SO I HAVEN'T GOT A DOUBLE

Good morning Dearest Bloggets. Today the sun is shining in my part of the world. How long for? Hmm. Only the skies know. Oh, unless you check the forecast of course, hahaehehe. Sorry. I shall put my sensible head on.

Now then, where did I put it?

*two hours later, can’t find it so back to my blog.*

Here I am in Hubs office. He is downstairs with his colleague in our. Em, My, conservatory, whilst I’m stuck in his bloody awful messy office. Oh I try my best not to come in here as used to feel compelled to tidy it up. Got wrong every time, as Hub obviously enjoys climbing over mountains of junk to get to his desk, so now not to tidy, I stay out. You should see it? You know those cupboards under the stairs you have, they start off quite tidy. “A handy cupboard!”

Then you chuck something in. Then you throw something else in. Then you have mayhem and next time you go to the cupboard, things fall out, after that, things jump out for freedom. Then things obviously get angry, as they then dive out and attack you. Well?

That’s Hubs office.

I’m glad he didn’t bring his colleague up here, as she would have had to get in touch with health and safety. Perhaps pest control? Hahaha.

Glad he doesn’t read my blogs. So shush. Say nothing.

OK, yesterday and my garden lady. OMG?

My friend and I bought some nice things from our garden centre up the road. Well, the gardener didn’t like any of what I bought.

Now where I wanted to put things, garden lady said no. It would look awful. Now, as you know Bloggets, I’m far from confident outside in the roads/streets, but around my castle and grounds.

Well, OK, my house and gardens, I know what I want and I blooming get what I want too.

Until yesterday.

Then Yugoslavia spoke.

In her fantastic accent, she told me she was going to bang Hub on the

“Blardi heid”

(Translation by Fibing)

Bloody head.

Oh she went on and on and on. Hahahaha. Then she wanted to throw my tomatoe plants out. Telling me I will never get “Blardi froot, hahah. From them

I told her I would make her a tomato and basil salad further in the summer.

Then there was a pot that needed moving. Well, she is under five foot and six and a half lbs, so I helped her to carry the long pot.

Oh she wanted to throw that out too. Anyway, it was full of water from the winter. Also had my lovely pride of joy shells and collectable stones in it.

As I picked my end up, the slow motion of water sploshing all over her came from her end. OK, another translation by Fibbing needed here perhaps. She shouted.

“Oy Blardi heel Fi. Yoov got warter all over me sheews!”

(Oh bloody hell Fi, you’ve got water all over my shoes)

Hahahahahahah. I told her she was a weakling and why did she not pick her end up? Now this was funny, I won’t translate this, as I’m sure you are learning the lingo like me.

“It’s Okay faw yuu, oym oynly blardi 4 fuwt 11 end 3 quarters”

Hahahahaha. So the pot was on a slant.

Oh I did laugh. Not sure I was meant to.

She didn’t Blardi leff? Hahaha

Well one and a half hours later, only three pots replanted, but we had fun, well, I did. And I am sure I keep her young. She said she has never met my equal. So I haven’t got a double? X

WHAT THE RAIN SAYS BY FIONA CUMMINGS

What the rain says

By Fiona Cummings

Like the clouds pass me by

The rain begins to cry

But are they tears of sadness

Or perhaps drops of joy

I think of those who are on earth to just annoy

The rain can make my heart dance with gladness

Or remind me of greyness

The sound of gentle petal like droplets

Fall against my glass

Then the heavy thumping noise

And I wonder how long it will last

That same rain fell for those from my past

And will continue in my future

Silver pearls a chain of culture

Glitter mirrors fall from leafy trees

Bowing branches beg on their knees

Fish come to rise on waters carpets

Hooks delight as easy targets

Worms say Hi as from the sky

Come birds to feast

On the slimy beasts

A child takes a drink

From a cup of heaven sent

For him a gift of life

The perfect, present

A boat is up turned

A family lost for good

The fire no longer burns

The colourless sky see’s lights

We wonder where they go

Reds, yellows and whites

The perfect rainbow

So what does rain mean to you

Does it have a soul

If so a view?

What gives us the right to think

Only we are here for a reason

Rain is not just for some seasons

But for life

So next time you hear the rain

Don’t feel down

As there will be no pain

Hear the droplets falling

Listen closely, they are calling

COLOURS OF THE FLOWERS

Hello Bloggets.

Today after so much rain, it is blazing with sunshine. It’s hot and how it blooming should be! Almost the middle of May. Yesterday I had a great day out with my friend. We went to the garden centre. OK, I know that may sound like I am a nana, but I simply love garden centres. Whilst we were there, oh the rain. It pounded down on the plastic roof and walking through parts of the place, we got a free hair wash, that’s all we got blooming free. My friend bought ten fish. Ten for £10

Well, if you’d seen the man with attitude trying to catch them, then had too many, so rather than letting her away with one free, he then almost tipped them all out and started again to count and again. In the end, we didn’t know if she had one or twenty one.

At the till, I was asked if I wanted a club card for the garden centre. We asked what that meant.

“You get points every time you spend. You get offers and a per cent off the café. And today, you get a free plant if you spend £20

Oh, great, I said I would have a card. Well, nothing off my café, as I had already been without a card and they can’t put it on the card once left the café. As for the plant? Hmm. What plant? There were none left.

But the smells and the chat were great. I just can’t believe how easy it is by car in comparison to the bus.

I don’t think people with cars appreciate it. I mean going into town, I think is best in the bus as it’s hard and deer to park and the bus is so efficient here also for less pollution. Forty people all in one guzzling engine, rather than forty engines.

Hub is in Birmingham today with his job. Won’t be home till seven. Still great though, he’s home tonight. Wonderful.

Not long before our friends are coming over from Russia now. Thank God, with all the trouble in Russia, I was afraid it would interfere with their plans. How much trouble a country and others around it can get into through one man. Awful.

I have done the dreaded job of the dog run. Oh after the rain? Hmm. Lovely.

Em

Not.

Then vacuumed the stairs and our huge landing. Then washed all the whites i.e. skirting boards and doors on the landing. Then I sorted out some washing that needed doing, oh it was too hard. The clothes went back into the basket and I just stripped the bed. Really it’s getting so hard and it depresses me. I used to be able to remember what clothes we had what colours. Now, not. I can’t get Hubs purple shirt mixed up with his white ones now can I?

At least all my bedding is cream. Really as a blind person, I have become so boring. All white and creams are starting to appear in my life.

This is why I like garden centres. It doesn’t really matter what flowers are what. Colours all just belong together, whereas matching clothes that’s a different story.

Just finished cleaning all the kitchen units. I must say, I feel so good when I have done the house like this. One can quite easily procrastinate and this is so bad for the mind-set.

Going now to contact again my friend’s grandchild’s nursery. Just to confirm things. Oh the pressure is so high, will my dear friends Sons wife, like the house/apartment I have picked for them? If not, I don’t know what we will do, they can of course come here, but their flat is much better than our house so if the flat is not good enough, God help our house?

Oh our house is lovely, but the flat is bigger believe it or not and all on one level.

It will be so good to see our friends again though. Excited. My friend will have her birthday here too this year, so excited dot com.

Right, my garden lady is here, hehehehe. She’s a right card. Love her.

Later gaters with love.

I DIDN'T KNOW THIS

While this country moves ahead, its name is unfortunately still stuck in a Yugoslav time-warp. The ungainly abbreviation FYROM stands for the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, which has been the provisional official name for the country since 1993. After the disintegration of Yugoslavia, Greece strongly protested against the use of what it considers Greek names and symbols by the fledgling state, even imposing an economic blockade on the republic until it changed its evil ways. Greece points out that much of the ancient region of Macedonia lies within Greek borders and taking that name implicitly stakes a claim on Greek-owned territory. It also protested against the use of the Vergina Sun symbol on the original flag design, and certain passages of the new constitution, both of which were addressed by Macedonia to lift the embargo. The naming issue remains a problem, with Macedonia insisting on using the word and Greece requiring the opposite, but in practice many countries have already officially recognised the country as the Republic of Macedonia, though the UN sticks to FYROM. Although the topic is always good for heated discussion and much waving about of hands, in practice the locals on both sides of the border are pragmatic, and Greece is one of Macedonia’s most important trading partners and investors. Interestingly, the national symbol remains the Yugoslav-era one (a rising sun with a red star), as the Macedonian national symbol is a yellow lion on a red background. The Albanians of Macedonia however have a black eagle on a red background, and as there’s no compromise on a communal symbol, the red star remains.

A CLASSIC

A lovely day. We woke, phoned our friend as it’s her birthday. We gave gifts last time I saw her and after breakfast, we got ready to leave the house for the adventure in the town.

Armed with a hooded waterproofed coat, something I don’t really like to do as it interferes with hearing, but the rain was coming down, like the sky’s just opened all their clouds. Got to the town, and the people were not out in so much force, so this was good, only took out a couple of people and they were tourists, hahahah. Thats OK, right?

Not, right?

Oh.

Did our normal banking then I go to buy some perfume my friend wears and    I love it? It’s called Alien. Not really a nice name but a beautiful perfume and there was 10% off the price today.

Then into the bakery. Oh Hub does this and he is as subtle as a sledge hammer. He is trying to build up my confidence and he makes me go into shops on my own. I hate it, but I’m so much better than I used to be. With a white cane too, as of course, I have to leave my dog at home.

This bakery is a real challenge too, as there are baskets all over the place and shelves of food as well as fridges and hot glass display cabinets. But a tap there and a wack there, a couple of ankles removed and I got there. Hahaha.

Then we went by a coffee shop. Now, Hub wanted to go to our normal place where we always have a meal and it comes to about £30 for the two of us. Now money is so much less, I told him just because we wanted a coffee, we shouldn’t have a meal too but it’s not a coffee shop, it’s a café, so one feels obligated to eat. This is the thing when you can’t see, you don’t get the bargains, you also miss so many shops that would be more suitable. We passed a coffee shop I always smell and wish to go into, but we have been in twice before and both times, they served everyone but us two, so we ended up walking out. This time I had my determined head on.

Hub was reluctant, but I insisted. We went in, the mouse behind the till asked if we needed anything?

“Em, no love, we are just in here to look at your till skills, of course we want something, a coffee would be good?”

Haha! Only joking, we said yes please and told her the two coffees. We found a table, though a little difficult, then sat like normal people, people watched, but let me tell you I have the best story of our bus later, so stay with me a little longer. It was nice to just chill, fell proud that we had done it. How good I feel when we accomplish something. Coffee was good too, but we did try to get points on our Costa card when in fact we were in a café Nero’s? hahahahaha.

Oh well, jog on.

Came from there, and got to our bus stop. Oh this is great. On the bus, we sat after kind people gave up their seats so we could sit together and behind us this was the conversation. Now, picture this. A lady, if you like, got on with her what I  thought her, little girl, about four.

Lady with rough voice

“Look at that, who’s that?” She asked the girl.

Girl in a sweet baby voice.

“I, don’t know.

Lady

“You do know the lady insisted.

As the little girl reassured her she didn’t know. This was the lady’s answer. Now wait for it?

“Look, you do know, it’s your Mummy.

Pole dancing!”

Hahahahahahahahahahehehehehehehehehehhehhehehehehhohohohohohohehehehahahah.

Thank God the child didn’t ask what pole dancing was? But it didn’t quite stop there poor baby said

“Where is my Mummy?”

“She’s in Manchester!”

Little girl “it’s dark in Manchester.

I thought, yeah, where your Mum works it is?

We got off the bus and oh gosh, it rained harder. Home now, hot cup of tea and a chat with my Bloggets.

More later,  with love.

FRIDAY FUN WITH FI AND A CATCH UP

Happy Friday to my Bloggets. I hope you are all well? Well, first week of Hubs new job, He and I survived it. It’s for me fantastic, to have him home each night, to know this weekend we will be together. Wonderful. Funny, most of my friends say I’m crazy, they would love their husbands being away, I just think. Divorce? Haha. Really, it’s weird being married to someone you don’t like being with? I know it happens and it’s really sad. As far as we know it, on this earth, we only live once, so live it how you wish? If you can, I mean within reason, as I right now would love a house in about five different countries, but can’t, but you know what I mean? Live it as best as you can. I got up today made Hub his breakfast, though he hates breakfasts before work, but there is nowhere to eat at work, no shops etc., so he has to have breakfast and if I didn’t get up, he would go to work with nothing, this is not good. As for me, I made my coffee today, my first this week actually, and sat with my houmus and two slices of toast. Then went for my delicious treat. A small chocolate bar teen went to the shops for yesterday. You know when your taste buds are just ready for your favourite treat, you go to your fridge, your coffee is hot in the cup waiting for you with your cool chocolate about to be melted in your mouth as your coffee compliments the melting moment. You are a little excited.

Well, excited may be going too far, but I don’t get out much. Haha.

Anyway, then as you open the door to your fridge, to retrieve your chocolate,

It’s not there!

Realisation kicks in. Your teen has eaten it.

Oh I was so cross. Last night before bed, he ate three. Yes, three, chocolate bars and a bacon sandwich. Now he is thin, perfect body, he tells me all the time how to eat, I’m eating the wrong things and so on. I tell him, I was once like him, slim. He tells me he will never be like me. I tell him, if suddenly he started to put on weight, he would be like me as he eats ten times more than I do now and he couldn’t’ stop I can tell you that.

The sun is shining but it’s windy. Teen took Wagga out for a walk yesterday and he was mortified as lady asked how old his puppy was?

“She’s three.” He exclaimed. He said, Mum, she was awful, sniffed at something for ages, then I caught up with her to put her on her leash, and she ran away just at the last moment. Then looked back, saw how far away I was, then stopped for another few minutes sniff, then again, just as I approached her, off she ran. Then when there were other dogs, she bounced up and down around them jumping as though was on a pogo stick. Hahaha.

That’s my girl.

Poor LC has been left behind today. Hub has gone to work solo.

I can tell you, she has the face on. She hates being left. He said, if he is still working at this job when she retires, he won’t get another guide dog. This scares me, as how will we get to town? But let’s hope we have another three years out of our dream dog LC? Who knows by then, there may be a cure for RP? Then I can see, then our worries about life in general will stop. You should see the letters we have piled up in the hall? So many, We need to get the software bought again as when Hub gave back his computer  to his old job, he had to hand back the software on it that read our letters, well, scanned them to a fashion. We never got the full letter.

I’m not sure what this weekend has in store, but Hub want’s a sleep in tomorrow, as has been up every day at half six.

A Friday fun moment for you before I go.

Three men were at a bar discussing coincidences. The first man said, "My wife was reading A Tale of Two Cities and she gave birth to twins." "That’s funny," the second man remarked, "My wife was reading The Three Musketeers and she gave birth to triplets." The third man shouted, "Oh my, I have to rush home!" When asked what the problem was, he exclaimed, "When I left the house, my wife was reading Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves!"

FOOD FOR THOUGHT

What is it they say?  A new day, the darkness will pass? Or is that what I say, ha. May be one of my sayings. Well, one can only hope?  A lot has gone on here over the past couple of days, I’m hoping today will be brighter. As for Hubs work, all great.  It’s funny; I’m tired as he is. He is with all the amount he has to take in, I am because I am trying to support him, so it’s all new for me too. I am terrified to say the wrong things.

My little dog has had no work this week. I feel really bad about it. I should go to the shop, but after the past few times out with her, I am afraid to go alone. She is driving me crazy though. And poor Black beauty is getting played with when she just wants to sleep. Wagga is biting her all the time. Just to get some kind of reaction, but BB is too sweet natured to fight for her, so I have to be aware all the time and at times, put BB in a separate room. With the door closed.

I woke up today after a very odd dream. My Husband had bought me an inflatable mosk…..

I shall let you ponder on that for a while.

I must add, I never have been or never will be a Muslim. Now, this dream, I like to define mine and others dreams, trying to unpick them and translate them in a meaningful manner. I can’t get the meaning of the  inflatable Mosque, I must add, bright yellow it was too! When I lost my sight sixteen years ago, I had not ever seen a mosque, so I don’t even know what they look like, but I can tell you, I doubt they will look like the one in my dream? Hahaha. The weird thing was, it had a metal tray attached to it that pulled out and you lit. Why? Not sure. So from that, a brief blog on the word religion.

As far as I am aware, the word religion has no precise definition.  As where it came from, a lot of words come from Greek origin, but not this word. Some say it comes from Latin word Religare, this means to bind.

At the end of last year, Britain’s Supreme Court ruled that scientology was a religion. Lord Toulson, giving the judgement, wrote that

“Religion should not be confined to religions which recognise a supreme deity”

Toulson describes religion as a spiritual or non-secular belief system, held by a group of adherents which claims to explain mankind’s place in the universe a relationship, with the infinite. I kind of agree, do you?

A 2005 poll in Brittan, found that only 37% of people believe in a religion. I think with religion, comes some morals, not saying all, as I have known of many churches where the people all pray and act all holy, then come onto our streets, out of church, and act in a very mean way. But I do think that church, is a place to reflect and find some kind of meaning in our busy lives. Time to have mindful thoughts. A calm place and should be uplifting. Without this time, where do we reflect?

Our hunger for meaning, can lead in destructive directions.   Meaning today to some, can mean pursuit in financial success and material acquisition meaning in destroying the planet and exacerbating inequality. Fascism, Starlinism and other movements, of the last century resonated and satisfied human making      needs.

Religion some say has been the cause of wars; I say that the word has been misused. If not for the word religion, then land or mans greed would be the cause of all our fighting and disagreements.

Well, I didn’t know where this blog was going as always, I’m still not sure where it has gone, other than to give you some kind of insight into my day and thoughts. I do hope that you can take something from this and perhaps some food for thought, as we all need to take time out, right? With love!

DOG AT WORK

So how did Hubs first day go?

Well, it took over one hour to get there and he left late as he was told to get there for half ten yesterday being his first day, a huge joke, as I think it may have had  something to do with the fact that his office was still getting built. Haha haha. Really, when he arrived, his boss told him that the builders were in and they were making his office.

Anyway, Hub said that the staff were all so very welcoming and made him feel at ease. He had over a hundred emails to look at; thankfully, they had a computer all set up ready for him. This was great, as my Hub likes to get straight into work. And he can now he has his computer. A phone/mobile wasn’t there, but there is a land line. Though when Hub described the phone lines to me, they sound super technical. He had a lovely day, had a lot to take in of course, but came home in a really good mood. It took an hour and a half to get back home, but right now, he is seeing how the times are so he can get into a better pattern. He wants to leave earlier in the morning, so he can leave before rush hour.

So all perfect there, the office is very easy to learn. There is nowhere to go for lunch, so he doesn’t bother. This is OK though, as he doesn’t really eat through the day when he used to go to London/Peterborough either. So breakfast and evening dinner is fine.

All lovely, then there is the teen. Oh God help me!

Can’t do right for doing wrong. He is going through his very nasty stage again, and I know why and I think you may guess too?

How did I cope yesterday when Hub was at work for the first time in weeks? Very well, I had loads of paperwork to catch up with, emails, phone calls and research and I did the housework that I had neglected doing like tops of doors and behind things; you know things you don’t see unless you look.

Today? Is a different matter. I am fine, but one person in the household isn’t. This changes things so much. My poor Waggatail is missing her Long chops so much and Black beauty is getting all the fury.

How did LC do on her first day in the office yesterday? Hmm. Well, Hub and I laughed at the fact that she was telling the other dogs during breakfast yesterday morning that she was going to do an important job. She was working in an office and her Dad was just coming along for the ride.. Haha Then she told them she was going to check out the accessibility. Not for her Dad, but accessibility for where the office biscuits were and how easy the bins were to rummage through and finally, how accessible would the secretary’s lunch be? Hahahahaheheheh. OK, we are mad with a capital M!

Spoke to my mad aunt today. She’s doing OK. Tried calling her a couple of times without an answer. So I was a little concerned, as if anything happens to her, I won’t ever know as the person she lives with won’t tell me.

Why? Hmm. Blooming good question, but I’m not losing sleep over her not talking to me. As long as my aunt is OK.

So on that note, I shall go for now and come later and have a chat about something totally different, but in all, everything is great with work and I have three poems to write this week one wedding and two birthday, so I shall do that later on. Off now to put the shopping away that has just been delivered. X

For men. Luke Sam Sowden: Vaseline Spray & Go Cocoa Radiant Review

Luke Sam Sowden: Vaseline Spray & Go Cocoa Radiant Review: Hello everyone, welcome to another post, this Friday, on my channel, there'll be a review video of the Palmer's Cocoa Butter Men&#39...

FIRST DAY AT NEW JOB

Good morning Bloggets.

Well, Hub off on his first day at his new job. So the nerves have no time now to show. I will learn of his day in nine hours. I’m sure it will be fine and they will make him feel welcome. It of course will be odd for his staff too, as he hasn’t met any of them so this means they haven’t met with him too of course.

I groomed Long Chops for her first day at the office, so she looks nice and tidy for her new role. Let’s just hope she doesn’t check out the accessibility in the office.

Accessibility for her to find a packet of office biscuits or someone’s pack lunch on their desk? Hub and I were laughing about that this morning, saying we hope the food is out of LC range.

The sun is shining today, after a load of rain through the night. My boy is at college though bless him he has a stomach bug. Kindly given to him from his Mum. I was ill on Sunday afternoon and all night. I’m fine now; I just hope it’s not Hubs turn tomorrow, or even today? Imagine?

I have just bought a new bathing costume….. It looks absolutely beautiful, until it goes on me! Then it’s a whopping “Woopsy” moment.

OMG? What a mess! It’s the leg thing going on. I am fortunate to have long legs, but sadly, they are as wide as long!

When you are used to covering yourself up all the time, you suddenly feel so out there and exposed when you are in a costume.

Today, I must start my housework again. For the past five weeks since Hub has been out of work, I have let the house go. Just doing the necessary jobs. So will be doing that and perhaps some leg exercises along the way? I don’t’ care if I get some funny looks through the windows. I’m just the blind lady, hahahahaha. I am expected to do stupid things right?

Oh, on the subject of blind people, remember my neighbour who just can’t get it in her head about Hub and I having lights in our house? Or how our friend/neighbour talks to us? Wondering what about? Well, the other day, Hub and I were out with our friend/neighbour and we passed the lady in a shop. I did smile, thinking to myself, what must be going through her mind at that point? To talk in the street is difficult, but to actually go shopping with us? She will be offering our friend a medal of bravery next. It’s funny, as this lady in question, her husband and son are so lovely and friendly and not at all afraid of us. Haha. Must have to learn how to scare them, out of practice. Really though, the first person to talk to me was this particular lady, and she was so lovely. I felt really comfortable with her, but this was before she knew I was blind. Now she knows, oh, my word. One day, I’m sure we will talk and she will earn that we are just the same as sighted people, only our part of the brain that sees, doesn’t work. But what we lose there, we gain in so many other ways. As my dear friend Yam says, we see more than the sighted, just in a different way. Talking of our friend Yam, I am concerned as have not heard from her or her husband for a couple of days. Well, actually, Saturday was the last communication I had with DD. He was going to Yam’s hospital to visit her. I hope she will be home now and I pray, with some positive news?

Until later my Bloggets, stay happy and positive. I know out of all of us, there are so many days, even weeks or months, when life is so dam tough, a battle for sure and when you need a hand to hold out to you, there is no one there. Well, this is when you need some kind of faith I believe. Need not be religious, just a belief in a higher vibration. And I am here for you all, just as you are for me. Every time I see a number or country looking at this blog, I feel a connection. Thank you again, almost coming up to a year and a half, and heading towards fifty thousand views and fifty countries. Bless you all.

ALMOST THERE

A busy day. Getting everything ready for Hubs first day at his new job tomorrow. It’s a hard time, what will he be doing? He’s not sure. This is the first time he has worked for a new organisation in 21 years. He did many jobs at his last post, but that was with the same organisation, the same staff and he had all of the technology in place. I don’t think he will have anything for a while at his new job. They may surprise him though, but if he won’t have a computer/lap top, how will he work? If he doesn’t have an IPhone or at least mobile, how will he communicate? How will he know his diary and so on? As he said,  if he could see, he would be in charge of him getting to work, he’ s not, the taxi driver is and will they find it? Hub hasn’t even been to the office, his two interviews were at other parts of the country.

He has never met any of his staff. How will he remember their names? Sometimes if you can see, you remember faces. He won’t have that luxury. But as I tell him, he will get to know their voices.

I know he is really nervous, as am I, for him.

I feel like it is his first day at school…. It will be weird for me as tomorrow; will be the first day I wake up on my own. Of course I will be up with him to see him off to work, then teen will be at college. No more lazy days with my love. I will be hoping he will be OK all day. It will be a very long day for me for sure. For Hub, new smells, new voices and lots of instructions. Long Chops I hope will behave? It is working in a totally different roll. I am sure much easier than what he was doing, no more working in our capital with the Government in the Houses of parliament and no more travelling abroad. Thank God. He is a bit worried how long this will take him to get to work, not ever doing this journey, he has been told it’s 32 miles, but also been told it will take anything from 45 minutes, to one and a half hours to get each way, depending on transport.

I will be like a Mother hen. Wondering if he has had something to eat or drink, I mean, he won’t leave the building on his first day to get something to eat. Will he be able to pick up the courage to ask where the toilet is? I know this sounds like a child, but a sighted person would see the toilet sign and just go. Not like that for us. We just learn to hold it in till we get back home.

What I do know is, he will be brilliant at his job, and he for sure is committed and looking forward to starting a new path in life. It will be hard for him to keep the breaks on though, as he is used to being his own boss. He’s not really that high up now; also he is used to pushing his organisation into making very tough decisions. He will have to take a step backwards. Will this be challenging enough for him? One good thing, he is home at nights and weekends and for his mind, this is a change he needs!

COFFEE CUPS WEDDING

Hi Bloggets. Wow, a lovely day and interesting too!  It was the day of our friend’s wedding, my lovely friend Coffee cup and her dear man John. What to wear was easy, I put on my suit from my brother in laws wedding from the 9th of March.  Hub wore one of his suits and off we went. Not without drama. I had a lovely wedding card for them and put it in a safe place. Hmm. That was two weeks ago. Came to writing it and me being me, left it to the last moment, and couldn’t find it. But we wrapped their gift and off we went.

We took our faithful LC and she remembered the route that is very easy really, but has been a while since we have been so she did good. Unlike Hub who wanted to turn right when it should have been left. I drove the car and LC was a great engine. With Hub as the petrol and confidence, we were all fine.

Oh Sarah and friends had the church looking lovely, of course we would have been totally oblivious, but Sarah took time out to come and describe to me what the place looked like. How kind of her! They covered all the seats in cream covers with purple bows on and around the alter, was hearts and white and lilac roses.

My friend Flexi was on piano and a CD was turned on the Beatles. All you need is love… That is what the bridal party came into. Put a smile on our faces.

It was a lovely service with Francis talking about love and the meaning. The best hymn in the world started us off singing. A hymn my Husband sang when we were in America, with our friends Yam and DD some years ago. “How great thou art. Oh I thought of Yam right then and wanted to send strength to DD during this difficult time they are having right now.

The church was packed and it was so apparent that the couple were in love. Coffee cup was so in love and happy, I was delighted for her. A really great atmosphere.

Everyone at church were so lovely. It is the most friendly place I have been to. Kindness was surrounding us. They never leave you out, make you feel like an outsider or unwanted. It’s like coming home going there. We did our photographs, and our lovely Welsh friend guided us as helpful and natural as ever and my dears Geordie friend and her family were there too. We sat with them and had food and cupcakes it was great. I loved every moment of it and will remember each second of today. I pray that the beautiful couple will be happy forever.

Guess what they walked out to? Music I mean? The theme from Star wars. Hahaha.  X

TAKING OUT THE WORLD

Hi Bloggets. A lovely day. Started this morning when we got ready to leave the house for our town. Left teen in bed, as I went to kiss him bye bye, he told me I was too full of energy. Hahahaha. Me? Em, I don’t think so! I must add, it was, eleven almost lunch time.

The sun was shining; Wagga had the face on as she wasn’t going Old BB was happy being left in bed and LC was raring to go.

Oh the town was packed. The noise was just dreadful. I think it must have been international day or something, as there were African singers and dancers with fire, well, I think there was fire involved as  people were shouting fire, unless McDonalds had bother in their kitchen?

There were Tibetan chanters. I liked that but Hub didn’t I was surprised at that, as he loves world music. Around every corner, were new things to blast our ears with, I say blast, as when you need to hear buildings, cars and so on, road crossings and to avoid people, it’s  hard when the worlds orchestras are out in force.

I bought a door plaque. Well we ordered it some weeks ago and it was ready to collect. It’s lovely, but for the money they were asking, is a bit of a rip off.

Now all I need  is my lovely handy man to put it on my wall. We went to the bank where I had a right laugh with the staff. The guys in there are so flirtatious and I go with the flow…… Well it would be rude not to? Hahahah.

Found our chemist and the long line to the till to ask for help. OK, we did queue hop, but no one complained.  Then to the bakers, and at last, for a light lunch. I think I only took out seven people today, all ladies and all rather chunky, so we bounced off one another and no one cried hahahahehehehe. Well, they see me coming and don’t move, so they get what they deserve right? I mean, I can’t see to avoid them. And Hub laughs as people do think I can see. I do have my white cane, but people think I am partially sighted I am sure. When we went for the door plaque, the lady held it in front of me. I put my hands out but she still held it up.

Oh the best one was the bakers. I bought two meat pies and one vegetarian one. Well, I asked her to differentiate the pies from meat to my vegetarian. By doing what, do you think she suggested?

Writing on the bags what they were!’!’!’!’!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We also had green button gate. When you pay they ask you to push the green button!

But we didn’t get the blue bus like we did when we first moved and asked about our bus number, the lady told us it would be the blue bus we would need.

 Right

Anyway, got on the bus home and sat among the heavy smokers. Of course they don’t smoke on the bus, but we inhale the horrible smell of them and hear the phlegmy coughing from them. Oh it’s gross. Wouldn’t you think they would hear themselves? I mean, I know I am huuuuuu’ge, but I don’t tell myself, I’m the next super model…

OK, so off the bus and the walk home. Passing my favourite smell of lilac trees. Oh the spring early summer smells are so pretty.

Boy wonder out now with his friend. I’m in the garden. I think we have a nest high up as baby birds can be heard.

Sun deciding to move now, it’s got bored hanging around here, so getting a little  sharp and my wind chimes are pingging telling me the wind is picking  up. So I shall go in and start tea for later. Pork for the boys tonight. For me, a lovely vegetarian homemade lasagne. Until later dearest Bloggets, have a lovely weekend. X

GLUE OF HOPE

A very busy day. Just cooking and housework. Then our friend came around to help to fill in forms for Hubs work. Believe it or not, for over a month now, he first heard, he will be starting his new job, having said that you know all the bother we have had with then finding out how to travel the 32 miles he has to get there? No public transport, only a taxi costing £500 per week. Anyway, just over a week ago, it was all confirmed that is all sorted. Now yesterday, he receives a huge printed pack of forms and some Braille, but of course the forms are not in Braille, so a slight panic when the Braille says that Hub has to fill in the forms and send a digital photograph before his work date. He is due to start work in four days. Two of those days are the weekend and one is a bank holiday Monday so nothing is open, including his head office.

Then reality kicked in, we don’t have any family who can fill in things for us. So the fear and dread of the blind life in a sighted world kicked in.

To the rescue, our friend Di came to our mind and thank God and bless her cotton socks, she came over and ticked the boxes and did the print work for us.

The information he has had to provide is as though he is joining the secret service.

As for a photograph, to be continued.

Our house is stinking of homemade fish pie. Gross. But Hub loved it. As for teen? He ate it all and didn’t complain. God does that boy eat? None stop today. I cannot believe his weight. Last time he got on the scales, he was seven and a half stone. Now? 12st 5lbs.

OK, he was eleven when I last weighed him. And now seventeen years of age and 6ft 2. But still a big lad. So toned though and solid muscle. Like his Mum right??????????

An early start in the morning so must go to sleep now. We are off to the town, then the dentist, and then out with our friend and then a man coming to check out our waterworks. Haha!

My boy I am sure will be sleeping in. His first lay in all week as he was up early today for a driving lesson at half eight. He’s doing great, I’m proud of him for so many reasons. He is so tall and very good looking. He could get any girl he chose. To look at perfect. To his mum though, I am told a typical teen. Hmm. He has his moments, no, I correct myself, hours.

My dearest Yam from Mexico had her operation today to remove the ulcer that had cancer growing on it. So sad to say she was in theatre for eight hours rather than three. The cancer had gone so much deeper than first thought and now has half a stomach. Bless her, she is so optimistic and jokes that she will be a lot lighter now. God love her. I feel sick as I need her to be well. I’m sure she will be fine in the end but needs to recover first. Her poor Husband my DD, is battling through dust and workmen as his new house in Mexico is getting turned upside down and made into their home, but to do that, will take months.

Luckily Yam will stay with her lovely sister to recover.

It’s so bad living so far from those you care about. I wish I could be there to help her. Yam and I can talk as though we have known each other for years but really I have only known her and DD for four years. My Husband a lot longer as they were friends with Hub and his ex-witch. Oops, sorry ex-wife.

But she is great, and I love her. Over the four years, she has given me so much strength. It is rather weird to think of our lives, we share so much and have lived such similar lives, though generations part us. As well as miles, right? But she is very close to my heart.

Five days she will stay in hospital and we will see after then how she will be? She is so brave and that will help to fix her I’m sure. Once again she will be writing to me telling of wonderful colours in her garden and what she has been up to that day. Her stories are wonderful. My other friend who has been in hospital for three months had her operation yesterday. Oh my God, she had a hip replacement last year. After six months her walking was getting as good as new, then an infection hit her and she for three months has been in her hospital in bed without a hip. Can you imagine? Let’s see how she gets on too. My friends are falling apart. I need some glue of hope for them.

Glue of hope by Fiona Cummings

I need some glue of hope

For my friends from far away

To fix their broken parts

And make them stronger every day

They have golden hearts

And deserve to be healthy

If my love for them was counted

For sure they would be wealthy

A bravery award I would give them

And on a shelf it would be mounted

Would say the words of hope

And a silver hand crafted rope

Would be sent from angels of life

Then they would clime

Away from all strife

To a place of sunshine

So forever summertime

Where flowers were all year round

And blackbirds made such a wonderful sound

Then their troubles would never touch the ground

But float away from their minds

And sweet fruits would grow

Up the golden vines

For my friends who are unwell for now

May feathers, wipe their brow

And as they recover words will be heard

Like I feel so good and wow

As for being ill it will be to them absurd

To think they ever were

The memory of their operations

Will become a distant blur

To Yam and Sheila
