FLEXIE FI AND FRIENDS

Just got in from our friends house warming. Coffee cup and her delightful Husband picked us up and with another couple in the back seats, we in the middle off we went to visit Flexie and Rich. Only in style, Flexie and I lead the way as we arrived Hub and John behind and the other couple behind them. So as we all trooped down the drive weaving in and out of the narrow path in between two cars on the drive another couple followed us.

Well, as we approached the door.

Eight of us.

We were all at the wrong house? Hahahahhaha.

I have never seen Hub and Jon move so quickly. Well off down the street they went leaving Coffee cup and me to laugh our way out of the situation. Can you imagine, the couple that the house belonged to sitting watching TV and looking out of the window to see eight people coming for a party?

Anyway we arrived in the large an yet cosy cottage of our friends. It was packed. Sounded like a posh country pub with lots of chattering all accents and something I would love but wouldn’t look good in our modern house, is a stone floor. I love the texture of it under my feet. There is something historical telling tails passed on from family to family over the years about wood and stone I think.

Well, after Coffee cup and I had a catch up Rich took me off for the F word.

Yep, food. Flexie and her daughter had been so busy making the most delicious food. And when the puddings came out? Oh my word. I tell you, it was professional.

The cottage had low ceiling beans and a log fire but it went on and on. It was huge.

An neighbour told our friend that the fire breast was kept up by an old farming piece of equipment. How quaint!

Rich wanted to show me the gardens but it was raining, so we decided to wait for better weather. We took some bubbly and a lovely book called something like the riverside Cottage. I thought it was appropriate because they live in a cottage called the Fisherman’s and they all like to cook as it was a cook book. Nothing that I could even think about making, but they are experts.

It was a kind thing of them inviting us and I hope to see more of the girls Flexie and Coffee cup. Flexie and I have loads to catch up on.

Teen has been to our old home town Newcastle. He is back tomorrow.

Well that was last night. Today is sunny we have just got in from our local shop. Took Wagga to work her best and she didn’t let me down. She’s really coming on well now, but to my shock, she is now just this month four. I can’t believe where the time has gone.

We walked the horrible short way there and the lovely peaceful way back. Now home and housework to do. Would love a day off from it all, but sadly no can do. Hub in the garage exercising. Then his name is on our vacuum and staircase. Really our landing is huge it’s almost as big as our bedroom. So lots of work there and with the stairs too, that will keep him busy for a short while.

I’m as always, starving. Wishing I was back at Flexies. Hehehe. Oh and as for the chips and cheese savoury I had at my friends Trix the other day, yum.

I’m so hungry these days, I can’t eat enough. My soup bowl should come with a lifeguard

OK laters gators. X

IN THE SCARE MACHINE

Hi Bloggets. Just a quick blog this changeable Saturday as far as weather goes. It’s a kind of watery sunshiny day with on and off rain wind then calm. Cool then the odd burst of heat. Last night was hot for me for sure.

Teen asked Hub if he would go out in the car with him. He did and Hub put £20 worth of petrol in for him. He hasn’t been driving half a week so far and as far as petrol is concerned, there has been £40 gone in it.

When he gets his black box fitted, he won’t be able to do that kind of miles. He’s only been in the car three times.

When Hub got back, he asked if I would have a spin. I obliged. With pride. Oh my word. We hadn’t left the street before I was ill. Pure fear. Really, no fairground in the world would host anything quite so scary.

I would say for sure he is a very dangerous driver. He doesn’t slow down when roundabouts are approaching, when there is a turn he doesn’t slow either he takes the turn at the same speed as he is driving. He already is calling other drivers. Like he is king of the road. I was hanging on for my life. My knuckles were white. My pulse was racing. I was so pleased to be home. There is no way he should have passed his test, but what I hear about the other lads, they sound a little dangerous too. Hub wonders if it could be a sight thing. As my friends say his driving is good. But all I know is he is too fast and not at all smooth. No wonder he has used so much petrol. So far this car has cost us a fortune. With the fuel insurance and Sat Nav.

I just pray he will learn soon to slow down. He takes risks too. I can’t see him having this car long before he wants a newer one. He would be crazy if he did get a better car until he learns to be a much better driver. I am really surprised as things like driving motor boats he was always so brilliant. His car was lovely and comfortable though. But sadly I didn’t enjoy it at all.

Well before he left today he asked if he could lend my lap top to print off train tickets. I said yes. So rather than putting it back he left it on the TV stand right on the corner. You can guess the rest.

He has unplugged the TV from the box that makes our TV talk, so I am a little worried we have no TV for the weekend.

Anyway he has reached his destination, by train thank God and we know who he is with.

As he left the house he looked so handsome, I just wish he realised how much better he could do for himself than what he has right now.

When he will be home? Not sure. I guess Monday. All depends on her. Right now a hotel room has their name on it. I’m so glad I wasn’t that kind of girl when I was that age. Well, I was married at her age, and I still was proud to say I wasn’t a tart that would be going all over the place in hotel rooms for the night. gosh when I think of that, I was so young to be married. My ex was nine well, still is nine years my senior. My Husband now makes me laugh telling me how young he is to me. There is eight months difference.

He has been in the garage//gym for over an hour so far. I was in fifteen minutes. I put in my head phones and was singing away like you do. Sadly, Hub told me I was embarrassing. Really? Is my singing that bad? So I came in and now chatting to you. Hub has lost another 2lbs this week.

We are out tonight at our friends. Coffee cup is kindly picking us up. I think there are about twelve of us all together meeting up.

Thinking what to make for dinner before we go. With teen not here, it will be a simple meal.

I have had some great night’s sleep of late. Not like me as you know. Stress free nights. Again not like me.

My brother, Sister in law, two Nieces their partners and all of my great Nieces and Nephews are all flying to Florida tomorrow. I hope they have a lovely time. Also hope for their sake they will replace juice for water for the little ones. Otherwise they are going to have a rather lively flight. If only people knew what was in those kids juices? Oh my word. They used to send my Teen and one of our girls crazy. High as a kite.

I hope they have a great time though; my big bro is like a child so for his sake I hope they all love it as that will make him so happy.

Must go and groom our dogs now out in the rain. But has to be done every day. I have waited for the rain to stop, and every time it does, I’m busy with something else.

Have a great weekend Bloggets. Lots of love and when I get chance I will see what else I can find with regards our future for those with RP. X

TREATMENTS AND RESEARCH FOR RP 2015 PART 1

It used to be  an all day part of my life to study on the latest goings on with research for RP.

Now, about twice a year.  Here are just a few articals I have found today.  Remember not too long ago, there was nothing  to get that excited  about online. Now?

Cells taken from the donated eyes of dead people may be able to give sight to the blind, researchers suggest. Tests in rats, reported in Stem Cells Translational Medicine, showed the human cells could restore some vision to blind mice.

A radical form of gene therapy that remodels eye cells into light receptors holds out the promise of restoring sight to people who are completely blind. The new approach is able to create replacement photoreceptors from cells that do not normally react to light.

A second electronic retinal implant trial will be starting soon, at the Oxford Eye Hospital, run by Prof Robert MacLaren. Prof MacLaren and his team are seeking RP patients to participate in this study.

The first clinical trial of a gene therapy for an inherited cause of progressive blindness called choroideremia has shown very promising initial results, surpassing the expectations of the researchers involved. Professor Robert MacLaren of the Nuffield Laboratory of Ophthalmology (part of the Nuffield Department of Clinical Neurosciences) led the development of the retinal gene therapy and this first clinical trial.

What is choroideremia?

Choroideremia is a rare inherited cause of blindness that affects around 1 in 50,000 people. There is currently no cure. It is caused by defects in the CHM gene on the X chromosome. Without the protein produced by the CHM gene, pigment cells in the retina of the eye slowly stop working, then die off. As the disease progresses, the surviving retina gradually shrinks in size, reducing vision.

The aim of the treatment in this study was to get the gene therapy into the cells in the retina of the eye without causing damage. After six months, however, the patients actually showed improvements in their vision in dim light and two of the six were able to read more lines on the eye chart.

The gene therapy approach

The gene therapy approach developed by Professor MacLaren’s team uses a small, safe virus to carry the missing CHM gene into the light-sensing cells (photoreceptors)  in the retina. In an operation similar to cataract surgery, the patient’s retina is first detached and then the virus is injected underneath using a very fine needle.

The aim is for the CHM gene, once delivered into the cells of the retina, to start producing protein and stop the cells dying off. The results suggest that the approach has promise for treating people early on before too many cells in the retina have been lost. The approach also has relevance for other, far more common causes of blindness where these photoreceptors are affected, such as retinitis pigmentosa and age-related macular degeneration.

Results

Results at six months are now reported for the first six patients in The Lancet medical journal. Based on the success of the treatment in the first six patients, three more have recently been tested at a higher dose.

Professor MacLaren says: ‘It is still too early to know if the gene therapy treatment will last indefinitely, but we can say that the vision improvements have been maintained for as long as we have been following up the patients, which is two years in one case. The results showing improvement in vision in the first six patients confirm that the virus can deliver its DNA payload without causing significant damage to the retina. This has huge implications for anyone with a genetic retinal disease such as age-related macular degeneration or retinitis pigmentosa, because it has for the first time shown that gene therapy can be applied safely before the onset of vision loss.’

“So this one is not good for me as I’m too far down that track, but there is hope above. Never give up on hope.

COLOURS FOR MUM

BY FIONA CUMMINGS

Every day of my life, I’ve spent with you

Each day I say words so true

How much you mean to me, with you I’m complete

But I had to walk away

Lifted from my feet

In such shock

You were my rock

With painful things you had to say

I felt so let down

My heart was crushed as I fell to the ground

Looking all around

Life is a miss without you by my side

How could you do this

The tears I have cried

Do you know it’s you I miss?

Each day I awake

With this ache

Has it all been a mistake?

If only I understood

Why you did what you did

You are the one person in the world I trust

An yet your decision was a must

No matter how old I am

I will always be a little girl

You my Mam

But now we have this separation

 I’m in absolute desperation

I don’t want years to go by

Without you close to me

Or that would be a waste of time

Can’t you see?

I want your hand in mine

For you I have always cared

Everything I have owned, I have shared

But you betrayed me

The one person I never wanted to lose, has set me free

Am I no longer in your heart?

Does it hurt you now we are apart?

If you leave this land

Without wrapping your arms around me one more time

If you can’t or won’t understand

The pain I’m in because no longer I feel you’re mine

And you fly with the angels

I will feel forever guilt

Is it milk spilt

Too late to make up

Is this a half empty cup?

Can we make it half full again?

I used to pick you up for a ride

We would be like glue

Why? Because I love you

Then it all had to change

Redness with rage

Black with grief

I’m spending each hour

In disbelief

Orange was the colour of warmth between us

Now it’s blue with so much fuss

Sunshine yellow

So calm and mellow

Is dirty brown

My world is upside down

Can we step back in time please

Lift me from my knees?

Let this nightmare end

Give me back my Mum, my friend

To a dear friend. You know who you are?

FIRST DRIVE

Good morning afternoon evening wherever you are whatever time it is, its morning in the UK.

How the heckers are you Bloggets? Me? Well, let me tell you. Last night was teen’s first solo drive. Hub paid the mad amount of money to insure him and off he went. Remember I told you he had a light on? I said it could be petrol? Well, like a good lad, he filled up and off to his friends. He went to play tennis. Then where? Not sure. All I know is I received a stress text, saying that his electrics had gone in his car. Oh great. So the windows were not working and the radio. Panicky. “Are the lights working?” They were. Well half a dozen texts later, with promises of a full car today to college. I told him he couldn’t take his car to college broken.

Have ten at night, he returned. Seven emergency services had passed our house later on, I hasten to add. Not that I was counting. Grumpy teen walks in.

Well when I saw the car, all of the windows weren’t working OK. We can deal with that, right?

Em, nope. All of the windows were down.

Why? Not sure. It wasn’t that blooming hot.

Thankfully, Hub to the rescue again and he received details from a guy he knows of a good garage. It is local too so great, and it opened at half seven this morning. Even better.

We had open window gate all night. Thankfully we live in a good area, so not too worried about it getting broken into though concerned about if it rained or a cat decided to have a spray and I’m not talking perfume.

Though I felt reasonably confident that the car would be OK, I still left the light on in the porch all night.

Well, wake up time this morning and teen left with his new Sat Nav Hub bought him and off he went with hope that the mechanic would fix his troubles before college.

He came home so happy. Not only did the man fix it, but didn’t charge him. Now then the description of the mechanics was hilarious.

Teen did a rendition of the way in which they spoke, and apparently they had crosses tattooed on their foreheads. Hehehe. Well, teen was so delighted he shook the lads hand. He said the man looked shocked. I guess so. Teen is very advanced and mature when it comes to polite curtesy. Oh, unless there is a three lettered word involved.

(MUM)

He has booked it in for a full service as he had to do a deal with hub to do that as Hub and I would feel better if we knew all was well under the bonnet of Billy blue bottle.

So off he went after breakfast and a shower to college to collect his friends. Now he reversed missing the cars across the road the skip and a rare sight, the builder’s vehicles. They are here and I don’t think they are just dumping someone else’s rubbish in my neighbours skip, but I think they are working. First time in a week. So he avoided all the trucks and so on and the bins without an incident thankfully.

Now he is parked up at college well, near it, as college charge over £200 per year to park and teen has weeks to go before leaving so wouldn’t be worth it. So he parked in the local to college shopping carpark. Only thing is, if he doesn’t move his car after two hours, he will be fined £60 so of course I had to text to remind him to move it, but he already had so I received a text back with those three letters in. “MUM.

Why do I stress so much about those I love? How amazing it would be not to care. How free would I feel from the tightness in my body?

My bird is singing a beautiful song today. He is going for it. He’s Irish you know? Haha. Seriously, that is why we got him, as Irish canaries are the best singers if you get a boy and you only know it’s a boy because girls don’t sing but boys only sing when they are one. So not even the breeders know the sex of the bird until the song starts. I can tell you when I learned of this, my mind was working overtime how they breed? With what bodily part? Unless they breed like theEskimos, rub noses? Or should that be beaks silly me? Or like a story my Mum used to tell me. She had a cousin who got pregnant out of wedlock. Many years ago and of course no one had sex in those days unless they were married, right? Yeah, right. Well, her cousin was with child and swore that it was because she sat on the grass where obviously someone before her had been enjoying themselves, and I’m not talking about a picnic.

It’s a delightful day and I am again waiting for a delivery, this time, bronze cleaner. Oh what an exciting life you have found in your Fifi Blogget. The only thing is, I also ordered some boot/shoe spray for teens work boots. They have the fragrance of reduced to clear turnip that have been forgotten about. Not his fault, its boots when they get wet and work  boots are not good. So I ordered some bronze cleaner and foot spray. Well, I forgot about the bronze cleaner, and yesterday the foot spray came.

Or did it?

Today I received an email saying my order was on its way. Oh when I went into it, heck, yes, I ordered that too. So was that what came yesterday? The bronze cleaner? Oh no, please? Don’t say I have sprayed his boots with that? I told you about the time when my ex came in from work and I asked him to look at my kitchen worktops and showed him my multi surface polish, as I was disappointed with it as it had no fragrance. He laughed and told me I had used his tire blackener. Oh Gosh.

Well, I looked more closely into the order, and found out that what came yesterday was indeed shoe spray. Few shoe poo

Right, the weekend is upon us. What are your plans? Mine? Apart from going to friend’s housewarming, nothing planned. Teen away with … . . . . .   ….

So let’s see. I expect he won’t be back until Monday. Then it’s all go. He has to hope that he can go to the bike shop, they will have in what he needs to repair his bike, then he has to fix it, and you know my Son with tools? Last time for his bike, he used a fork and spoon. Not mine thankfully, but our poor neighbours, not sure if the lads Mum knows? Well, to be honest, she wouldn’t want them back after the state they are in.

Then he on Tuesday has his big bike ride for charity.

I woke up today with something in my eye. Not sure what, but it’s getting on my nerves, and not eye nerves either.

A couple of jokes before I leave you for now, in words only as in spirit I’m forever here.

Tolkien enjoyed writing fairy tales so much it became a Hobbit.

I decided to make my password "incorrect" because if I type it in wrong, my computer will remind me, "Your password is incorrect."

Q: Where can you find the biggest amount of the largest sized women's lingerie in the world? A: In Africa: there are thousands of Z bras.

OK, the joke pain is over and I’m off to look for my duster. Haha. Have a great day. Xxxx Laters

A TRUE INSPIRATION BY FIONA CUMMINGS

A TRUE INSPIRATION

BY FIONA CUMMINGS

 A beautiful day

As a choir of angels sang my way

As I felt such peace

And began to pray

Fell to my knees

Asking please?

Show me the route to the path of what’s right

Turn my darkness into a starry night

Guide me to the rainbow

Whisper words where to go

Over the bridge across rippling rivers

Place a shawl to prevent autumn shivers

Find me a seat under a tree to shelter

From summer sun, make me healthier

Where is the fun, and happy faces

Hold out the map, to wonderful places

Teach me to laugh, and fill empty spaces

Forget the gap, and horror that chases

Give me peaceful thoughts

I will remember all you have taught

Forgive all with whom I’ve fought

I heard you singing to me

The clouds lifted and now I see

A beautiful halo in front of me

Wings spread out

I wanted to shout

Why are you showing yourselves now?

But then in an instant

I knew why and how

Such respect to you all I bow

It’s my time to allow

To let you all in

The fear deep within

I can let it all go

It’s such a relief

I have a belief

Let me sing with you all

Messengers of our creator so tall

White lights before me

I feel so free

Silver crowns

Dancing energy floats down

Placed upon me is a bridal gown

Then before me was a Unicorn

Bickering me to clime upon

Holding on to its golden horn

Never again will I take for granted

The seeds of believing which have been planted

For today I heard the choir sing

And I know now just to be patient

Hear the bells ring

Don’t be complacent

Without hesitation

I found myself in this situation

This was the day of a true inspiration

BUGS BUILDERS & BEAUTIFUL BLOGGETS

Sitting here with my cup of coffee. Just perfect for someone who can’t sleep right? Well had a bath and now waiting for the peace to end with Long Chops as she is always full of energy. Bless her she will be starving. It’s going on for eleven in the evening and she’s not home from work yet. I think Hub will be leaving her here tomorrow. So she can play and chill. Ten hours is a lot to be lying around on the trains and that is what she has done today.

Teen been to bed for hours. Must have been the exhaustion of cooking our dinners?

He is stressing like mad about his car insurance. He would have the money to get it, but a couple of months ago he bought it, tickets to the arena, train fair and a hotel. That’s where his money goes. Tickets for a concert. It was a valentine’s gift. What did he get?

A scrap book.

But he will never learn.

My friend said the other day that he can do so much better than what he has. I didn’t need her to tell me this. I know. But she meant in looks. Though everyone else says she is beautiful. I would rather he dated a monkey with the legs of a chicken and arms of an antique chair who would treat him with the respect he deserves. But this is his wife to be. That scares me as no way would she put up with a blind child and there is a possibility that may happen and she says she would get rid of it…. Well, that’s my Sons child too, shame men don’t have a say in the matter. Also if God forbid he ends up having my eye disease, then will she get rid of him too? I guess I kind of asked a rhetorical question there. Let’s hope he has his Fathers eyesight. Having said that, my ex and his family all have weak eyesight too. They all wear glasses, Ex just for reading, but still needs them now. I think apart from the youngest brother, Glenn. Mind you it’s been years since I saw him, he may wear them now. But at least they don’t have RP in their family thankfully.

Two days time, well, less really if you count the hours, he will be driving to college for the first time. He will be insured and all ready to go. Mind you, he may be, but not sure his little car will be so keen. He almost went through the garage door yesterday as he pulled it back in the drive a little to make more space for the bins to get in and out. We don’t know why if something slipped, but he like me got a shock. Hub is going to pay for a test it’s about a hundred pounds and to be honest, if there is anything wrong, teen won’t pay the money, but let us hope that the last lad who had it sold a good one and all will be OK?

I will write the rest of this in the morning, so it will be a take two again. For now, night night sleep tight, mind the bedbugs don’t bite.

Later is here, in fact its now the next day. It’s like blooming doggy day care in the Fifi household.   We have every toy out, well, half of them and they are all big toys. Of course they all want the same one. Why is that? Little brats….

It’s cool today. Sunnyish but cool.

It’s a good job I can’t see and I use touch type as if I could see, I would have to be long sighted as my lap top is getting further away as the weight gains, the stomach extends. Hahahah. Not funny. But what am I to do I have no control over my sudden hunger pains. I’m hungry most of the time if I was to eat every second, I would burst and a burst Fifi isn’t a good look.  Oh my friend Geordie is so slim, but she never stops. I doubt she ever sits for longer than she does coffee with me and that is possibly why we only see each other once every five or so weeks. Also she runs. The only running I do is to the toilet. Oh, and the front door when our delivery person comes. As if you are not there within three seconds, they go away. Oh really, waiting in today for a small parcel. I just wish I knew when they were coming as can’t get on with anything.

Hub got in last night after eleven. Poor thing was really tired. Ten hours by train isn’t good. And today he was up with the larks and in transit for over an hour to work again.

Saturday evening we are with Flexie, Coffee cup and friends. I haven’t seen most of them for a year.

Still waiting for the gardener, but he did say end of this week early next. Oh my poor neighbour is having a total nightmare with the builders. And you wouldn’t want to get on the wrong side of them. But really I feel sorry for her they are taking a lend. They haven’t been for a week and they are filling up her skip with someone else’s rubbish and want more much more money than they originally quoted. Dodgy builders indeed. I can’t stand people like that.  Why do builders do one hour at your house, then go to another job and don’t come back for days then they are back, we are so pleased and say nothing about where they have been and within an hour or so, guess what? They go for “supplies” and don’t come back again for days.

Why can’t they just start a job and finish? Move on to to the next one and so on.  Drives me crazy.

OK. Will go for now, but before I do, a few smiles I hope?

If builders built buildings the way lawyers write laws, the first woodpecker to come along would destroy civilisation.

The son of a builder is approaching his sixth birthday and his father asks him what he’d like as a present. “What I really want is a baby brother.” says the boy. “Sorry, son,” says the father. ”Your birthday is five days away, I can’t get you a baby brother in that time. The son replies, “Can’t you do what you do at work and put more men on the job??

“Do you Bloggets think that is what my neighbours builders are doing? No wonder they come back with a smile!

EDS TONGUE

Hello Bloggets. Just got to my lap top for the first time today. I was on my IPod communicating before but not to write a blog. I stick to the good old laptop for that.

Today was a day I expected. A day that didn’t disappoint me in the slightest.

It started at half six. Hubs alarm went off and it was all go for him. I lay in bed thanking our maker that I got his shirt ready the night before and bought him his healthy cereal so no need to perform the awaking dead over breakfast. I pulled up the duvet and stretched in a way one can only stretch when the bed has been vacated!

Hub showered shaved and cleaned his teeth without me even knowing, this is so unlike me as I hear the flies talking on the fruit trees in the fourth avenue away.

Hub gently tapped me on the shoulder and kissed me bye bye. Long gone has the guilt of not getting up with him at silly hour. I used to when he was going abroad but thankfully now he is home most nights. I love it. Also I get on his nerves as I ask have you got this that and the other? Hahahehehe.

His train was just before half seven and it was a five hour journey. So ten hours in one day he will be shattered when he comes home bless him.

His brain will be well used today this is good for him. He is doing a great job and it’s hard to imagine he hasn’t been there a year yet. But he has some great staff now. They are loyal and a true teem. He has said goodbye to the rubbish and his staff are committed. I’m proud of him and what he has achieved, but only with the help of the girls and boys of the office.

So, just as he got in the taxi with LC to the station, it was time for me to shout on Teen to wake him up. A few moans and groans, he got out of his pit and before I knew it, the fragrance of freshly made coffee and bacon was making its way up the stairs from our kitchen. Oh my word, that has to be the best smell in the mornings? Eighteen years of being a vegetarian, I still go crazy when I smell bacon cooking. There is nothing like it, I have to tell myself it’s a pig or I would simply slip back into eating meat and I never ever ever want to do that.

Teen showered, number one of the day and off he went to college with his friend.

I then got up and showered put on some work clothes and came and cleaned floors, emptied dish washer and wiped kitchen down straightened cushions on the couch, I have two red ones that go on the first sofa with my black red and cream cushion breaking them up and the other one has my two cream and blue with birds and mottoes on them and a third cushion which I can’t remember what is on it now? Gosh that is not like me?

Thankfully they have different feels so I can get them in order. I’m anal like that. Until teen and Hub chuck them about and that drives me mad.

Then time to do the dog run, oh how delightful. Gloves, bags, run shoes opposed to running shoes. Hmm. Bucket and broom. Lovely. What a way to start a day?

Did the rest of the normal bits around the house and washed the front door and the garage door then got another shower washed my hair and got dressed for my lovely friend Geordie coming.  I was so excited. I love to see her but our time is stolen from us sadly we only had three hours and really, I could quite easily spend forever and a day with her. I’m so proud of her. She’s stunning according to a young man I know and so tall and ridiculously slim. Always wears gorgeous clothes too and has a laugh that injects me with happiness.

Our boys are of a similar age and we have so much in common.

We put the world to right and ponder the world over a coffee and today, English honey and lavender cake. Yummy blooming yummy.

We had a great day sadly had to come back home to my beautiful Son and you know what? He told me he wanted to give me a day off so he made dinner. I told him how to cook it and he has made a pot of mince with lots of vegetables in it and potatoes. He has even cleaned up after himself. Bless him. I told him I’m going out more with Geordie if this is what I come back to. It smells lovely.

So a great day. Gosh, three days this week? What’s going on? Oh, I wrote a poem last night, you may have seen it, I wasn’t going to publish it to any of my groups I’m in, but some lovely positive comments have been sent to me, so I may post the poem onwards. Funny I write things and love it and nothing is remarked upon and then I write something that I think is below average, and people like it?

I guess whatever ticks your box. Oh, talking of ticking. I have filled in the on line form to register with the voting system. Hmm. Not sure why I did that it reminds me of big brother they want to know too much. Also I’m not even sure I know yet who I want to vote for. I can’t vote conservative, my parents would haunt me. I can’t vote for nasty Nigel as I think he is dangerous though I do agree with some of his policies and as for Labour? Well, I just can’t see him talking to world leaders. There is something about Ed Miliband that I can’t feel comfortable about. And have you heard the way he talks? Oh. My. Goodness.

I know I should be learning about his manifesto and all that rubbish and I say rubbish because all politicians are the same they are full of false promises, but I can’t get away with his voice. It’s his tongue or something, it’s too big. I’m not saying it’s to do with his personality, handsomility or likeability, and I’m not even sure one of those words even exist, but you get me, right? To listen to him, is a joke. This is the first time I have not got a clue who to vote for, more like who not to vote for. The green party, oh my word, her voice is worse than Eds just none of them are in my opinion suitable to run a country. I have until the seventh of May to decide.

OK must go now and sort out clothes. I’m doing it Bloggets, I’m going for it. It’s about time.

I’m putting away winter jumpers and bringing out the short sleeves. Now will this bring on stormy days? I hope not as today has been stunning.

So when I meet with Geordie, I know I’m in for a great time and this is what I mean when I say I wasn’t disappointed. As for tomorrow? Let’s see what it brings? May post a blog with a difference. Perhaps a little serious? Depends what happens in the world. But I just feel it’s been a few days since I have written anything heavy, as for Friday? Oh gosh, I’m thinking I should sleep all day. Give me pillow an extra spray of lavender. More later why?

TO BE ABLE BY FIONA CUMMINGS

TO BE ABLE

BY FIONA CUMMINGS

To paint upon your face, a smile

To feed you with energy, to walk a country mile

To hear your voice, just one more time

To feel your body, next to mine

To kiss your lips, with a gentle style

To take in your fragrance, for a little while

To wrap my arms, around your shoulders

To dream again of life, when we are older

But that was all taken away

On that dreaded November day

To be given one last chance, just to say

How much I love you, more each day

As you walked out of the door

I wanted to beg, come back for more

Just one more kiss

For you I already missed

To make you late

For that inevitable date

To hold your hand

To pull you close

To drink champagne

And give you a rose

I will never understand

Why life didn’t stop

Frees for a while

To have to dial

When you didn’t come home

To hear those words so vile

Your clothes sit in a pile

Your shoes at the door

I want you to wear them

Like you did before

We didn’t get to say goodbye

Why did you have to die?

To wake up from this nightmare

And you are laying there

It’s all been in my sleep

Words I can’t weep

Thoughts are too deep

As the morning breaks

It’s all a mistake

You are lying next to me

Is it truly you my eyes do see?

Is this your voice I do hear?

As I reach out to you, and pull you near

I thank my maker as I shake in fear

Never do I want to sleep again

For I will watch your every move

As it’s you my dear I so love

Cold sweat

Soaking wet

The devil made me sleep so deep

I, bet

But I’m awake now

As beads fall from my brow

Your perfect body breathing

I’m no longer grieving

I’m awake and have learned a lesson

I must treat you better, my darling blessing

DIARY OF FIFI AND KARATE

We say hello to our Bloggets from UK, US, Ukraine, Greece, Saudi Arabia, Ireland, Australia, Israel, Germany, and France today, just to name the top ten views. It’s a beautiful day in the UK. The sun is shining here and it’s hot. I went earlier to the shops. Oh the noise as I walked along our awful dreaded road, but we did it little Waggs and I and we were chased by a solar powered man. Hahehehe. No, he wasn’t flying along with free wind, he was whistling like a blooming kettle. It was so funny, well, my boy was dealing with wires in his car, the other day using a plastic spatula a fishing reel and a hair dryer, today? Some material. I didn’t ask. He had been pursued by a salesman and he told the man, his Mum wasn’t in, well, he the man, was still in the street, knocking at doors trying to sell his power saving devices. I was unaware of the teen and the salesman. Out I go in full flow. Well, I’m easy to see at the best of times, let alone with an aluminous harness reading “Do not distract. I mean, most people do look when a guide dog is around, but when I wasn’t meant to be in? Teen in car,

“Mum, trust me, get in the house quickly.”

I did as I was told thinking he wanted me to hear if his speakers were sounding good.

He came in, telling me the story of how I wasn’t meant to be in. hahahaha. I waited a few moments and out I went teen’s music entertaining the street from his car.

Well, the knocking came from doors as they remained closed to the salesman. Then I think he wanted me to speak with him as his whistle followed me right down the street. No, Bloggets, not wolf whistles, I think I have lost it in that department. But a tuneless sound like a crying crow, in chronic pain.

I kept walking. As I turned the quiet corner hoping he wouldn’t follow as I don’t care much for that part of our avenue, as its high with shrubs, I remembered again my self-defence days and listened for footsteps. Oh gosh, they were behind me, heck, what to do? Well, thankfully I didn’t remember my Karate moves and make Mr. Miyagi, proud or embarrassed? No back kicks were necessary thank Goodness lifting my foot up a step these days is a trial. As for a hammer punch? Well, what would my Waggs do, if I swung around to sort whistling Walter out?  I couldn’t do a straddle stance, as apart from looking as though I have wet myself, I wanted to keep walking away from the silence, all, almost apart from the deranged crow following me, towards to the deafening road. Would he wait for me coming back? If so, I would be prepared with my Kobudo with my not so sharp weapon of a giant block of Cheddar cheese.

Then to my amusement, I remembered I had changed the collar on Waggatail and it has an annoying clicking sound. So footsteps? Fiona, please, when will you start to hear like a blind person?

Few, double few, tight jeans equal split jeans doing the self-defence. Hahaha. As I said, these days, I can’t even fight my way out of a paper bag.

Our shop was empty and thankfully I had the lovely friendly guy to show me around. We had a good old chat. He’s lovely unlike the lady who won’t walk around with me, so I end up getting things I don’t want and forgetting things I do want. This guy is great, in fact all of the staff there are good. Just the one lady, who is sweet enough, but leaves you standing at the door like a bag of potatoes,

Wagga did really well on the way home and as we approached the monkeys in the zoo, I could just about hear as the road sound was the worst I have ever heard today. I heard a rumbling engine. Oh heck, just where I needed to cross? Well, I instructed Waggs and she did her stuff perfectly. She was brilliant, she’s really coming on these days and really I’m loving her new outlook. Feeling great. So good to get out.

As for yesterday with Arty? Oh we had a lovely day, the birds in our park sounded so stunningly wonderful. Pure and the lake was like a sheet of glass my friend said. Not one ripple the weather was so lovely. The sweet smell I love about spring filled the air. How peaceful. I just wish Hub and I could go there but we dare not if our dogs run off I’m sure they wouldn’t, but scared to risk it also if there are killer dogs on the field, we wouldn’t know and there are a few who frequent the park. But not yesterday. Yesterday was wonderful made me feel so happy. Just simple simple things like that. I couldn’t see the park but the fragrance of spring was delightful.

Wagga had a great time running free. And she guided me back so well too. I simply loved it!

Tried to phone Hub so many times today but he must have been on the phone for about five hours?  I told him when I did get through; it was like getting through to Putin? I had to remind him about various things for tomorrow. He’s off again. This time he will be out first thing in the morning and back really really late at night. He is meeting with the top man. Big boss day tomorrow. I have a very sneaky feeling he has volunteered himself again to something. He’s not saying don’t think he would dare. As his last job, he was in charge of so much and it almost killed us both. When I think back to those days, I shake with dread. He was really important and I think he may miss those days of really serious decisions.

I just know he used to work internationally and international was mentioned yesterday. Hmm. Oh I will go ballistic if he is back doing old stuff like that. But how would I know? I wouldn’t. I’m the not so little house wife back home. Not Mr big. Hahaha. Though he is not so big now, he is still losing weight. I thought it would be a phase but no, he’s still dedicated.

But he is a reformed slightly overweight person, reformed as in born again. You know when people give up smoking and hate everything Smokey? Or become fit and hate fatsos? Hahahahah. I don’t think in fact I’m sure he doesn’t hate me, but tells me he loves me so much he wants me to live a long life so lectures me on everything I eat. I’m finding myself now eating cereal before bed rather than toast. I don’t even like blooming cereal.

OK. Talking of Hub, he’s home from work in an hour or so I will prepare food now and then poem number seven for today has to be written. Then I’m done with those. No more weddings please? Hahah. Too much happy words, c’mon give me some dark deep dusty words to write for you. Xxxxx
