sound proof material, as the walls were very thin and remember some years ago, there could be up to twelve people in one flat with three rooms.

So sound proof would be good. And the last, but by no means the least, they are beautiful in their own way, especially those which were produced in the southern Soviet republics of Tadjikistan, Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan.

They were rich dark colours with beautiful patterns.

So in 16th century Europe, the carpets (received as gifts or bought in the East) became an indicator of high social status. The same is true for Russia, where tsars often received expensive carpets from eastern ambassadors. The walls, floor and ceiling of the bedroom of Tsar Alexis in the 17th century were decorated with magnificent carpets and tapestries. This trend was picked up by the nobility and continued in the next century, when Peter the Great established the royal tapestry mill that produced gobelins to decorate royal estates. In the 19th century, carpets began to appear in the homes of rich peasants if there is such a thing?  And townsfolk who wanted to show that they were as wealthy as the nobility.

In Soviet times, carpets also were a sign of a well to do family, because it could be really expensive. With an average monthly salary of 120 rubles to 150 rubles, a carpet’s cost varied from 125 rubles (in 1961) to 300 rubles to 500 rubles (in the 70s), but that’s for the carpets made in the Soviet Unio; the prices for Chinese and Vietnamese carpets were really exorbitant, reaching up to 1,500 rubles.

But one couldn’t just walk in a shop and buy a carpet – in those times, Soviet citizens had to “procure” (dostavat’) almost every expensive and beautiful piece of furniture and apartment decoration. The potential buyers’ names were put on a special list in chronological order; usually people had to wait for a long time, up to a year, to purchase the long-desired carpet. The same was true for wardrobes, washing and meat-mincing machines, cupboards and sets of crystal crockery that inhabited these cupboards. But collected together, and topped with the inevitable seven marble statuettes of elephants, all these things formed a solid image of a well-off engineer’s or a civil servant’s city apartment. The wealthiest of them even bought carpets to cover the floor, which, too, could be very cold.

In the USSR, carpets became an essential item in everyday life. In fact a superstition connected to carpets states that “one should not nail the carpet to the wall, it may lead to a row in the family.” This superstition is similar to the ancient Russian belief about salt, which says, “if you spill the salt, you’ll get in a row with the one who saw you do it.”

The key to both superstitions is the same – both salt and carpets used to be very expensive, so it’s no wonder that spoiling them causes a row. As for the carpets, Russians usually hang them on the walls using small stitched threads.

Nowadays, young Russian designers, artists and eccentrics have renovated the trend for wall carpet and even devised a humorous title for it: “Its Royal Woolness.” So maybe hanging one in your apartment isn’t such a bad idea after all.

So, would you like a carpet hanging from your walls? As for me, no, I hated it when I was a child and I used to visit my Russian friends and even now I would find it really weird. I also don’t imagine my Husband agreeing to it, as I found it hard to persuade him to have wallpaper on the wall, haha.

So, from one story to another. Just what I have been reading today and what is on my mind.

Teen about to come in. It’s after ten. My dogs are fast a sleep dreaming, making rather odd sounds and my Husband is getting ready for London tomorrow. I also have a day tomorrow where by I am out trainint with my white cane. For the first time in ten years.

So more tomorrow. X

BBC OR NOT?

Hey Bloggets. How are you all today? Well, if anything else goes wrong with this house, I swear I am moving into a small house that is brand new. Now, snow is forecast for this weekend and guess what? Our heating is misbehaving. Hub has managed to fix it again, but it is really unpredictable.

I called our electrition and the earliest he can get to us is Saturday afternoon, so if it needs a part, you are talking about middle of next week. We are going to leave it on and hope it will stay on, as when we turn the thermostat down, the dam thing falls off the wall and then we can’t get it to work again for ages.

OK, teen was to get his Maths exam today, but because he was not told the correct times, because he didn’t think about asking, as he was told to come in to college on today’s date and not, between ten and mid-day today, he has missed his slot, so now we wait for the post to deliver.

Oh God. That will make a nice weekend? Or not?

Please let it be a pass? I don’t know how much more of trying to get him to study for something I can take.

Hub says don’t bother leave him alone it’s his life, well, that was the reaction my x had. I won’t give up on him so easy; though it would add years onto my life I’m sure if only I did relax a bit?

The sun is bright today, though really cold. I just hope we don’t get the dreadful weather poor America is getting? We normally get the back lash of our friend’s weather across the pond.

Gosh, I have so much housework to do today, really that is all I seem to do with my life, and then I get a room sorted and its back to square one… Are you aware of that saying we use, back to square one? No one is sure of where the origin of that phrase comes from, some say board games and others say the good old BBC and that it originated with BBC football commentaries.

Early BBC radio commentaries did help listeners follow the progress of football and rugby games by notionally dividing the pitch into eight rectangles. Commentators described the play by saying which 'square' the ball was in. The Radio Times, the BBC's listings guide, referred to the practice in an issue from January 1927. But the fact is, no one really knows the answer.

Anyway, I digress. My dogs are driving me mad, with their version of come dance with me on my wooden floor, so I shall go for now and I guess start to clean. God…

Thank you for reading and I do hope you return!

With love until later.

FIGHT FOR SIGHT

Today in an online group I am involved with, I had an interesting conversation with someone who is a very independent blind person, who has his own business. I joked about my Husband being a plumber as he fixed our heating last night; he said he knows of a blind man in the UK, who has his own plumbing company. He has sighted plumbers who work with him, but does a lot on his own too. He said that it shows that blind people can do almost anything if they put their minds to it. My response was.

    • I agree, but, this is what Doctors, scientists and people giving to charity see. They don't see the very sad people who feel so lost and alone who never go out as they are too afraid, who are living to die, who fall and hurt themselves each day. Who cry almost every hour they are awake, who get by with drink or depression pills and who have people around them who knock them or who only ever see their shopping delivery person once a week, or their meals on wheels if they are old. The people who don't even know when they have a light bulb off. It's OK for independent people but those are the ones who get seen. I feel for those who don't have a voice. I feel for those who visit the Doctor or ophthalmologist thinking they just need new lenses in their glasses or wondering if they indeed need glasses at all, and find out the news, that they are about to lose their sight completely. These people perhaps reading this now need to all fight for their life and rights. Be seen as if we are not seen, we will always be invisible.

I SEE THE SUN BY FIONA CUMMINGS

I SEE THE SUN

BY FIONA CUMMINGS

 I see the sun today,

On a hill not too far away

Blanking out the cloud before it

And the grey of buildings and walls of brick

I breathe the fresh air

Gone has the choking mist

My heart feels alive

As though new

The beautiful skies

So blue

For once I can do this without you

Why can’t I be like this each day of my life?

Am I asking too much to not be bothered by strife?

The pain has been lifted from my damaged heart

My pleasure has been reunited and I don’t want it to part

Leaves are so green

On the full bloomed trees

In front of me is a picture of a beauty queen

My old reflection

Am I going in the right direction?

Gone is the old me

To where, I don’t care

Oh how I wish this feeling I could share?

MY DIARY

Good day Bloggets.  I hope I find you well? My boy hating College. Received three texts from him today saying how much he is “Hating” his time there.

It’s a shame as he only has six months to go then he is finished his first year and at least he will have one qualification. But if he hates it so much, well, what can I say? The worry is what is left for him to do?

The trouble is, he doesn’t really know what he wants to do. He doesn’t have a realistic idea.

God, his Father thinks I have it really easy, if only he knew what I have been through over the past sixteen years? I had no help from the x with anything I taught him to walk, talk, read and write, his manners, and he is impeccable out of the house. Everyone remarks how well mannered he is, what went wrong in the house, I’m not too sure.

Having said that, bless him, he cooked me a tea last night, trying to get me to eat. I have lived on Christmas cake and Pringles for ten days. God, I mean it, our shopping is due and I am starting to eat healthy food. The thing is, my Husband bought me so much chocolate for Christmas, I have not even opened half what he got me, because I really don’t want to eat it.

I hope this year will be the year I can change my appalling diet.

Every year, I say I want to lose weight and every year, I fail. Well, this year is different. This year I need to eat for my heart and health.

So Bloggets, I shall give you a weekly report on how I am doing starting from today.

Talking about today. It is fifteen years since my darling Mum died. I shall never get over it. People say it gets easier, but for me, it hasn’t so far. I still miss her so much it really hurts. I just want her to walk through my front door and life to be complete. If I had my parents back, I would have the love I need also I want her to see Hub and I together, though I am sure wherever she is in her world, she knows we are a couple as I bet she is one of the angels who gave me such strength five years ago this month, to look at a website for our old school reunion. Gave me the strength to post my now Husband that crucial email.

And from next month, it’s been five years since we met for the first time.

I for sure in that time was being pushed. And though my parents really loved my x, they knew I married him for a few reasons, one of them, being I knew he would be a great Son in law, and he really was.

Five years ago, it was my turn in life to be me. To be free.

I thank whoever brought Hub and I together every day of my life, and our two old friends from school have a part in that too.

God, our canary, Irish you know, is really in full song. It’s like he is so excited. How can he be so happy? What does he have in life?

Bless him. At least Teen cleaned out his cage the other day, at last. He is swinging and singing. Canary that is, not teen, hahaha.

Hub working in the office at home today until later then he is off to work at our local blind society.

OK, must dash for now but more later. With love and remember, if you get an open door in life, walk through it. You may never know again, when a door will open for you. Go through every one. X

BLIND PLUMBER

The world is going mad. A ten year old girl, whose brother is a Taliban commander, has tried to get his little sister to be a suicide bomber. The girl has given herself up and now what will happen with her? Will she come over to the UK and live? Then train in England? OK, she is a child and doesn’t know what she was doing.

Or does she?

I wonder do these people have a heart. I mean his little sister. Also, she was beaten up by her Father, because she failed to do her job?

In China, the air is grey with pollution and the lifespan is five years less than it should be because of it. Children are going to school under a dome, releasing filtered air. Scary?

Then in the UK, a disabled young lad, has been kept as a slave in his home with his so called family. Sometimes the family used the poor boy as a punch bag. They would take him outside and repeatedly punch him.

He was to stay alive to clean the family home and ice scream vans as that was the families business.

All the Father got was six years in prison. The brother four years and Mother four months.

Why so low?

It’s really sad.

All the weather is weird too. The storms we are having in the UK are unheard of. Floods and wild winds. In the US, Washington, they were throwing boiling water on our news and before it had chance to hit the ground, it was frozen.

Is there anywhere in the world left where it is perfect, or at least close to?  A place in the world where there are more than a handful of kind people in a neighbourhood?

Sadly I think not.

On a positive note, I have had a very interesting day. I froze in my own home. Our heating was broken. Could not get the boiler on and no hot water either. All that on a bitterly cold day and then, I noticed as I went to wash the downstairs toilet, it was blocked. Lovely. So rubber glove moment for that, I fixed it, Teen tried to fix heating but no luck and then Hub came from London, and managed to fix the heating. I don’t know what it is, but when it comes to plumbing, he’s great. Hahaha. The world’s first blind plumber, what do you think?

PEOPLE LISTNING

I heard a really funny story on Sunday whilst on a packed train. An Aunty and her Niece aged about eleven, were sitting next to us. They had a very strong African accent. The conversation delighted me in fact made my difficult day pass by. It went like this.

Niece. “I get money for Christmas, but my Mum keeps it to spend.

Aunt. “Nor girl, she don’t do dat. She geev it to yoo.

Forgive my African accent, but want to try to allow you to hear what we did.

Niece. “No Aunt. She bought Cousin chocolates and she even bought your Christmas present with my money.

Aunt. No child. You are wrong.

Niece. Oh life is (shit)

Aunt. “Teesh girl. Don’t say dat.

“Niece, “Whot deed I say?

Then the aunt said in a loud voice

“Shit”

Niece. Well, you call your Husband, a bastard?

Hahahahahahah. Then she went onto telling the train via her aunt about all the swear words her Mum uses.

Next thing, the train stops and the child is removed and I don’t want’ to think or tink, what was done to her when she got hom to Mama? Hahaha. But we did laugh.

OH NO HE DIDN'T

Good day to you all. Well, last night was really great. Our friends met us here at the house and we went off to the Theatre to watch the Pantomime. It’s a really lovely theatre and a warm welcome from the winter nights.

We laughed from start to finish. It was Widow Twanky.

The pantomime I mean, not one of our friends…

The pantomime was a popular form of entertainment in ancient Greece and later, Rome. Like theatre, it encompassed the genres of comedy. It used to be all mime to music.

No Ancient Pantomime has survived as far as I know. The development of English pantomime was strongly influenced by the continental commedia a form of popular theatre that arose in Italy in the early modern times. This was a "comedy of professional artists" travelling from province to province in Italy and then France, who improvised and told comic stories that held lessons for the crowd, changing the main character depending on where they were performing. Each story had some of the same fixed clown characters. These often included young lovers. In the 17th century, adaptations of the commedia characters became familiar in English entertainments. these depicted eloping lovers. In the first two decades of the 18th century, two rival London theatres, one of them being Theatre Royal on Drury Lane, presented productions that began seriously with classical stories that contained elements of opera and ballet and ended with a comic "night scene". Tavern Bilkers, by John Weaver, the dancing master at Drury Lane, is cited as the first pantomime produced on the English stage.

This was not too popular, but in 1843, Parliament changed the Pantomimes so spoken drama was allowed.

Magic was introduced by a wand, which is still used today. Pantomimes now days are funny humor called slapstick.

By the early 1800s, the pantomime's classical stories were often supplanted by stories adapted from European fairy tales, classic English literature or nursery rhymes.

The opening "fairy story" was often blended with a story about a love triangle: a "cross-grained" old father who owns a business has a pretty daughter, who is pursued by two suitors. The one she loves is poor but worthy, while the father prefers the other, a wealthy person. Another character is a servant in the father's establishment. Just as the daughter is to be forcibly wed to the rich man, or just as she was about to elope with her lover, the good fairy arrives.

In our Pantomimes, the audience is created. Without the involvement of the crowd’s participation, the pantomime would not work. We have to shout the words “He’s behind you!” And “Oh no he isn’t!” Same words each year, never change, an yet still as fresh as the first day or night they were introduced into our English Pantomimes.

We have to Boo, and hiss when the villain comes on the stage too.

We didn’t let the actors down as we shouted and participated in the show. At the end, traditionally, birthdays and so on are read out. I died when our names were read out. My Husband and I  had a request handed in by one of our sweet friends. Oh God I was the colour of my coat and jeans. Purple.

Heheheh.

Anyway in the intervals, our friends even brought sweeties, so we indulged.

It was a full house and extremely atmospheric.

So easy too. No stress getting there or back. Worrying about how and when.

Today Hub back at work, in the capital. So life back to normal. X

ALMOST KILLED AGAIN

Hello there, how are you all today? Me? Almost was killed before, hahaha. I’m actually OK about it, it’s my Husband who is really took it badly. He for the first time is really stressed about my outings with my baby girl.

So much so, after one hour of trying to calm him down by pretending I was absolutely fine, he has taken a bath.

So we both went to the local shop. I was doing good. The rain was pounding and the wind was blowing, but it was not the worst conditions I have ever been in. And as you know, when I am with my Husband, I don’t really get worried. Well. Em. That worry didn’t last long.

Wagga walked there OK, yes, she sniffed every shrub on her way, and turned around in a circle to see some children a few times and then we got there.

Went around the shop and back out to pass all the items for Hub to carry in his rucksack.

It was not long after then I was almost in very serious trouble.

To cut a long story short, I told her to turn left

But I trusted she knew better and left was not quite there, so I followed her, kept saying left.

Next thing I knew, I tripped down the step which leads onto a duel carriageway.

Luckily I managed to stay in the upright position, as a car swerved across the other side of the road. Now rarely thank God, there were no other cars coming the opposite way for the other car which avoided me to crash into.

Oh my God. Why did she do that? She has never been across that road, not ever.

The sound of the traffic buzzed around me like a washing machine.

Again, cutting a long story short, we got home, Hub was furious with Waggatail.

I said it isn’t her fault. He asked me how many times was I going to say that?

When I was in my grave?

Oh she is a dog. What gives us the right to demand she does what we ask of them? Hmm?

I know they are guide dogs, but at the end of the day she is a dog. Hub said fine; keep her as a pet as I am not going out with you and her again. I will go out with you if you do more training with the white cane, but never with her.

So on Friday, I am doing routes to work with Wagga and the white cane. Trouble is, the white cane doesn’t find shop doors or look as cute as you are hoping an assistant will ask if you need help in a shop.

Also you cannot avoid things with a cane what you can with a dog. I haven’t used a cane in ten years on my own.

It will be interesting.

I will write about my day I had yesterday but for now shall go and make tea for teen and then get ready to go to our Panto with friends. Sadly my boy won’t go but it will be a lovely evening. So more on that later too. Tomorrow I will have lots of time as back to work for Hub and already a daunting week a head.

DAWNBREAK

BY FIONA CUMMINGS

They say dreams can come true

Really, for people like me and you?

Well I have been a dreamer for so long

But don’t think I can carry on

So someone wake me up please

As I am so fed up of being on my knees

Just begging saying over and over, “please?

There’s no one there to answer me

So all the faith has left me

How to bring it back?

Will it ever return and change white from black?

Still sleeping

Life creeping

Heavy walls I’m pushing

Can see what I want

It’s there at the front

But no chance of rushing

All in slow motion

In meanwhile a commotion

Where is life’s compassion?

It’s gone out of fashion

Set me an alarm

To wake me from harm

Eyes closed

Left with the thorns of a rose

Allow me to wake

And smell fresh flowers next to the lake

I want to see the sun rise for dawn break

STONE COLD

Bloggets, just got in. Really exhausted. Had a really rough day. Freezing cold. Met a lovely young lad tonight. After not sleeping last night at all in the end, I am shattered. Going for a hot cup of tea and bed. This time to sleep, please?

Tomorrow I have to go to our town, so a long walk and try not to trip anyone up with my white cane. Tomorrow evening, out with friends to a good old Panto.  With love until later and a really funny story. X

HIT THE HAY

This is mad. I went to bed early. About half ten. Got up at eleven. Back to bed about one and up again at two. I’m so tired. My eyes won’t close as feell like rusty fingers are rubbing them. The rust won’t allow my lids to close. My Son got home safe and he had a good night with his friends. I don’t know what today will bring, but I really hope it is kinder to me than yesterday?

God knows what was going on a few hours ago, but the road outside our house was manic with cars/vehicles. All speeding too. It was like a race and was full of anger. Must be in the air, hey?

Had to delete a friend from a group I am in today/yesterday, gosh, he can be so very nasty.

In short, if you don’t have the same views as him, he becomes this dreadful monster. Well, goodbye to old rubbish. Shame the nice him didn’t come out more. He will end up a very sad old man.

He is the kind of person who thinks he is clever with words, but he is hopeless with views and facts. Very narrow minded.

We have a saying which goes something like

“There’s nout more strange, than folk.

Meaning the oddest things are people, and how true that is?

I received yet more bad news about this blooming house when teen came in. Another leak. Our decorating is spoiled again. Oh I’m so sick of this bloody house.

I am so close to asking Hub if we can sell and move to a tiny place we can afford to look after. I have been trying for three months to get a Plumber. He won’t come out and the other guy couldn’t get the parts we needed. Come Monday, I will have to call our insurance and see what they say. It’s inches from Hubs piano too.

OK, I will try again and hit the sack. This time I hope I will manage to sleep, or at least relax?

Hit the sack, hmm. That is a funny expression?

I heard that the term to hit the hay, was from America, and the hay can also be in a sack, so perhaps this is the origin?

To hit the hay, was because the mattresses were made from hay.

So, where’s me hay? X

BED?

I went to bed but I’m up again. I couldn’t stand the thoughts in my head. My Son is out so I am waiting for him to return. It’s after eleven and I don’t have a clue where he is. One huge mistake was when we got him his IPhone; we should have got one of those tracking things on. Now he won’t give up his phone for us to do that.

I think my Husband is off tomorrow to Manchester on his own. So a ticket going spare.

Oh I watched the news and you should see the damage that has occurred throughout the UK with the storms?

It’s awful for people who have lost their homes. Funny thing, business and homes can be lost or damaged, but who raises money for people in the UK?

I mean, if it were another part of the world, the UK would be first to put their hands in their pockets.

I doubt insurances will be very helpful, if they don’t say it’s an act of God, they will take months to sort out the finances.

I bought another Christmas cake. After Christmas, our friend brought me it from her shop. Oh it was or right now, still is, delicious. You can really tell it is homemade. Well, that is what it seems like.

My Christmas chocolates are almost gone now. One huge bar of chocolate and a few boxes, but all my little things are gone.

I have had a healthy diet of chocolate today. Nothing but chocolate. Hub not wanted to eat so I didn’t bother. I told you what I made teen and it went down very well. I made two plates up so I think Teen will have the other one tomorrow.

I am so tired. Wish I could sleep?

Hub on his travels again from Tuesday. And another year of hell.

I had hope that life would change this year, but looks like not.

A couple of days and the anniversary of the death of my Mum. Not a good time. My X husband also has his Fathers birthday and he died before Christmas, so the day will not be good for him either.

He lost both his parents last year within seven months. And for me both within five and a half months many years ago now, but feels like ten years max.

I would love something nice to look forward to. I would love a really nice surprise.

Over the past few days, I have been trying to face reality and after many years of being told that there will never be a cure for my eyesight in my life time, I guess I am now realising it’s all true what they say.

This is so painful and really hard on top of everything else that has gone on of late.

I’m supposed to go to the doctors on Tuesday, but I am cancelling it. It’s for my really bad knee, but I really would rather suffer than go back to that awful hospital again, where they were a load of rubbish last time.

I have had so many diagnoses and don’t know who is telling the truth now. So they pump me with pills and I have horrid side effects with them. Alternative? excersize. Stuff fixing it… Too much money.

OK, off to do some food shopping on line for next week.

Take care Bloggets and I will

 be back. X

CHANGING THE WAY

BY FIONA CUMMINGS

Changing the way in which I think

Creating a world which really does stink

Having to go through the motions

A spell has been made thick evil potions

Pouring through my veins

Cutting my open pains

I grab my chest

Try to rest

Heart   skips, jumps and thumps

Never a streight road, always bumps

She’s watching me

Closed eyes though can still see

She’s listening to me and having a laugh

Though behind stone walls so should be deaf

Knows how I feel

Hands out a rough deal

My loved ones she does steal

 Doesn’t care how I feel

In front of the starving

Will cook a full meal

Allow them to feast on fragrance alone

Whilst she tears at the meat

In her own sinister zone

She doesn’t know the word defeat

Her fortune buys her thoughts and wishes

We are just to her dirty dishes

How can someone be so vicious?

What will be the outcome

Will she always feel the sun?

BAD PARTNERS

We were supposed to be going to Manchester tomorrow, but I think that will be cancelled. Shame as it was a gift from me to my Husband for Christmas. A dreadful day has been had here. Pains in my chest are dreadful today. I just wish I could go to bed and forget life right now.

Life back to normal. Hub working from a few days and teen back at college.

As for me? Hmm.

Now Christmas has gone, we can have our light nights back please? I know I can’t see them, but I feel them. I also know that the summer means more time on my own, so I guess I should ask what am I talking about?

My friend has a Son and Daughter. The daughter is living with a very bad man. The man on New Year’s Eve beat up the Son of my friend for defending his little sister. My friend’s daughter.

How awful it must be for the parents of these kids.

I know the feeling to loss a Son to a loser of a partner.

My boy was stolen a year ago. I just hope he comes to his senses soon?

The thing is, to be in love, is an illness.

Which can’t be cured.

Nothing the partners do to hurt the kids can be seen as anything other than good.

Even watching her boyfriend beat up her brother? Receiving second hand Christmas gifts? Lying making the partner look a fool? When will our kids wake up and smell the coffee?

So we bring our children up. We love them live for them. Give them our life. What do they do in return?

Dump us as soon as they get what they think a better offer.

If only my X would help with this but sadly, he doesn’t know how bad it is for my boy. How can my friend’s daughter turn so against her family?

What on earth do us as parents do wrong?

How did this mess happen?

I’m not sure how much more of this I can take?

I really wish we had not moved here, even though we can get out more here and the people are so much friendlier in this area. When I say area, I mean immediate.

As of course north East people are wonderful and renound for it.

I made my Son stewed steak for tea. And he loved it. I was fearful as couldn’t taste it being a vegetarian. But teen said it was lovely. I made mash with cheese too and Yorkshire puddings.

Right, I can’t hear my computer talk even though I have earphones, there is music blasting upstairs. So shall go for now. Xx

NEWS VIEWS FOR BLOGGETS

A man has been remanded in custody after appearing in court charged with the murder of his identical twin brother, who died after a fight on New Year's Eve.

We all have this idealistic idea, that twins get on so well, but I have twin brother in laws, and until two years ago, I can imagine that one would quite easily harm the other one. Thank God they now get on.

Margaret Thatcher drew up plans to declare a state of emergency and call in troops to move coal at the height of the miners' dispute in 1984, government documents reveal.

Well, just as you can’t expect pit men to fight in the army, you could not get soldiers to dig for coal. It’s a specialist matter/field. But she was an idiot, so thank God its history.

A white floral wreath in the shape of a two-fingered salute accompanied the hearse carrying the coffin of Great Train Robber Ronnie Biggs as mourners gathered for his funeral.

Well, obviously a person with no respect but the funeral was for a person of a similar way of thinking..

SHOCKING video has emerged showing the final moments of a 100mph motorway chase involving a Dudley man with his three young children in the car.

Wow, would you as a Mother allow that man to take your kids out again?

When users compose messages that include links to a third- party website, Facebook scans the content of the message, follows the link and searches for information to profile the message-sender's Web activity, violating the Electronic Communications Privacy.

Doesn’t surprise me.

Michael Schumacher's former team brings coachloads of fans to the hospital where he is fighting for his life on his 45th birthday.

It has been reported, that the fans gave a one minute silence out of respect. Oh Gosh, I found this weird. That is normally what you do when someone is dead?

It’s awful I think to do that. Yes, pray or carry banners with messages of get well, but flowers and silence is all too odd.

Scientists have discovered thousands of pieces of plastic submerged on the riverbed of the upper Thames Estuary, threatening wildlife in the river and the sea it feeds into.

Well, let’s hope that something will be done about it? And fines will be made for those who dump rubbish.

The Mars One project has whittled its 200,000 video applicants down to just 1,058, who will compete for a place on the entirely hypothetical one-way trip to the Red Planet to establish a human colony.

As you know Bloggets, I believe that is how earth started. Through another planet crashing into ours and aliens landing on earth.

Why don’t we send all the serious criminals up there?

If you've had shingles before the age of 40, you could be at an increased risk for heart disease and stroke. According to Counsel & Heal, researchers followed individuals for an average of 6.3 years after they had contracted shingles.

God, that is one thing I haven’t had.

More than a third of all adults across the world are overweight or obese, a UK think-tank says.

OK, I have got that…

In a large study of Swedish men, further evidence has emerged of the smoking link to cataract development in the eye, with addiction to 15 cigarettes a day raising the risk of needing a cataract operation by 42%, compared with people who have never smoked

I know there are a few eye conditions that are caused by smoking.

OMEGA-3 oils, known to be beneficial to human health, are usually found in the tissues of marine fish, but researchers in the UK have engineered an oilseed plant to produce it instead.

Oh I love that news, as I as a vegetarian would benefit.

Just shows though how rare our fish will become and the government know it.

OK Bloggets, get your teeth into todays news page. Views please? X

TREES TRAINS AND FLEES

Good day to you all. Well, the weather is starting to show its ugly head again, I have never known it be so stormy in the UK. It’s mild, but so windy. Sunny too, and yet, we have warnings through our media, to be very aware of what is to come.

Today is the day our tree’s come down. So Hub in the loft and precariously, we will remove the glass baubles and decorations from our two trees and then, we will try to get our real huge tree from the conservatory, to the back garden, to wait for a magical fairy, to come and sweep it up and away, and carry it off to bring back to life world, in fairy land.

Either that, or wait for the council to come out and take it away? Haha. I must phone them actually to ask if they do collect and if so how much, as nothing is for nothing now days.

We are booking train tickets today to go back to the place we went to a few weeks ago. To see Hubs Christmas present. It’s another big band we are seeing in the lovely venue where we went before Christmas.

It’s the train station I really struggle with.

My friend I went to visit yesterday, did I tell you she has five cats?

All of their names spell the word Flees, so on her Christmas cards, she can write from Yvonne and Flees.

My friends Husband is the one who in October, was told his heart was in a critical state and needed an emergency operation. Well, he is still waiting.

Good old NHS.

So I was a little anxious of him driving us yesterday.

I hope they sort themselves out soon; I would hate anything to happen to him.

OK, loads to do now so shall go for now, take care because I care. X

A LONG WAY FOR LUNCH

Hi Bloggets, just a quick catch up as not long we have been in. We went today to see our friends from Northumberland. We only had a few hours, as had to leave all of the dogs. Thank God the trains were all on time, as we had two trains to catch, my friends Husband was at the station at Northumberland, which is a dreadful platform, rather narrow and the trains fly past. I can imagine there are lots of casualties there, our friends Husband said that there was a note, on the wall, to call the Samaritans if needing to talk… Apparently there are a load of suicides there.

Awful.

Anyway, we went to our friend’s house then after we had a small drink to see the New Year in, we went across the road and had a delicious meal made by our friend who is an amazing chef.

A three course meal with coffee afterwards.

Oh her house is really beautiful. They live in the part I lived in two houses ago. A part of Northumberland where that area of the town, is full of stuck up hard faced rich people, but our two friends are the exception.

Our friend’s house where we had the meal, her house must be worth over £340,000. Same house here where I live now would be worth half a million and in London, two million.

Funny isn’t it, how same house price, changes where ever you live? There are parts of the old city the main city where I lived nine miles from,, where the same house again; you would get for £89,000

Crazy, but this house is beautiful in a posh area, but with heartless people.

I hated living there, lots of long stories about there.

The house I lived in last with my Hub, was a beautiful house, area was not as nice and people were not so posh, but the house was beautiful. Now, this house where we live now, not a posh house, area not wonderful, but the people are so lovely, probably the best house I have lived in for friendly neighbours.

Our meal was mushrooms with some kind of cheese, then there were stuffed peppers and the face eating people had some kind of fish pate.

Next we had delicious roast potatoes, loads of vegetables with cauliflower cheese and Hub and the meat eaters had chicken breast with bacon I had a wonderful fritter she made with lentils and cheese also other things and there was green beans and roasted cherry tomatoes. Homemade bread too and for dessert, two choices, also homemade.

I couldn’t move when I got from the table. I needed a trolley for my stomach. Hahahhahaha.

When I told my friend, cheeky monkey said, how about a bed on wheels?

Hehehehehe. What?

It’s not that big?

“Stop it?

Anyway, we got home and now chilling. My boy not hear but he did let the dogs out in between work. Oh they have been so bad with his pay. For two months he worked there, they have underpaid him every time. Now he has worked every day but Christmas, and he has come out with less than half his waige.

Really messing him about.

Firstly tried to tax him when he first started working there, well, he doesn’t pay tax until he is eighteen. And the past two pays, have been less than half what he should have been paid.

OK, tomorrow, the Christmas decorations come down.

So hard work all day.

Hope you have had a lovely day? More later my friends. X

MOTHER OF THE NORTHERN SEA BY FIONA CUMMINGS

MOTHER OF THE NORTHERN SEA

BY FIONA CUMMINGS

Crashing waves in front of me

The roaring violent sea

Was awoken by me

Power I didn’t know I had

To make the calm turn bad

A green blue blanket chased me

Performed an act of terror

An assault

I faced the horror

Tears of salt

Angry furious punches through me to the ground

I was oblivious to what was all around

Swallowed by the monster from the sands

Helpless I held out my hands

Trying to grab anything insight

I put up a fight

Slam, into a sharp rock

Cuts and blistered

From nature

Thrown up to the cool frost of the northern air

Rags of shelled like coating filmed over my hair

Torn skin

Deep fear within

Crimson waters surrounded me

Eaten by the angry sea

Just let me be

Then I could see

What was in front of me

A beautiful mermaid circled her arms around my body

She took her long gold locks and washed the rusty coat which was salty

Smiled to me and showed love so plenty

Removed the curtain which was really heavy

Lay me down on a mossy cover

I saw the doves and gulls hover

She was the oceans Mother

She saved me

From the Northern sea

A second chance

I was in a trance

I floated through fields of snowdrops

I drank the heavenly raindrops

I fed from fresh crops

I dried from the sun of yellow

I felt ever so mellow

At peace at last

After a terrifying blast

A sleep now

I felt feathered like fingers wipe my brow

What had become of me

I was there but how?
