Techno Fi and the plastic promise

Hello my friends and Blogget family. It is almost four in the morning. I did have a nice sleep, but then I woke up. I got up two mornings early and hoped I would sleep most of the night, but not to be, you see, I had to write to you!

Hub home from Paris. Oh he had an emotional an yet very interesting visit. I don’t hear much about his work, he is always reluctant to talk about work. He says he  talks about work all the time so when he gets home, he wants to switch off? Well, that is fine, but it makes conversations rather challenging, as he is a work a holic? So not much left? It is lovely to have him home though and the dogs are delighted. For the first time in two days, they have all lay down on the rug in the living room. Long Chops paces back and forward, being the German shepherd that she is, looking out for predators and waiting for her owner to return to the pack, Waggatail, is just plain and simple, a man’s dog, so relaxes when he is in and as for Black Beauty? Well, she is a shivering wreck, but when Daddy is home, she too is calm, Oh you should see her? She adores him. As soon as he sits down, she is on  his knee. Oh well, she is a retired guide dog, not working now.

She is like wearing a mink coat though. Her fur feels exactly like a mink.

My Waggatail, she feels like silk. As for Long Chops? Em, how can I say this? Well, let’s just say I love her.

Everyone says though that LC, is the most beautiful dog. She feels really odd, but they say, those with sight, ha, that she is truly beautiful.

She for sure is as far as a loving dog is concerned. Though aren’t most dogs?

It is really really hard when Hub is away to look after all of them.

To keep the house clean is difficult too, you can imagine with three black dogs?

We don’t have  carpets downstairs, tiles and wood. I don’t know how we would cope with carpets?

My favourite flooring is stone floor downstairs and thick plush carpets upstairs.

My dream house is like one I stayed in some years ago, it was a farm in Yorkshire. Downstairs, it had stone flooring. It was really cosy, with the wood burner in the living room and the huge  range cooker in the kitchen. Gosh it  was a huge house? You could fit our house in the sitting room. There were lamps everywhere and I imagined the orange  glows  coming from them lighting up the room enough to see and forming shadows of arched warmth. I imagined cars passing our windows looking in and seeing the lamps and how cosy it must have looked?

Of course I saw nothing, as I do every day,  every second of my life, but, in my mind, it was a beautiful house.

It was called Hill top farm, or something like that, oh it was the most amazing house.

Teen got in from a night at the house of Bunches. He is sad, as she is  going skiing on Saturday and a week without seeing her, is painful for the poor lad.

Oh he is so unhappy you know? I really don’t know what to do for him? I hate the idea that he is sad.

The thing I was going to tell you, was she gave him a bracelet of hers, and he gave her, his watch, he has had since he was a young boy, a blooming good one too? I  tell you, not as deer as the bracelet she has placed on his wrist? Cheeky monkey did that clever thing, that you can  find out how much something cost online? It is worth a fortune? But his watch, is sentimental, to me anyway? Ha. Obviously not to him? Having said that, may be it is? Perhaps, this is their way of showing each other how much they love each other? By giving each other something that means something to them.

Too many each others in that lot, sorry, oh it is late? Or is it early?

The tour De France, is coming to Yorkshire next year. It will cost the UK, ten million pounds to host.

Oh I was outraged. All the hospitals that need money and homes which are closing lack of funding. Poor people too and new treatments that could be more closely explored?

But then I heard that with all of the tourists, we should earn one hundred million?

I would like to know, when or if we get that amount of money, who will benefit? I guess the answer is the shop owners and the hotel owners?

It would be lovely if they were to give some of their profits to charities?

Can’t see that happening though?

One day, a blooming bike race? So much money, too much.

I have my GDI coming out next week. She is bringing her trainee with her. They are going to watch me from a distance, go to the shop as I told them Waggatail was not doing well going there.

Oh I hate it when they do  that? You know, watch you, watch your every move. And I know  she will criticize me. She is showing me the way onto our field from a different entrance too. Not near the shops. So we can let Waggatail off on a free run. Teen says there is no way I would be able to do  that route as it is really challenging and you have to go over loads of rough ground? Well my GDI, said she has done the route with another blind person who lives nearby. Funny you know, I have been asking for a while if they can help me to find another route on the field? They couldn’t but obviously this blind lady has shown her how to get on the field a different way.

So kindly the lady who trained Waggatail and myself, will come to our rescue next week.

Oh, Hub wants me to hand her back? Oh I can’t, not yet? I need to keep with her to see if she will improve? Poor baby, how could I give her up? How sad will she be? I know it is really stressful, having three, but not so upsetting as it would have been to hand over my retired dog? Can you imagine if I rehomed BB? That is what they wanted me to do, and after three months, decided that it was not working with me and Waggatail? I would hand back Waggatail and be without my lovely BB, whom I have been with for ten years?

I have only been with my Hubs LC for four years, and no way I can part with her? Hub and I have had so many raw words about that one, he is adamant she is going to a retirement replacement, I am more sure, she is staying with us. Then he puts the guilt on me  by saying if I do that, it will mean he can not apply for another dog as he will not have four dogs and BB, hopefully will be still alive?

Well I appreciate we can not have four dogs. But, I can, encourage him to keep up his skills with his white cane?

Can’t I?

It will be a nightmare though, as no way he could do the town with a white cane. I really really really, get so depressed when I think about our future you know? It scares me so much. So many things terrify me.

I flipping hate this blind world I live in. It really is incredibly soul destroying.

Most people are really lucky, they have families. We don’t. there is the three of us.

I am scared witless about it being the two of us.

Hub isn’t. Not at all. God, how is he like that? Why am I such a coward?

I was talking with my BF yesterday and telling him how good Hub was when I first met him over finances. Oh my last Husband, never let me know what was going on when it came to our money, or should I say, his money?

When I only knew Hub a month, he gave me a peace of plastic. I wondered what it was, it was a cash card.

I could feel the shock in my now Hubs heart as the realisation kicked in, I did not know what a cash card was?

He told me it was for if I got into trouble, he knowing my X and I needed to get away with my boy. It was to make sure we  could be safe and I had  money?

I asked him how do I use it?

He told me, well, this was the start of techno Fi.

For sure I would press wrong button and withdraw thousands, rather than £20? How would I remember the password? The numbers? What did it do, how did the bit of plastic know how much money to  put in the bank? What if there was no money in the bank? Oh how stupid I was? I was so naive?

Hub was so patient with me and since then he has taught me so much, too much, ha. I love to shop and can do it with great confidence. I use on line banking even, though that still scares me, and I do telephone banking very easily.

I never used the card Hub gave me, not until we were living together.

Thank God, I never needed to escape from my X. Though there really were times when he terrified me. Nights when I would be on my desk top and he would come into the room where my desk was and stand behind me. He was not reading what I  was doing, as the screen was off. He would just hover around me. Inches from me. I really used to frees, thinking he was going to strangle me.

My x used to pay for everything. I never saw bills or did the weekly shopping. Until I met other people who told me this was wrong, I never thought anything of it. I used to think he was kind, looking after me, making sure I had things without worrying? Then I learned the word control.

Then the word freak, put the two words together, and ran.

Only being  flippant. Sorry, not a good side to me, I can be slightly, only ever so, slightly, sick. He was not a freak. He had a heart,

it just needed a autopsy, to find it.

Again, not being fair. He was very very good to my parents and that was all that mattered to me before, my baby came about.

I do still hope and wish my x happiness. I mean, we were together almost 25 years?

OK, later on I will tell you about what Hub got up to in Paris? It was really interesting. But for now, I must go to bed. My computer has rebooted since I have started writing this, I had to wait for it to get its life back together before I could continue writing to you all. So now it is after five in the morning.

The birds out side are quiet, still sleeping? But the trucks are going by, the house shakes when they do. This can’t be good?

Laters gators with love, hugs and warmth.

HOME COMING BY FIONA CUMMINGS

Home coming

By Fiona Cummings

The train is getting closer as you know

As time passes by though too slow

I look out of my  cloudy window

Aching to see you pulling up in the taxi

God what is wrong with me

I just can’t stand it when you are away

It’s like a stage Victorian performance

Of a dark and tragic play

Or a Mills & Boon romance

Where she hangs on every word he will say

It’s like I am in a trance

Can’t sing, talk or laugh

I make you food and run your bath

And enjoy the time we have

Though I know it will not last

And our little time together  goes so fast

An yet, when you go

It goes so slow

We say goodbye more times than we say hello

I know that is impossible

But try telling my heart so miserable

THE PILL

Oh my word? Question? “How to scare a parent?

Answer receive a text from your child’s school, telling you, that your child, is not in school and did not show up for registration! Well, I was already in a state of disappointment with the world of today, after reading a blog on a young lady, who has been followed by a  man and ran for  help to a taxi driver, and he then tried to be indecent to her.  So after leaving that note, and getting a message like that? My mind started working overtime.

You know my friends and Blogget family, my mind does not take much to build up pictures?

“Was he hurt in some way? Was he having a day off school to be with Bunches?”

I picked up the phone to phone the school, after trying to call teen. His phone went onto answer machine. The secretary from school answered my call, and I told her what had happened. She had to check out if teen was in school? It took forever, and the longer it was taking for her to come back, the longer I had time to think the worst.

Then she  came back and all was fine. Few? I don’t know what had happened there? I really don’t.

I calmed down and thanked God for my Son being OK. Then time to phone my pill of pleasantness. My soul brother and best friend. He would make me forget all what is life and remind me of the word living. My BF and I talk about everything. I love it. We laugh and cry and try to make sense of the world in which we find ourselves living in.

We don’t  always make sense of it all, and that is what is so good. We don’t have to be sensible we can be as stupid as we like as in our world, anything goes.

I love to hear him talking about how much his lovely wife means to him. Oh the love they have is wonderful? And who can blame them, they are both beautiful people.

Talking of beautiful people, one is due back home tonight. He sent  me a funny text, saying he was texting from the bottom of the Channel tunnel? Well, silly blonde me, thought,

“God? Is this one of those last goodbye texts, just before the inevitable occurs?

I, know, I know.

He was just telling me how now there is reception in the tunnel.

Actually, must ask about that one, as not sure about security for that?

But again, another few, moment.

What is it with my nerves today? Perhaps it is after yesterday?

It took me some hours before I really was able to relax.

Must feed the dogs now, but structured words tomorrow my friends. I promise. Or do I? Hmm. Well I will try, but you know your Fifi, she likes to ramble.

MY 24 HOURS MY LIFE

Good morning my dear Blogget family. It is so good to see you all there this morning on our page. I love seeing new countries, and days or sometimes weeks later, see those countries come back is great, but, the UK, US an Germany, are there every single day and it really does feel like a family. Kazakhstan, Indonesia and Malaysia  have been here today and this week, we have had, Canada, Bulgaria, Philippines and Sweden too!

Right, I went to bed last night or should I say this morning, at about one. Words with the teen again, it is getting so hard to be in the same room as him. Since he met with his girlfriend, he has become so cold, so distant too and this is really not like my boy, he is a caring soul. But lately, another young man, has taken over his body and mind.

I can’t say anything right. Every  time I open my mouth to talk, he shuts me down. If I react, he storms out up to his room. It’s awful. It is as though he hates me. This really breaks my heart as we were so close.

Oh well, my friends tell me they have all gone through it so I guess it is part of growing up?

He informed me last night, he was going to a music festival in the summer. Right. So no hair dryer, no clean showers, no mirrors? He won’t cope? Oh I dread those places? But really, how can I stop him? I guess I could, but right now? I will be glad to get rid of him for a couple of nights, though I will be in agony with worry.

Of course Bunches will be going if they  are still together?

He has his life around her, he is talking about moving in with her in two years’ time.

I was seventeen when I married, my brother was eighteen and my Mum, was nineteen. Were any of us happy? I for sure was not, my brother’s wife was known as a “Mattress back,” for the village where they lived and when she  got through that lot, she moved area to a big  town and started spreading her love about there?

They are still together though. My parents? Were they happy? No. Absolutely not. Dad worked for life, Mum worried and was ill for her, life. They argued like cat and dog.

Well Mum argued,  Dad was very submissive. He never shouted, I never heard him shout not ever. My Mum, could break glass with her voice. I guess I take after my Dad, well, I do shout, so that is not quite true, but I am always getting to bother from Hub, for not going off it with Teen. I just can’t see the point? What good will shouting do? I stay calm and try to talk to him. OK, it does not work, but neither would shouting.

I just wish I could hibernate for the next few years, but then reclaim my life?

Get over all the horrible bit of parenting.

I kind of feel sorry for Hubs x, well kind of, she has two dreadful teens. I can’t imagine her life, I think she has just totally given up on them and lets them do whatever, including letting the fourteen year old sleep with her boyfriend in the house? Oh I just think that is so wrong. As for the thirteen year old? She dies her  hair. Shame as her  hair was so thick and strong. She had lovely hair. The older daughter has the looks and the younger has the brains, but they both have their life as they should have been in years to come. Don’t they realise, they have forever to be adults? Why can’t our kids be children anymore? I would say it is because they have to look after themselves now days, as the parents are all out working? But teen never had that, though he did see a lot when he was with me and the x.

He did have a lot of growing up to do, he was one when I lost my Mum, Dad, and sight, he saw his Mother crumble, though I really worked hard, for him not to see how I was feeling? I think he saw through me. When I was going through hell with  my X Husband, teen used to be the adult, even now, he will put his arm around me if he thinks I am upset, not like a sixteen year old, like a husband would to his wife.

He himself, got me through my divorce, helping out so much to control my X’s temper and actions.

He shouldn’t have had to do any of that. Shows my week nature I guess?

I do owe him a lot, but he must realise, he has had all I could give him. I gave him my life, literally. When I had the dark six months, when my parents and sight died, I would for sure have ended it all. If not for my Son.

I would never leave him like my natural so called Mother, did me.

My wonderful adopted parents are long gone, my natural so called mother, still lives. There is no justice.

OK, as Hub would say, I’m rambling. So I will continue telling you about my night/morning, when I went to bed.

I was so cold, took a cup of tea to bed. Got under the duvet after a very quick hot shower and sipped on my drink, as I held on for life, to  my new kindle.

Daring myself, to push the button my Hub showed me.

Really, I didn’t know what to expect, I guess anything, but hearing words?

As I pushed the space bar, I anxiously waited to hear the synthetic sounds of the smooth style, of the robotic ladies voice.

Well, I waited, and waited.

Then I pushed another button, the one on the bottom, the one that says screen saver. Then nothing happened again.

Last chance, I pushed the space bar again.

I jumped out of my skin, and believe me, there is a lot of that?

Suddenly, a voice began to talk.

God, my heart? Of course, that is what should have happened, but I didn’t expect me to be  able to use it?

I held onto it, in disbelief.

“Did I really do that?”

Then I finished my drink, my hand holding cup, just popping out of the duvet, just enough to get my cup to my mouth, as my knuckles were numb with the nights chill. As I had not long let the dogs out, to pollute, it had started to snow again.

I lay back, and enjoyed my story. After just fifteen minutes, I began to realise, I was only taking in every few words, so I decided to sleep, but I had to turn the kindle off first?

Gosh, I did it? Or did I? Well, the voice stopped.

So this morning, I did an hours work, then decided to try to play it again. Partly to see, if I had not broken it, and partly, because it is a good story. I will tell you all about it, when I  have finished reading it. I find it funny, saying I am reading?

I have not read anything, since I lost my sight fifteen years ago. I don’t really regard listening to a book, reading, though that is what everyone says,  everyone calls it?

It’s not reading though, is it?

It can’t be.

Oh but I am really enjoying it. I will tell you the reasons in the week.

For now I will bid you a happy day, Hub back tonight late. Teen out with Bunches. Oh, that is something else I must remember to tell you, the latest thing between them both. Hmm! x

POET IN A PICTURE

I know my Darling Hub is safe in France, my teen is in bed, and my dogs are all exhausted, with being naughty today. So I guess it is time for me to  go to bed? I have been writing loads of poems today/night. Some of them I have not published, in fear of getting locked up? I write words not knowing how they are going to turn out, read them back and think? Oh my God. If anyone sees them, they will know I have lost the plot.

I love to write dark poetry, I really don’t know why? It just comes easy to me, happy poems I have to work on. Like Hubs colleague and our friend, she has had a baby girl, those words were quite easy for me to write, as it was real life, happy things don’t always happen to me so I can’t write about them? I think if I were a painter, well, apart from  making a heck of a mess? So, if I could see, and I was an artist, I would paint rather disturbing paintings, do you think? An yet, if I could see to paint, I would like to paint a beautiful white stallion, running free with the blue sea in the background, the wind flirting with the horses mane and long flowing tail and the picture would capsulate that image. He would be running through the sand and his foot marks would be left as a sinking print in the picture.

The sky would be a lighter blue to the ocean with yellow sun shining through. A seagull would be hovering over the horse high in the sky. Rocks would be seen far away in the distance too. Or I would paint an angel. Flying through an ink sky, reaching for the half chresant moon and a huge star would light up her face. She would have gold curls and huge blue eyes, with red, rosebud lips.

I would also paint a pink house on a cliff top. With beautiful flowers growing wild all around the house. The house, would look like it was about to fall into the sea.

I like the thought of paintings of a busy  market square, in  Victorian times. All the offerings on the stalls and top hatted men going about their business with the bent over old ladies buying brown papered bags of food, sold by the marketer’s. A rugged looking weather-beaten man,, with the lines of the rough seas upon his torn torrent face, would be selling one of the elderly ladies in head scarves, some fish. One rather large lady, with pink Rosie cheeks, beams, as she tells the people around her, holding the fish towards them, how she was going home to feed her cat? Ha. I think every painting has a story.

Tells a tail of trials and tribulations.

Stories of happy news and gossip.

I like gold guild frames, with dark brown background and rich paintings forming figures from our past and future.

So, what do you make of all of that?

Dark poems, but not so dark pictures? I say not so, as the market scene, had stories about how the fish seller, had a hard life, how the old ladies were bent up and much more there. How the horse was running free, but from what? Or  whom?

The angel, was someone’s  child. With the look of shock   wide opened eyed girl, flying grabbing for the moon, something to hold onto, anything.

The pink house on the cliff top, well, was that about to fall into the depths of the ocean?

Hmm. I can’t see, but I have a good memory, from my sighted days and a good imagination, ha?

If you can see, look at a picture or painting in your house, think about it, and ask, if you will be able to remember that in detail, if you lose your sight, say, in a years time?

I can still remember, but I forget so much.

Goodnight my Blogget family, God bless, whoever your God is, and where ever you are in the world. Until tomorrow.

BLOOD

By Fiona Cummings

I love you more than you will ever  know

I wait for that day when you will pack up and go

The pain inside is killing me

I know you just want to be set free

The thing is I just don’t want to let go of you

We share the same eyes of blue

You are the blood that runs through my veins

When you hurt I feel your pains

I know I am bound  by chains

I just don’t want to lose you

Stop hurting me please

You have me down on my knees

 I can’t take any more

I have been here before

I don’t want to go there again

We should be us until the end

AS PURE AS A DOVE

BY FIONA CUMMINGS

Oh the deep love we have for each other

Is like nothing I have felt before

As gentle as an angels feather

As safe as a locked door

You hold me in your loving arms so close

You remove the thorns from the winter rose

Your kiss is of pure perfection

We have an amazing connection

We laugh from the heart

And have loved from the start

Never ever do I want us to part

I love it when we walk through the park

The night sky is so dark

But the stars lead us on our way

We go to bed in love

And wake on a brand new day

Passionate about each other as we were the night before

For this I thank God above

Like the waves on a sandyshore

And as pure as a dove

I AM DEAD BY FIONA CUMMINGS

Your touch like velvet

Your true word you sold it

Your kiss  of silk

I need you like a babe needs milk

Your heart of gold

Your loving hold

Your smile so proud and bold

You lifted me up

You filled my cup

You forced me to have life

To start living

You kept on given

You took so little from me

You opened my eyes and made me see

Gave all that is precious to me

I handed over my life to you

I had never felt so true

So very happy inside

Before you, so many nights I did cry

But never did I think I would die

Until now

I guess some would say I am free

For sure now I can see

I am flying high with angels wings

Trust again has replaced your wedding ring

You brought me back to life

Then killed me with your knife

Now you are alone to roam

And wonder where you will go

Who will have you in their bed

Not me as I am dead

Our Darling little girl

Welcome to our world

What little you know

Before I know it you will grow

Right now you are a bud

Only share what’s good

You will grow into a beautiful flower

And bloom the way you should

I hope to others you will inspire

And live a peaceful life

Follow a perfect pathway

And become a happy wife

Then have children of your own

And may you  never be alone

Your status will be your crown

And your castle your home

You are our little Princess

And will become a darling queen

You will hand in your expenses

And see fortunes before never seen

Your heart shall be blessed

And your  pretty hands kissed

Your name will be on the very top

Of everyone’s important list

If danger comes to meet with you

You will see it and stop

For only safety we ask for you

Only oceans of turquoise blue

The greenest grass

The smoothest paths

Tears of joy

And summer forever laughs

Enjoy this time, it will go so very quickly. Hold your baby girl and pour love into her. What a lucky little girl she will be? X

FROM TOILET BRUSH TO PARIS

Good morning my Blogget family, how do I find your happiness and health today? All OK here, the sun is out, though I reccon it is just teasing us, as though to say, “Look at me, seen me, felt me, OK, now you see me, now you don’t!”

It is so cold still. Five months now of this awful weather.

Hub off to the Capital today all  day, then off to Paris tonight for an all day meeting tomorrow. Back very late tomorrow night.

I have all three dogs here with me. Already, they have been shouted at. I had to, Long Chops and Waggatail, were killing each other, over a toy, I removed it from them, they got their bed and tried to rag that, then I removed that, then they took revenge  out on Hubs slipper, I removed that, now they are killing each other. Remove, them? Hmm!

Today I am so excited for my latest purchases from Amazon. Oh yes Bloggets, what an excited Fi you have today.

I am waiting for a plastic bin, a toilet roll holder and a bright orange toilet brush and holder.

Hub asked why orange? Because, a flower in my vase in the downstairs loo, is orange. Does there have to be another reason?

Come on Bloggets, do I feel the supportive energy here?

No?

Oh!

I am out later with my mobility trainer. Oh can’t say I am looking forward to it today. She is lovely and great at her job, and I have to try to learn the next village, but I know  that will be my last time or chance to do it with her only two goes then expected to know it? Pressure? Also not feeling too well today, not sure what is wrong with me and I have to go out later with Waggatail to the shop for the normal rubbish, like milk and bread.

But first hopefully, my items will arrive.

Teen today is staying behind school not literally, behind the school, but in extra lessons. He is trying now his best for his exams, but may be little too late? Oh I really hope not.

I received an email yesterday from his school, great, progress as normally we receive letters in print.

But, the email was in images. Rather than words. So we could not read it anyway with our software.

I know it was something about Teens exams, a general letter sent out to everyone.

OK, sorry, must go, my dogs are really annoying me now. I have a feeling Waggatail, is up to no good, as Long Chops is telling me, in fear she will get into trouble? Oh I am dreading what I will find?

KINDLE AND ME

Good evening my Blogget family. Oh Tonight I can tell you all, that Fifi, has moved more into the digital world of technology. I have a kindle. Will I be able to use it? Hmm. I really hope so?

Oh I couldn’t believe how easy it was to order books from Amazon to the kindle? Less than one minute. Teen had to register me and the rest was over to me. The  speech is clear and ironing will never be the same?

As I hold it, I feel terror. What if I push a button that totally ends life in my electronic device? What if I can fast forward a page and can’t get back to it? Hub says if you can see, there is loads you can do on the kindle, but if you are  using speech, it’s limited.

Oh I am really excited about it, already I have bought two books. There are over one million books which are accessible, and we never had access to them before the kindle, as they only came in  print.

For people like me, who has not been taught  Braille, the kindle is great, until the kindle, those who could read Braille, had to read a selection of books, which a  group of members picked for them. Now we can read almost, what everyone else can read. If you take the top one thousand books  now in print, about 80% are available to us as E books. In Braille less than five per cent are available.

The books I have ordered, when I read them, I will let you know all about them, if I don’t blow the machine up?

x

I DON'T LIKE MONDAYS

Hi all, I hope you are all OK? Another dreadfully dull, dreary, damp day here. Nothing wonderful happened here. Hub off to  the capital and Paris tomorrow. He is going with his P.A, so no need for me to worry about his safety and only for 48 hours, so he will be back before I have chance, to    wind the wire, on the Vacuum up?

Tomorrow, I will go out with Nicola, my mobility worker, who will do the route again to the next village with me. Can’t say I am  looking forward to it, but that  is just my frame of mind right now. Some days I get so down about not being able to see. Really it gets boring. To train to go out? To have to pay for everything so much more than I would if I could see? Our taxi bills are so high, but nothing like where we used to live, as the bus service there was just awful and Guide dog people, were rubbish at training us, well, just to get them to come out was a nightmare? At least they try here, though it is few and far between.

My poor Waggatail, has not been on a free run, for six weeks. I have been told not to take her on our field, because it won’t be good as she will not want to go to the shop, it is hard enough to get her past the park as it is?

I have been on a list for a while, but the lady who is going to volunteer, to walk with me, is waiting to be police checked?

As I am “Vulnerable!”

So the people have to be all checked out. At least teen is taking my Black Beauty out around the lake and Long Chops, works a lot, last week she was out working three days in the capital and a couple of days here.

It’s just poor little Waggatail.

Teen did two hours’ work after school today, I’m  happy with that. How he will cope with Saturday, when his girlfriend goes skiing? One week without her? Oh God help me?

My friend from where I used to live, called me today to tell me of the engagement of her daughter? I asked her was she happy and what  did she say to her daughter when she announced her happy news? Her answer was so  funny?

“oh I just said, why did you have to say yes to someone  so thick?”

Oh God, that  is my friend, she speaks her mind? Ha.

Poor girl? Really I did feel for her as you want your Mum to be  happy for you?

Loads of you have visited our  blog page this weekend, so thank you all for your time and company.

Laters my friends with hugs and love.

IN MY MIND BY FIONA CUMMINGS

In the mind

By Fiona Cummings

 Empty parcels of forgotten birthdays

Longing memories are just a haze

Distant voices echo

Live for today not sure about tomorrow

A dark cloud hangs over my head

An empty space lays in my bed

Air stands still

Sunshine leaves a chill

Absence spills it’s blood

All burnt like a stick of wood

Removing all which was good

Stolen from the starving a dish of food

No growth in the garden

Not an apology or a pardon

Laughing behind my back

Sealed in no view not even a crack

Scraping sounds across the floorboards

No fortune left nothing I can afford

Shivers of shadows

Horns replace haloes

Broken glass from the past

Still splinter from the blast

Laying miles of ghostly train tracks

Images they have seen

From beggars to the queen

Who travels in those carriages now

If they can see us I don’t know how

Acid rain falls on my brow

Scarring painfully through my skin

Tearing savagely  deep within

How I can never forgive or forget

How much I try not to regret

If only my mind could forget

Like a cancer just one more cigarette

THE CHOCOLATE SHIFT BY FIONA CUMMINGS

THE CHOCOLATE SHIFTS

BY FIONA CUMMINGS

Seven o clock in the morning

 And Noddy rings his bell

Alvin is seen yawning

 The nightshift  bids farewell

As the factory door opens

 releasing the wonderful smell

The ragdoll cat can be seen running

Trying to get in

But he is told to scatter

And he jumps on the seconds, bin

Ellie and Tixi are having a natter

Ellie asks Ragdoll what’s the matter

As the cat licks his lips pleading

He is hungry and needs feeding

He paws at the bin

So Ellie opens the lid for him

“Quick you will get me in bother

Then the Nessie bus pulls over

And the nightshift start to gather

The day workers jump from the bus

Made from chocolate and seats of fudge

Huge waggon wheels

a horn which the driver gives a nudge

Off it goes on its milky way

Along the grass verge for another day

In the carpark there are marshmallow mini’s

And candy floss smoke from rolo chimneys

Carter signs his name for Noddy

As he goes to wrap the caramel teddy

All clocked in now

Well all but naughty Norman

The very mischievous Forman

Who has not come by the time of the bell

As he missed the Nessie bus

Oh well

Looks like the  boss is Marj

The elves love her being in charge

As she lets them have more time for breaks

Eating chunky chocolate flakes

Sometimes she bakes

Chocolate tarts

And pinches Elli’s jelly hearts

She makes the elves a cocoa bun

And laughter is heard as they have fun

Then Norman signs  in for Noddy

And serious work has begun

Noddy tells Norman he is not happy with him being late again

And takes out his strawberry liquorice pen

Writes down a note telling Norm will be in trouble if it  happens again

Norm says to Noddy

Who do you think you are

I am the Forman and your boss

So get in your banana car

Then Norman takes a chocolate star

And replaces it with Noddy’s bell

Then picks him up by his pointy feet

And dips him in the sherbet wishing well

Telling him his sour face will now be sweet

Poor Noddy is then thrown out on a door mat

And sugar is licked off him by the ragdoll cat

But one  elf has seen this nasty act

And that is the elf Nancy

Who for Noddy she has a fancy

Without thinking she picks up a broom

And chases Norm around the room

He runs and hides behind the bubble gum balloon

As she tries to get him

And picks up a rolling pin

Carter the new starter saves him

Getting chocolate brownie points from the Forman

All in a day at the factory

Where noddy in the end got victory

As he took the popsicle stick

Noddy tells the story

Of how well the stick did fit

So all in the end glory

From a factory that’s a chocolate hit

SUNDAY SMILES

Happy Sunday to you all. I really wanted to tell you about my day so far. I have really enjoyed it. We got up this morning and got ready for Church. Leaving teen in bed, we headed off in the direction of our church.

Waggatail and Long Chops were in their best behaviour and we all found the  door. This is always helpful.

Our lovely friends were there, Welsh, with their Rugby tops on, ha. They for want of a better expression, heading towards Easter, Crucified England yesterday in the Rugby.

Hub listened to the rugby on the radio, and I was trying to write and I could just hear him shouting,

“Come on, go on, oh no!”

Well, we spoke to some lovely people and the little girl who eats fish fingers every Sunday morning came to see  our hounds. Then the service began. What a great preacher we had today. What a character? A real broad Yorkshire man, from what I could gather, is or was a farmer. He had such enthusiasm in his voice and made sense. He was alive and it was great to hear.

Our Welsh friend played the piano as always bless her, then at the end of the service, the preacher came to talk to us. I told him, he should read for the RNIB, their talking books, would love his voice.

Kindly, our funny Welsh friend has invited us around for a meal at their house, so I am looking forward to that as  is Hub. Their a  really nice lot of friends.

It’s the quiz next week that will be fun and Hub and I are going.

Hub  has said he is available to  play piano for the church on Easter Sunday, if they need someone, as our friends are away so leaving just one lady who can play.

Now we are back home, teen was actually up, as miserable as ever, doing studies? Hmm? God, he is so flat these days?

His books are all over the kitchen table, he went mad when I wanted to sit there and have some brunch? I told him there was a desk in his room and in the office. He muttered some words and I ate food and left the grumpy pants to get on with his life.

A nice morning at  church though. We enjoyed it and came out with a good feeling. Our Welsh friends there are people we really feel  close to and sure are going to be friends for a very long time.

Hub is now vacuuming the stairs. Oh Gosh, teen is moaning? Well, we can not just sit in silence? Can we?

silence, and I, don’t get on all of the time, just through the night I like

The sun is shining here, but Jack Frost is still out there.

Does he not know, he is not welcome?

Right, must go and help Hub to work?  Lifting legs now for his vacuumed to go under. Ha, whilst I sit here in life of luxury?

Later Gators. Xxxxx Smile for me, and be happy for you!

EASTER AND THE ELVES

EASTER AND THE ELVES

BY

Fiona Cummings

Easter time is upon us

The elves are making such a fuss

Panicking getting everything ready in time

Making chocolate so delicious  so fine

Noddy has rang his bell so much

Trying to keep the elves awake

All day and night they are making fudge

And wonderful chocolate cake

Naughty Norman the mischievous Forman

Has had words with the cook Elvin

He got caught tasting a chocolate bubble

So now  he is in deep dark trouble

Silicon moulds are all ready

For delicate hands so steady

That job is for the purple hatted Ellie

Who makes the nicest strawberry jelly

Mee ows can be heard out the back

From the beautiful ragdoll cat

Ellie hears this and hides a truffle

Under her purple hat

If she gets caught she too will be in trouble

But she absolutely loves that cat

Who else works at the factory

Oh yes there is Melanie

Who is known for her  Irish melodies

She is the sweetest elf who works there

With her velvet green hat and her carrot hair

She works alongside her Daddy

Lovingly known as Paddy

It’s his job to wash up the pots

And then there is Tixi

A silver haired pixie

Who has been there the longest

And says she is the strongest

All the others laugh

As she is so small she uses a coffee cup for a  bath

But she carries heavy trays

And pushes  machinery out of the way

When not  in use

If a jar lid is too tight

She is always the first to offer to make it loose

Then there is Carter

He is the new starter

His nose does twitch

And his taste buds they itch

So much they desire

The chocolate dust

The  Easter bunny for him is a must

Then there is Pam who’s  making the white chocolate lambs

Oh the smell from our nearby chocolate factory

Can be smelt from the extractor fans

Oh it’s on its way

I can’t wait for Easter  Monday

I shall look at my chocolate goodies

The chicks and the milky bunny’s

And thank the Elves

For making delights so yummy
