BURNING TEARS BY FIONA CUMMINGS

BURNING TEARS

BY FIONA CUMMINGS

Tears are burning

My fate I’m learning

 My insides are churning

For another day has passed

 More challenges to face

No longer worrying about the past

It’s the time and the place

The future we are facing

The life that will be waiting

The heart that will be breaking

The mistakes which we are making

The feelings that need waking

The emotions which need to stop faking

The false accusation

The constant frustration

The air of hate

 Time has to wait

Let it escape

Then lock the gate

Never look back

Not even through the crack

And when you are older

Don’t feel like you have to look over your shoulder

As what goes around comes around

Just stand by and wave as it passes you by

Don’t let it see the tears you will cry

Don’t let them see your acid pain

Or they will return to make you bleed again

Deemons calling By Fiona Cummings

DEEMONS CALLING

BY FIONA CUMMINGS

She came at him with a spear

No conscience without any fear

As she stabbed at his heart

Tearing limbs until his body was apart

Soaked by his blood

Removing all that was good

Smashing his head with a plank of wood

Not stopping until he was gone

Finished him off she knew she should

But then in the way

One summer’s day

An angel stepped in between them

Spreading their wings until she was blocked

Wrapping silver strands around her neck until she choked

Leaving her gasping on the ground

No one to help

Silence around

Her gold wealth couldn’t help her now

Lines of torture on her punishing brow

Who would want her

If they found her

Who would warm her with freshly stained fur

Who would lay her down on fine silk

Feed her with creamed milk

Pick her fruit from the blooming tree

For sure not me

SLOW

I am sure this day is playing tricks on me. It has been the longest day ever in my life, I’m sure. God knows why? Perhaps it’s because I have not been to sleep since yesterday morning? Or something else? Hmm. It could also be the something else? My life is surrounded by mystery, but like everything in my life, well, almost everything, it will be revealed, if only…

Yes if only.

It’s red hot. My window cleaner has been, thanks to the window cleaning society.. Really, they have not been since December of last year. Gross.

Today I realised what a sad life I have and how tragic I have become. Haha. I got excited over a broom for the yard. Yep. Right. Weird?

I had to give myself a talking to. I mean, it’s not the norm to get over enthusiastic, about a yard brush, is it?

I really don’t know what to make for tea. I’m sick of the whole cooking thing. I blooming hate it. Love cooking when Hub is home to help, as its fun with the two of us, laughing at what foods we discover, with our shaking rattling and squeezing test.

My little Waggatail has been rather calm and well behaved today. A bit worrying as tomorrow, she has to behave?

It’s almost four and I have not yet had any food that would be considered healthy. I have had some chocolate and toast. That is not good. My stomach is playing a symphony under water. Yesterday I ate nothing but four tiny triangles of sandwiches and some more chocolate. I have got out of stupid eaten, but of late, things have been so different.

My Hub won’t be home till late. He is in Nottingham. So a two hour train journey then his taxi home. Not bad compared to what it used to be at his old place.

I’m not sure I have done the right thing, but I have booked teen in for a new driving instructor. He hasn’t got too many left to do so a change is as good as a rest do you think?

My close to retiring lap top has just made that sound which is not very helpful. It’s low on batteries again. So will go for now but chat later.

NEWS VIEWS AND MORE

Hi Bloggets. I hope you are all well? Today I have been out with my friend. We went to the shops and had a great girly day. She is the only friend I have ever been out with who is fun and who actually enjoys shopping. It has been red hot today and raining parts too. Now, I’m in my conservatory waiting for my Husband coming home. It’s almost nine in the evening. My Hub will be tired. He left the house at quarter to eight and isn’t home yet. After work, he went to our local society to do more work but this time volunteering. It does wind me up ever so slightly, as it’s not easy work and not only is it just for the meeting tonight, but there is always something to do for the society after the night of the meeting, but he is on the board, so feels obligated.

I bought a microwave a couple of weeks ago and it’s broken already. My boy checked the fuse and it’s not that. It was not deer, but at the same time, almost £50, so that should last more than two weeks? I used it about three times. So I have fed teen and now Hubs dinner is trying to keep warm in the oven. I think it will be cold time he gets in, as he is coming home by bus.

I’m not really having any tea, not hungry. I had four triangles of sandwiches when I was out with my friend. I have a head ache from hell, but that may be because the devil is too close. Read between the lines?

My Son has been rather active this week. I’m pleased to say he is almost finished his course at college. Pleased so we can relax for a while, hopefully he will get his results he wants, I’m sure he will, he is very very clever and years ahead as far as maturity is concerned, just likes to be the class clown, and I must admit, when he is clowning around, he is hysterical.

But hysterics, the tutors are not keen on right?

We are going on holiday in a few weeks. I found a great price. We so need this break. Hub and I have had a tough year with his job situation and not knowing our future as far as finances go, or whether or not we would have to sell this house, but thank Goodness, he found another job, half his previous pay, but still enough to be able to stay here.

So much going on in the Blogget household right now, so much. Can’t really go into it though.

In a couple of days, I’m off with Hub to de stress the students. Hahaha. That day will be interesting; we are going to our local University.

Tomorrow Hub is working in Nottingham. So over a 12 hour day again, but a short one after that.

So now its some hours later after I wrote the above

After two in the morning. I have not been to sleep yet. Still have this awful head ache. Its stress, I know it is. Even my P pod didn’t get me to sleep tonight.

I’m downstairs having a cup of tea.

In four hours, my Husband has to be up for the day. And I haven’t been to sleep yet.

I guess I should try soon? Or maybe not?

Before I go, here’s some news which grabbed my attention from Google news.

Schools will be told they must promote “British values” in the classroom in the wake of the Birmingham “Trojan Horse” investigation into allegations of a takeover of the city's schools by hard-line Islamists.

“At last, something is going to be done about this. It’s so awful the stories coming out about these schools.”

A four-day summit on sexual violence in war is to begin in London, hosted by UK Foreign Secretary William Hague and UN Special Envoy Angelina Jolie.

“My God, that will get the tourists excited? Will there be queues for this event?”

Two attacks in which three men were sprayed with a liquid, thought to be ammonia, near a nightclub in south London are being treated by police as homophobic crimes.

“This is so horrible. What’s wrong with people?”

TV licence evaders and motorists caught speeding on the motorway face a fourfold increase in fines. The maximum penalty in a magistrates' court for not buying a TV licence will leap from £1,000 to £4,000.

“I wonder where the fines go to. Charity? Hmm.”

Driverless - or 'autonomous' - cars may be commonplace by 2020, some analysts say, and are touted by proponents as more sustainable than their driven counterparts.

“The future is scary. WE will end up like space. Flying cars and cars we just sit in and command. Very weird. Do you get the impression one day we will have no decisions to make on our own? Everything will be decided and not by humans.”

A daily “tomato pill” could ward off heart disease, according a study that pins down one of the key benefits of the Mediterranean diet.

“This sounds fantastic, but I hope it’s not one of those stories of help and cures, and then we never hear anything from that again?

The economic cost of supporting someone with autism over a lifetime is much higher than previously thought, research suggests. It amounts to £1.5m in the UK and $2.4m in the US for individuals with the highest needs, say UK and US experts.

“So what are we to do about this? Find a cure? Kill the people who need help? Let’s hope the first suggestion? Crazy.”

Well, my eyes are now closing, so I shall retire for now and chat a little later. X

LITTLE BIRD BY FIONA CUMMINGS

LITTLE BIRD

BY FIONA CUMMINGS

I flew from the nest

Wanted to be faster than the rest

But I got lost

No excuse

No winds or frost

I just flew into the open window

Then I was so slow

I didn’t know where to go

Trapped inside

Opened my mouth I cried

My brother looked at me

From a cherry tree

He was helpless

I was hopeless

How did I get into here?

Surrounded by fear

No help was near

My tiny heart almost burst

Dying of thirst

I just wanted to be first

Out of the nest

Better than the rest

Impatient me

I wanted to feel free

Away from my shell they called home

Forests I so wanted to roam

Old collected twigs and dried out leaves

I used to peer out hearing my Mum say “Please

Wait your turn

And one day you will be top of that fern

Ruling the skies

Other birds will say

Look how he flies?

Take your time little bird

Look around

Ask what others have heard?

Listen to advice

When you get caught

There won’t be the word twice

Feast on some mice

But only when you have watched how to catch them

Patience little bird

Let me have a word

I am your Mum

I know I don’t let you have your kind of fun

But before you run

You must crawl

Right now you are so small

I just don’t want you to fall?

Watch your brothers

Look at others?

Clean your feathers

And prepare yourself

Sit on the shelf

Count to three

Then it will be your time to be free”

But I didn’t listen to my Mums advice

And sitting here afraid

I wonder if this is my twice?

How do I get out of here and get free?

My brother isn’t telling me

Then people surround me in this room I have found myself

Words are said oh such a fuss

I take flight

I will be alright

I looked around as my Mum said

As I have good sight

I did listen to the song of my brother

I just need to hover

Then the people can’t get me

And I can fly free

Well it must have been my lucky day

As there was an open door and I flew away

But from now on

I will listen to every word my Mum will say

I did so wrong

But now I shall sing my song

And when it’s my turn

I will tell my baby’s and hope they will learn

LITTLE BIRD

Hi there, well, today we have had red hot heat for a change. Yesterday sadly we didn’t get to town. It was pouring with rain and standing waiting for busses and our dog and white cane walking and swooshing through the puddles didn’t sound like much fun.  So we stayed at home, had our Saturday tea, I love our Saturday tea’s, they are so different to other meals we have. We had homemade soup, homemade garlic and rosemary bread, French bread, olives, beetroot salad, potato salad and other salads.

A rather interesting week ahead, more on that later. Today just a bit of housework, cooking and this morning, I thought some paper was flapping around our garden. But no, it was a blooming bird in our conservatory. Cheeky thing sat on my couch. Teen tried to get it out but it was just flying into the windows. At last we got it out, but its little friend was peering through the window trying to see it. Then when the bird got out, his friend came and sat on the patio with him. Then they flew away.

If I had been on my own, I would have died? Haha.

Its summer and our dogs are casting badly now. So just groomed them and could quite easily make a winter jumper with the fur.

My friend from Russia, was on the skype last night. It’s odd. She is two miles away, but we are communicating by skype…

OK will go for now, but loads to come this week…. Stay tuned. X

DIARY FOR FRIDAY AND ALL THAT GAS

I have spent hours on the phone. Hub decided in his wisdom to disconnect our house phone so our bills would come down as we use the mobile more than the house phone, so paying for rent for nothing. That’s fine, but the amount of 08 and 09 numbers I have called in the past couple of months is unbelievable. So today I called about the new application called Hive. You control your heating via your smart phone. Great as we can’t set our heating by the timer as it’s a sighted persons tool. So in winter we get up and it’s so cold, even I can see my breath. Hahahehhe.

I got a great offer on the product and I shall let you know when it’s fitted if it works for those without sight, or without enough sight to control your heating.

The funny thing is, my Hub is never cold. In winter I am. So I turn the heating on, he turns it off. We only use the thermostat as I said we can’t set a timer.

So this ap, two people at once can control it. So as he leaves the house, he turns it off and I turn it on. We will have a gas war? Hhehehee

Talking of gas wars, I hope our PM doesn’t’ cause any trouble with Russia’s President? I wish we would mind our own business. Our news yesterday was saying how our wonderful PM….. Hang on till I clear me throat?

Was the first western member to confront the Russian President?

Well bully for him and I am not saying I disagree, but I also believe in keeping your head down?

So tomorrow Hub and I are off to our town. God help us? But looking forward to it. Just getting out. Have not been out apart from the Doctors yesterday for two weeks. I think after our time in town two weeks ago, I have been put off also was in shock for a couple of weeks. Now? Ready to go but only to where we know?

OK the sun is pounding down and I now have to force myself to cook. So much time on line today and the phone. I had to sort out our gas bill as still not receiving our energy bills in Braille format. All this costs a fortune. What with the mobile phone coming in and the constant leaking shower? Hmm. I think we will be in shock soon with wasted money.

With love till later. X

THE SCIENCE OF TIME BY FIONA CUMMINGS

Good morning Bloggets. Well another week has passed. For me it has gone quickly, for Hub he said it has been a slow week. Time, it’s funny really how for some it fly’s and others it goes so slowly? I heard on the grapevine, and that may have been after the person telling me had a few too many of his grape juice, that Einstein was once to have said. “When a man sits with a pretty girl for an hour, it seems like a minute. But let him sit on a hot stove for a minute, and it’s longer than any hour!” That’s relativity.   I know when Hub used to travel abroad, gosh; it went so slowly for me. I keep remembering those days and still shiver, thinking back how alone I felt and how much I missed the contact and conversation of another adult.

Time is not like our senses like for example sight, hearing, taste smell and touch.  With time we don’t so much sense it, but perceive it.

When our brains receive information, it doesn’t necessarily come in the proper order. This information needs to be reorganised and presented to us in a form we understand. When familiar information is processed, this doesn’t take much time at all.  New information, is a bit slower, and makes time feel elongated.

Did you know that in our brain, time is not pin pointed like our senses? There are lots of different areas of our brain which is required for time? Unlike our common five senses, which can be pinpointed by a single specific area.

When we receive new information, our brain takes longer to process it all. The longer this processing takes, the longer time seems to be. An yet when we have received familiar information, because our brain has received that information before, time goes quicker, as our computers, in other words brains, don’t need  downloading, so time goes faster.

It’s seven in the morning. As you may know, my blogs are spontaneous. Haha. I think it’s too early to be scientific, right? My Hub is getting ready for work and for some reason I feel wide awake. I slept very well, listened to my PPod for a few moments, hahaha. It will always be my PPod, never IPod.

I love it. I’m a professional now at ordering on Itunes with the touch screen. I’m always a mile behind other blind people when it comes to technology, but I get there in the end, though the idea of such a gift from Hub at Christmas, terrified the living daylights out of me.

OK already talking of brains, mine is focussed on what’s for tea for the boys? Hmm. It’s salt and pepper chicken. For me? Not sure yet. I’m thinking what jobs need doing today too. At least the sun is out. My canary, Irish you know, is singing and flying around his cage. I love him, and I love his song. The Irish canary sings so beautifully in comparison to other canary’s. I hope my dogs behave today? My Hubs LC has gone to work with him. She stayed with me yesterday and the three of them really acted up. Like naughty children, but the cute thing was, my Son described looking out of the window as I tried to get Waggatail in the house from the yard, and she would not come in. He said how cute, I said I will give her cute if she doesn’t come in? He said she was walking around the garden, then walked into her little dog run and did her business, then back out to sniff and play, then went back in her dog run to do something else. That is quite cute, I must admit. Most dogs would just do it anywhere, right? Hmm. My old girl Black beauty does.

OK on that  image on your brain, haha. I shall go for now. Take care of yourselves and I will be back later. With love, you’re faithful Fifi Blogget.

DOCTOR AND THE DOG

Hi Bloggets. OK, so today I went to the Doctors. My Son went with me and Waggatail. We talked all the way about life in general and how proud I am of him. He speaks to people as we pass who talk to us and he is so clever, so charming and just a beautiful soul. He did something today that I am so proud of him for doing. I know he felt good about it too. Now cycling on his way to college to do extra work/catch up.

Waggatail was not her best today. Sniffing every corner, reaching for something that teen told me was a take away bag, from a nasty food shop.

She was lagging behind, stopping every five minutes. The fresh air woke us up. My boy came in through the night at two and I couldn’t sleep until about three this morning, then Hubs alarm went off at seven.

So let’s hope I will sleep tonight? I don’t feel ill or anything with no sleep, I’m used to it.

Ok, we sat waiting for the Doctor to call my name. She’s a lovely Doctor, so interested in how I cope in life, asking all sorts of questions, not like how is your health, let’s check your blood pressure or anything like that, but “How do you know what foods are? Hahahah. Bless her. I don’t mind her asking as she is genuinely interested.  It’s  something I guess she looks upon as a sort of amazement and she really has some kind of odd fascination with the blind world, but not in a nasty or patronising manner.

Anyway, she will refer me to an eye specialist. That day I am dreading. It’s been six years since I saw a specialist and I don’t like them. Always full of doom and gloom.

But I need to get this blur checked out. For someone who has not seen anything for sixteen years, it’s just odd. Like a dirty mark on my eye.

So out of there, and home. Had some lunch with my boy did some housework and now talking to you before making tea and more house work?

How long will I wait for an appointment? Hmm. Let’s see? And of course I will have to go on my own. Dreading that. X

THE BLUR BEFORE ME

Well, I went to bed and now back up again. It’s been a while since I did this. As I lay in bed, I could hear the peacefulness of the sounds of silence.

It was like painting a picture of a room full of neglected musical instruments. So all the brass section on the left. Percussion at the back and the dusty piano on the right. A couple of guitars laying on the stage, looking rather battered as though an after party for an aging rock star.

The stage curtains hung without pleat or any kind of starch in them.

Turned over chairs and small tables with half empty wine bottles and frothy beer glasses. Huge ashtrays with buts of stressed out addicts imprints left on them.

A real brawl had obviously taken place at this down town club. Broken chandeliers, a reminder of when class tried to introduce itself to this place.

The odd picture on the wall of a blonde, buxom babe, from the 1950’s, with trashy blood red lipstick on. Another hanging from one nail, tilted as the other support obviously fell out, of an old fashioned car, with a couple in, him wearing a top hat, and her, a head scarf, again, smoking, as this club, was from a time when that was allowed.

The floor, faded blue. Was once denim in colour, now dirty and decidedly in need for re newel, as was the wall paper, which wore drooping blooms of hideous peach and dark green leaves with a mushroom background. Not at all rock and roll.

I was alone in this place and I didn’t like the atmosphere, though I was sure behind one of the many closed doors, was a sinister person, waiting for the right moment.

So I left my bed and came for a chat. Haha. OK, my mind is crazy. It was working overtime; My Husband says so many times, he would love to be in my head for a day. I tell him and you, he wouldn’t. My mind is crazy, mixed up and all the time wishing to create art through my words. Always wanting to remember a sudden poem that may come to me at quarter to two in the morning, or a novel idea at ten past four in the early hours of a new day.

Seriously though, lying there, the streets were quiet, apart from the nearby road groaning a vehicle passing at a tired speed of “Can’t be bothered miles per hour!”

At least the birds haven’t started to sing to me. Not yet anyway and I hope to go back to bed before they do. I’m not too sure about being serenaded before I have had any sleep.

Waiting, just waiting for my boy to come home. He left at nine and said he would be back at two. It’s now twenty to two. So I hope not long? I just can’t sleep until I know he is safe home. I know who he is with so that is fine, but he is riding his bike back on his own, through the night. It’s too much to think about.

Oh, when I last spoke to you, I was about to iron my Husbands shirt for work today and make him a sandwich. Gosh, reminded me in a hurry, why I’m a vegetarian. The meat I made for the sandwich was totally gross. God only knows what it really was? I think turkey’s skin. Really it was horrible. It cost a fortune too. Really I should have binned it and given him something else. I don’t know how they dare sell that muck?

OK, I shall leave you now as the darkness is about to suffocate me. If only I could turn on a light and see it? I don’t feel right tonight sitting here, normally it’s the best time to write, but right now too much going on. Anyway, as I also said in my last blog, I’m off to the Doctors tomorrow/today. To see if he/she will refer me to the eye specialist, to see about this white/blur on my eye. Then it’s the waiting game. Not looking forward to that. I hate going to the eye hospital. Really I do. They treat you so badly. Like a piece of meat. They don’t care about your feelings and thrive in the fact that your eye disease is rare and call to their colleagues to have a poke and look at me.

To come out feeling like the end of the world is near. I remember the days with my x when after a visit to the hospital, we both felt such dread. Perhaps I am wrong in wanting to know what the mark is. I’m just afraid it’s something growing behind my eye. It’s linked I think with the lump I have had for some years now, but the fog/blur/white light is new, well, about five months now I have had this.

If anyone else with Retinitis pigmentosa has had this experience, please let me know? I have had my cataracts removed from both eyes about six years ago.

I hope it’s not that returning? The medics said it could come back.

OK, goodnight for the second time in such few hours. X

BLOG BEFORE BED

A quick blog before bed. It’s still raining. But I think it’s going to be fine tomorrow? I am off to the Doctors in the morning, to see about my eye. I shall let you know how I get on. My boy has had a busy day. And my Hub worked hard in his office. He said that LC was a bit naughty today in the office. Haha. That’s my girl?

Wagga also naughty at home. She has been biting my poor old Black Beauty today. She bullies her all the time and my poor old BB just cries. I wouldn’t blooming care, but if I give her a treat, she almost draws blooming blood. She has one heck of a bite on her. Really, these are guide dogs? Haha.

Life is interesting in the Fifi Blogget household

So much going on.

Again changes. Lots of them. And I will have so much to write about soon. I’m trying to get things together to sort out a holiday for the three of us. Planning and sorting out some money. So loads to chat about but not just yet as have a lot to think about first.

My Husband has completed all of his six month courses, in just a month, so he is happy with that. There is so much going on at work for him. You wouldn’t believe his job? For sure it’s not boring. My word, he has turned over so many leaves. So many, I think the staff think its autumn?

OK, talking of work, I have to go and iron his shirt for tomorrow. Also make his lunch. God, I thought I had got over lunch making days with my x? Haha. I don’t mind though, my x used to eat for England. Hub just takes a couple of sandwiches.

More tomorrow, but for now with love, nighty night. X

A WEEK OF RAIN BY FIONA CUMMINGS

A WEEK OF RAIN

BY FIONA CUMMINGS

How much rain?

It’s here again

Every day for a week

So blooming bleak

But sitting here in my conservatory

I am not full of misery

Quite the opposite

I love to hear on the glass the pitter pat pit

The sounds of millions of wet feathers

Beating down on the drum of sound

The splashing of the cars which go by

Is the rain someone from a high?

Are the silver droplets tears?

All the aliens fears?

Whatever brings the rain to us we should be grateful

As the flowers after a drink are so beautiful

The baby ducklings play

In the vast nearby lake

Look at the protective drake?

And the swans floating past

They know that the rain won’t last

The sun will put on its hat

And that will be that

For another day

The umbrellas will go away

And after such rain

Nothing is the same

The smells are amazing

I love walking after the fall of water

The smells from the grass and flowers

The grey sky and the butterfly

Colours so contrasting

You want that moment to be ever lasting

But we have the sun, then the rain, then the winds and of course the snow

One season moves in the other will go

How lucky we are in Britain

To be able to see such changes

Shades of silver yellows and oranges

Greens and gold’s too

The most amazing blue

We do like to complain

“Oh no not the rain again?

But it’s fresh and without water we would not have life

So let’s look on the side of the bright

For in the sky from another land

In a giants hand

Is a watering can

Pouring us gifts from his ocean

Mixing us a magic potion

Of sun, flakes of snow

So we shall have all we need for life of hope

The rain as I sit here is fading now

Who is turning it off and how?

Our life is amazing don’t you think?

Next time say thanks for your fresh drink

If it’s wet you can always wear boots or a coat

Take a boat?

Do the birds on the lake complain?

No, they just float

I guess what I’m saying is don’t moan

Except your environment, you’re very own zone.

THE ANSWER?

Hi Bloggets, how are you today? Hub is working from home today; he has one of his colleagues here for the afternoon. I’m up in his office. I managed to find a seat after moving three coats and his suit from his chair… I’m not even going to look on his desk; I’ve just found enough room to park my lap top on there. At least the floor seams tidy. He never comes in here now, as he works from downstairs. His new job he is finding interesting. He is so clever and knows so much. He always ups me but to be honest, I am going through a bad stage right now where I am feeling so rubbish. I have tried to write short stories that among my friends have been very successful, so I thought I would self publish on Amazon, but sadly sight is even needed for that as I was not aware but you need to create a cover for your book. To do this you need software. To do that you need to see.

My angels I spoke of yesterday seemed to have left me. Last night, the devil returned and with more fire that was thrown with forks at someone I love dearly. This person getting hurt will not face reality. I ache for him. I really do.

I’m glad to say that my x and I are getting on fine now. Thank God. I really hate the bad feeling between us.

So the birds are singing and the weather is lovely. Ol phoned me last night. I think her Son, daughter in law and Grand Son are out to the coast today. Olga is in the flat working. She says she loves the flat and I am delighted she does, I did wonder if it would be good enough for her daughter in law. Sadly babykins is ill. But let’s hope the fresh air will do him good today? Trouble is, they protect him so much wiping every toy with a disinfective cloth, so the baby has no chance of building up an immune system.

I think D my friends Son is loving the UK. I hope so, I mean, if you have the money, what’s not to like about it? Apart from the weather of course. We have had heavy rain for days, but this is what makes our countryside so lush and incredibly beautiful. Though the family from Russia have not seen beyond our city so far.

My boy has a driving lesson tonight. Did I tell you he passed his theory? First time. I was so proud of him. It was a boost he needed. College is tough right now. He has four weeks left on this course. Will he do the second year? Only time will tell. We should find out over the next few weeks.

It’s Hub and my anniversary in a couple of weeks. Four years for us. My God. What we have been through in those short years? More things than most couples go through in 25 I should say.

We always seem to have worries in our life. Financial, work, something going wrong with the house, teen, our friends being ill. I hope soon just to live. You know? Just live. We already go through so much both of us not being able to see; just normal things to sighted people are such a struggle to us. That we can cope with and together we are a team. I love him so much he is amazing. I love his brain. His achievements in life are like no one I have ever met before.

Oh must tell you this, it may make you smile.

Yesterday he did an interview, he was asked some questions. One of them was what is his favourite book he has ever read? Haha. Now this interview was for a guide dog magazine called forward. It’s for people interested in guide dogs. As he works now for them, he is featured next month. His answer? Remember the important word (DOG)

 Oh my God?

OK on that note, I shall go and do some ironing, then must order the weekly shopping. I hope you all will bear with me and I shall write more tomorrow, I hope I will have some inspirational writing to do for you? I’m just not top of my tree right now. I hope you are not in the same place? If you are and you are reading this, know you are worth so much to me, as without my team of Bloggets, I would really feel like I am pointless in this world. X

ANGELS, PLEASE HEAR MY VOICE?

The word Angel means messenger. Saints I have heard can also be angels, but I think Saints should be real people who have died. At the end of the day, who really knows? Only angels!

My friend Daniel, who is the oracle of life and beyond, told me that there is a passage from the bible which quotes. “When the Sons of God went unto the daughters of men and they bore children to them.”

He says some, have suggested that they have had sexual affairs with mortal women.

Well I know everyone already thinks I am a screw short of a tool box, and my Hub begs me not to tell this story but I do and I don’t care what people say, but my baby I believe came from angels, even though of late, the angels have been battling with the devil.

I pray that the angels around my Son and me protect him and guide him in the right direction. I have this very strong belief but I also have a brain that tells me not to be so silly, that angels are busy. Why would they help a person like me? I mean, here I am in a comfortable house, husband has a job, Son has his health, how dare I ask for more? So when I pray to the angels, I am riddled with guilt, but desperate moments are upon us right now.

My brain is also telling me or should I say asking me. “If there is such a thing as angels, why have they not become more clearly to us? I mean, I want to believe in them, but I have not had100 % proof as yet, though a couple of weeks ago, I had the most evidence to date for me personally, that they do exist. I have written before about my experience with something standing so very tall on a bright summer’s morning at the bottom of my bed. It was when I could see. All the outside sounds faded and this seven foot figure stood before me. Its wings spread out about six foot and he, and I say he, as that was the feeling I got, and it was a feeling like I have not had before this moment, had long silver hair and no features, and though I know had a kind face.

I won’t bore you with what happened as I did blog it some time ago, but again, I saw this, and again, my brain told me I imagined it.

Though the more I say this, the more I disbelieve it. Too much happened that day for it to be in my imagination.

So I have a feeling that this week is crucial. I can only ask so much and I’m begging every day for a certain thing to happen. Now then, if it does, I will know for sure that angels do exist as the thing I am asking for is impossible. It just won’t happen. Unless my angels help out. And who are my angels? Am I being greedy? Should I only have one? But if every one person had one angel, there would be too many, right? I think there must only be a few of them and they just work so very hard. And why do they work for us? Or are they working for our maker? Hmm. So many questions that we will never know the answers, an yet this subject really fascinates me and so many others.

Like my friend Daniel, we both wonder where the angels got their names from, like Gabriel. As far as my friend tells me, their names are not all in the bible.

Are angels another race? I believe so. They come from another planet I’m certain.

They have wings so they can fly. As for their long white gowns/dresses? Are they clothes or just rocket shapes and the white are the lights? As my faithful regular Bloggets will know, I believe we come from another planet so this will relate to this theory.

I love angels. I love their meaning and position in our lives. Some say angels come in different forms. Perhaps they do, but for me my angel has yet to introduce itself to me. I have had feelings of angels around me in forms of lights, feelings and fragrances, but no one has said. “Hi I’m your angel. Oh wouldn’t’ it be wonderful if that were to happen? Having said that, I think sitting on my own right now and one came to me, I would be saying Hi to my neighbours. I am not sure I could stay in an empty house with one? Being flippant now, that is not really funny as I really am serious about wishing I had an angel, when I did have that sighting the years when my sight was OK, For some odd reason, I was not at all afraid. I remember feeling so very calm about it all. My heart felt out of pain for the first time in my life. I wanted to go with the being at the bottom of my bed, but they told me in a whisper of a silent voice, to stay. I had to stay.

So now dear angel, please come and hear what I really need your help with right now? Please?

TANZANIA

Today we have a new Blogget and I hope this person will come back. They are from Tanzania

This stunning country contains a kaleidoscope of landscape, wildlife and people that is infinite in variety. The boundless stretches of savannah are dotted with herds of wildebeest, zebra, gazelle and other plains animals, while a lion or cheetah is stalking through the tall dry grass.

The warriors are dancing in the warm hues of sunset, and the stretches of silver beach fringed with palms swaying in the warm ocean breeze.  Dawns breaks the early morning mists over shimmering deep blue lakes; rivers snaking their way through parched land with ribbons of green on either side celebrating the joy of life with all the animals around.  The rich tropical forests are filled with the rioting sounds of life that somehow stays invisible; a monolithic snow-capped peak rising out of and floating majestically over parched and dusty plains. You will find all this and more in Tanzania.

The majority of modern Tanzanians are descendants of Bantu-speaking people who came eastwards from the Niger Delta around 1,000 BC. They arrived in East Africa in the first century AD. Also around that time, merchant vessels from the Red Sea and southern Arabia discovered Tanzania’s shores. These merchants took advantage of Tanzania’s ivory and loaded their ships with slaves. Islam was introduced to the coast between the 8th and 10th centuries.

Food

The cuisine of Tanzania relies mainly on grains, rice, spices and fruits, with meats like chicken and fish being reserved for special occasions. Dishes vary depending on where one visits. For example, the coast offers a great deal of seafood with many people saying the best seafood is on Zanzibar. Swahili style of food includes the use of spices and coconut milk, as well as rice, fish and prawn curries. Dar es Salaam is a cosmopolitan city and offers a variety of international cuisines. Hotels and lodges tend to serve western and international styled food.

Popular dishes include:

Ugali: This dish involves white corn, cassava and millet or sorghum flour that is mixed with water and salt then boiled until it reaches a porridge-like consistency. Ugali is traditionally eaten with hands and is the most common dish in Tanzania.

Pilau: This dish is similar to rice pilaf and is usually eaten as a communal dish. It consists of spiced rice, meat, chicken or fish, vegetables and nuts. Cinnamon is sometimes added making it a sweet dish.

Chapatti: This is a warm flatbread similar to those found in the Middle East. It is made from flour, water, oil, salt and onions and is usually eaten with a stew or with ugali.

Vitumbua: This is a fried sweet bread commonly served by street vendors. People tend to eat it as a snack between meals.

Nayama: This dish consists of minced beef, garlic, coconut lime and tomatoes.

Ndizi Kaanga: This is a popular dessert in Tanzania made from fried bananas or plantations, flavoured with brown sugar, lemon juice, nutmeg and butter. (Bananas and plantations are staples to the Tanzanian diet).

Duckling Dar es Salaam: This is a Tanzanian delicacy, made from duckling cooked with tomatoes, red peppers and onions.

Drink

Tea is the most popular drink in Tanzania with the locals preferring chai tea. Coffee is another favourite and is often sold by street vendors. Local beers include Kibo Gold, Serengeti Lager and Tusker, while mbege is a beer made from bananas. Along the coast and on the islands, the majority of the population are Muslim and so while alcohol is sold in tourist hotels, it is not available in local restaurants. Fruit juices from pineapple, orange, tamarind and sugar cane also help quench thirsts in Tanzania.

Things to Know:

Tipping is not expected, but it is certainly appreciated when good service is given.

Drinking age:

18

In Tanzanian culture, the fuller figure, the better. Being large is a sign of wealth. “Gosh, I would be a millionaire!”

They also have sand tornado’s. Well, I welcome our new Blogget and thank you for your interesting country.

A SHORT WEEKEND

Good day friends. How was your weekend? Mine was rather quiet. We spent most of it no, all of it in the garden. Realising we have lost our garden tools again, not happy. Who knows where they are. But I think they have walked to a new garden courtesy of someone’s pocket. So many of our tools go missing. It’s so annoying that this happens. Hub was going to try to get rid of the ivy, as it’s making its rather forward face back to our wall. Then before we know it, it’s coming up to greet us as we step outside of our door.

My friend Olga emailed me. She spoke of how lovely her flat is. How the views of the river were stunning as the geese flew by and the trees shaded the people dressed in fine clothing as they passed by the all different coloured boats on the water. From her balcony she could see this.

Her Son Grand Son and daughter in law were out. The daughter in law came back yesterday for a few days.

The heat is amazing today. In fact I’m burnt. I really will have to get some sun tan lotion. My face only left side and left arm is as though I have third degree burns.

We had a delicious tea tonight. Quiche, green peppers, olives, fresh beetroot, new potatoes, celery and packoras. They were amazing. Oh my boy had some pasta from last night’s tea too.

An interesting weekend. I have been in close contact with my angels. Which inspires me for my next blog, so more later. x
