ASTRONAUTS HAIRSTYLE AND BEYOND

Good evening Bloggets. All packed ready to go to Durham to be with my family. I’m really quite excited. Hub and I haven’t managed to do anything Christmassy this year in comparison to last year where we went to Manchester a few times to do lots of music extravaganzas with regards to Christmas. This year we have done things like visit friends.

Oh it’s been a really busy day. Teen been to work most of it and then off to someone’s house to stay overnight.

We have just put our shopping away, playing guess the name of the food? Really, everything looks the same; all comes in a box or bag. All the same shapes roughly. I wouldn’t be so worried if I wasn’t a vegetarian.

Today Hub and I braved our town. I couldn’t believe it, it was so quiet? Well, the roads were. Hub went off to do some jobs and I went to our hair dressers. Oh I love getting my hair done. I really love it when they wash it and massage your head. I don’t want them to stop.

The shop is always packed though.

My hair dresser gave me a beautiful Christmas card and a gift, very kind man, clever too; he for sure leads a very interesting life.

When Hub was off on his way with LC, he saw three of his colleagues. Good job I wasn’t attached to his arm as normal, it’s so not allowed for a guide dog to guide both of us, though she does a great job. Also, what choice do we have?

We live in the real world. The world that is necessary to us. We are us and have to do what we need to do, not like we have help, is it? Also we are a couple who go shopping, is this strange? Nope, it’s normal, right?

Next time I talk to you, I will be back from my family and feeling festive with lovely memories.

Sorry for such a short blog, I promise lots more over the next couple of days.

Before I go, a couple of news stories I found interesting. Firstly On a space station an astronaut needed a ratcheting socket wrench so on land it was emailed to him and they produced it using a 3D printer. Previously they had to wait months to wait for a ship to deliver it.

It’s the first hardware to be manufactured off the surface of the earth and was produced in less than one hour. Amazing.

Did you know that the blackberry had 53% of the US market, now has less than 5%

THE DIARY OF CHRISTMAS QUOTES

Hello Bloggets, it’s wild out there, and how to start a day? Going to the blooming dentist. Oh the young dentist I saw was young enough to be my Son. This is worrying. How old do I feel?

Oh I have to go another twice after Christmas to see him too.  Wagga was brilliant getting there and back, though my dreaded day of winds forbids me from hearing properly so really relied on her. At one point it was as though I was a huu’uuge truck and she was steering me. I just couldn’t hear anything.

I must say when the young lad got an older guy in to give a second opinion on me, and the older dentist told him what to do, and the lad sounded in some kind of shock, it left me feeling rather queasy of my prospects of future treatment. I think I’m the first person he has done this particular treatment on. It’s a new way to do a filling.

Going to cost £219 too. I was laying back, thinking of England with his fingers almost down my throat, hehehe, Okay, slight exaggeration, thinking, oh, what I could do with that money?

Good job I’m NHS or the same treatment would be close to £600

I’m very proud of my Son today. He has done amazing at college. All the rest of them were playing games and he asked to work and for the tutor to show him what he could get on with in the holidays. Wow, a couple of proud parents here. Our hard work over the past years has paid off and he now is in control and I’m buzzing with pride, not because I want him to do college or whatever, just the fact he knows what he wants and he is determined.

But to get this far? Oh heck. It’s been stressful.

I’m seeing my family soon. We are going by train, staying in a country lodge with a log fire and a Christmas tree. Spending a few hours and then going to a nearby hotel for a Christmas meal.

My Brother in law wasn’t happy that we couldn’t visit him this weekend, but there is so much to do, tomorrow, we are off to town that is going to be hell on earth.

So will I get back in one piece?  Tomorrow will tell. OK, I will go for now, teen coming home for lunch then off to the gym and back tonight. Last night we had a lovely chat the three of us, no television, I felt as though it was like the olden days, hehehe, my friend was telling me yesterday about the Queens speech we have every year on Christmas day. It used to be a constitution where by the whole family would sit around the box and watch her give her speech. He told me in the olden days when there was a king; it would be live where as now it’s recorded in October. It used to be live and a normal person member of the public would announce the King and it would be recorded from a tiny room my friend said a cupboard, though I’m sure they wouldn’t put a King in a cupboard? Haha.

Some quotes before I go but sending my love to you all, keep warm and safe and if you are in a country where already it’s warm/hot,  slap on the sun lotion.

Moving between the legs of tables and of chairs, rising or falling,  grasping at kisses and toys, advancing boldly, sudden to take alarm, retreating to the corner of arm and knee, eager to be reassured, taking pleasure in the fragrant brilliance of the Christmas tree.

A VERY SPECIAL SNOWMAN BY FIONA CUMMINGS

A VERY SPECIAL SNOWMAN

BY FIONA CUMMINGS

I stand here each year

I love to hear them cheer

They place a hat upon my head

And give me a scarf so red

Then they laugh as I look like a parrot

As I wear my nose a big orange carrot

It’s like a beak

If only I could speak

But my mouth is just a carving

I have a big round tummy

They think that is funny

I don’t look as though I’m starving

That’s for sure

And my body is white so pure

I stand so proud

As gathering are the crowds

They poke me

And give me coal to see

Each year they come back to me

Same old faces and voices

Same hat and scarf

I’m without choices

I can see through their window

A fire a glow

If only I could sit near the hearth

But then I would melt too early

Rather than standing here so burly

Candles flicker

The colour of amber

The people collect logs

And carry ferns

For the fragrance is beautiful

As it burns

Lists are written

Children all warm in mittens

Puppies are given

And new born kittens

Chimney smoke keeps rising

Nothing new or surprising

But I have seen wonders

And believe me blunders

I’ve heard everything

Choirs they sing

Church bells ring

Lonely people pass

On the slippy paths

They think I can’t see them

Or hear them

But I can

As I am a very special, snowman

THE ANGEL ON THE TREE BY FIONA CUMMINGS

THE ANGEL ON THE TREE

BY FIONA CUMMINGS

As I light the candle to show you the way

I want to tell you I miss you more each day

As the flame flickers in the darkness

These words I must confess

Gifts under the tree

Meant nothing to me

Without you by my side

Each needle on the branches

Represent tears I have cried

As I look out side

Icicles hang

 And robins hide

I wish we could hear again

How the choirs sang

 On our last Christmas together

You sent me an angel’s feather

To which I hold close to my heart

Constantly questioning

Why we had to part

I can’t tell you the pain I feel

As you were my world

You were next to my red my gold

Love to hold

Stories you told

The way you made me laugh with your words

But now you are free to fly

With all the birds

I hope you never die

And leave your soul a shell

For I know my life without you is hell

So they ring the Christmas bell

It’s just a sound to me

Till you come back I can’t be happy

Though I still go through the motions

And mix the seasonal potions

On top of the tree she looks at me

And in her eyes I see

In some way each year you come back to me

Even just for a while

I see you in her smile

I get comfort from knowing you’ll never totally leave

For you have seen me grieve

So now I feel your presence

And see the amber flame

I can wrap some presents

Though I will never feel the same

I can be reassured

My pain is treated though not cured

But I know something is beyond this life

And we will meet again

I just don’t know when

But when it’s my turn

My children will light the candle to burn

And they too will learn

That I will never totally leave them

But shall watch over their night and day

And we will meet again

For love never goes away

SECRET DOWN UNDER

Good morning Bloggets, well, what a morning already? It’s very wet out there, how do I know? I have been out there with a man in my garage. Haha haha. Well, let me tell you, our door again was broken. You would lock it and then try to open it and on the second attempt without a key, it would open. So yesterday I received a phone call from a nasty aggressive engineer. He was driving hands free one would hope? Well let’s say we had words. First he asked me what make the door was? I told him, he should know this as they fitted it. He asked me what make the lock was? I repeated what I had already said. He then asked me what shape the lock was. I told him I would go and look. I did I told him and he then asked if there was an H, on the handle? I said not to my knowledge as I’m blind so can’t see it also can’t feel it other than there is an obvious line going through the centre of the handle. He asked me could that possibly be a letter H. I said I don’t know, it’s a straight line from left to right, I could not feel the other two lines to form the capital H.

He asked me was the handle black? Well, luckily I knew it was, long story how I knew, but good job I did?  Well, he then told me he would charge £112 to come out, I said I don’t think so; it’s under the years guarantee. He told me that they didn’t fit the door. I said they did and rather than bothering me, get on the phone to his office. He slammed the phone down and called back later on and told me to have two keys ready for him. Two keys? Why? He then put the phone down again. I called him back and asked him why he needs two keys? He said he would sort it out just be ready for him. Really, his attitude was dreadful. The staff on the phone are Okay, and the guy who came out to fix it in the summer was Okay too, but him?

So all night dreading him coming, but ready so ready for him. Really it’s a great feeling when you learn how not to take any rubbish from anyone. Oh it took me 42 years, but I’m there now, I know what you are all thinking,

How can it take 42 years when I’m only 32? Hahheheheh.

Well, anyway, this man was out there no more than two minutes. I went to see him, he said it was fixed. I asked what did he do, he replied nothing. I said well it can’t be fixed. He said it was and asked me to check it. I did, it was locked, but then he told me I had to slam it closed. I told him I was slamming it. I said I was going to get the other key to see if it was that, he obviously thought, oh heck, she’s not going to be so easy?

He then checked it and said

“Oh no, it’s now opened without the key?” I said yes, I know, I told you we lock it, it’s locked, and then somehow it comes open? Shows he wasn’t listening, too busy listening to his own voice.

He told me to come in the house and he would “play with it…..” In my dark garage?

Well, he then could be heard on the phone to his colleague asking how to fix my door.

After less than ten minutes he said it was done. I went out, he told me to turn the handle before closing it. He said it was the wires that had come out. I told him that was what the last person said, he said, and I quote,

“You see, when we fitted this door, it was brand new, and so it worked. Now it’s older, it’s broken!”

You don’t say?

I asked him would it happen again and proudly he replied

“Oh yes, for sure!”

I won’t be recommending his company, though he was Okay today, not rude, just slightly thick.

Doesn’t fill me with confidence though for my future garage door?

My Teen is at college he is not happy, they are playing computer games. Oh really, they are not small children, why do they need to play games at his age? He should be packing in as much work as possible. I text him and told him he didn’t have to play, he could do homework? Haha, he didn’t reply, I guess he is now playing games.

He is there till later on today, a full day, it’s a long one for him bless him. He will be tired when he gets in. He got a lift from his kind friend today, really they are lovely.

Okay, now then Hubs secret Santa at work. Oh I have been so excited about it. I envied him. Yesterday they all went out for a meal and exchanged their gifts in a pub. All on juice though as all driving. Well, all but one!!!! The team are brilliant and I feel so proud of them all. This time last year, Hub was deciding on quitting his wonderful job. He had worked for the last organisation for twenty two years, doing lots of different jobs climbing his way up the ladder, taking his Master’s in business and a couple of other degrees along the way, he got as high as he wanted to be, earning a fantastic amount of money, but really had no quality of life. He was never home more than a few days at a time. He hardly had weekends at home and could quite easily do three different countries as well as UK travel in one week.

One day I was ironing short sleeved shirts and helping him to find repellents for whatever country he was going to and the plugs he needed and a couple of days later, long sleeves and again, different plugs as well as always making sure he had the right medication or necessary injections before travelling to faraway lands.

His body clock was really confused and it really did effect both of our health and mind-set.

So it was December when he began to think about a new career, but we have debt of vast amounts of money like mortgage. He is the main bread winner and we have the responsibility for three children. We contemplated selling the house and moving to a smaller property, but really we have come so far living here and know the routes to places. It’s not like sighted people who walk around their area or drive and see sign posts or routes, we have to be taught them or stay in.

Long and I mean very long story short, after applying for other jobs, he received the interview for his position and after three long gruelling interviews they picked him. We all knew that the job he now has wouldn’t be taxing enough for him, but as ever, he found his ground and dug foundations to build a tower, to reach out to those who need help, on at first and exiguous start, but once he removed the faulty bricks and brought in new and gave confidence to those who were already doing a fantastic job but just were unaware of their offerings, he could climb the stairs to create a successful organisation and do what he is best known for, and that is making life changing events for those who are ready to hold out their hands for help.

So way back at this time last year, we were very anxious. Didn’t know our future other than thought it would be a very difficult move. I felt guilt as my Husband has worked very hard to get to where he visited. I went to a couple of meetings with him, as you may remember reading we visited Oslo together and Scotland. I was so impressed in how his colleagues respected him and so many sighted people looked upon him for approval and advice. I was one proud wife, but also saw how many disadvantaged people he helped and Government papers changed because of his hard work. He worked internationally and made so many changes in so many countries and was world renowned. So how from there to here? How would he cope?

Answer, incredibly, a very rough start as I am sure he was bored as he did what others struggled with  and had so much time to spare, but, he did what he always did and at first I was a little cross, as I thought we are going down the same path again, where he throws himself into everything forgetting about his life, but thankfully, no, I put the brakes on a lot of things he wanted to start, an yet recognised that he needed more in his life, so watched him create new beginnings just enough not to affect his health and now he has found his place and is enjoying life and already talking about what he has planned for the future but he can only do this with the cooperation of his staff and so far they have been brilliant because they are also passionate about helping and supporting people with sight loss or who have never had sight. Not only that, but he is planning on how to help families with blind or partially sighted  people in their lives and how to help those who are suffering with grief, as I said in another blog, people who have lived with their parents for their entire lives, suddenly are on their own, panick strikes in and where to go? How as a parent do you cope with the news your child is going blind? Counselling required and lots of friendly visits and phone calls. How to educate children in schools predominantly there for sighted children? To put care into homes with a blind elderly parent or an parent with a sighted child? The perception is that our sighted children do everything for us; there are some parents who allow their children to be their eyes full time. Hub and I are conscious of this and rarely ask our Son to do anything for us, I think the parents who do this all the time,  would do it if they could see and just use their kids to do what they don’t want to bother with.

Everyone thinks our boy is our eyes, wrong, we are his more times than enough and he would be the first to tell people this too! It’s not our Sons fault that we can’t see so we won’t be a Burdon to him, though it would be nice sometimes if he would go out with us places just as it would be if we could see? Just like sighted parents do with their kids.

Okay, sorry off on one. Back to the Secret Santa. So a couple of days ago, Hub took in his gift. Well, really, it was enormous. It was meant to be taken in and discreetly placed in a sack. Em, no this was about the height of a small lady or tall fifteen year old.

So it was obvious it was from him, but as they all opened their gifts no one else knew who had given to whom.

Hub received a very nice bottle of wine, some delicious sweets that I have kept the bag to take to the shop to ask what they are as really they were and I stress, were, delicious. He also received some Christmas socks, well, I think they are Christmas socks as they seem to have some kind of picture on them, if you feel carefully, you can just about feel something. What? Not sure, I guess it would be a good idea to find out? Haha, I will ask Tap Tap see, the application on my IPod.

Having said that, I told you I have just installed it, well, Hub did. So not sure how to use it, well, at first I will tell you I have never took a picture before with my IPod? I mean, come on, there is a screen, so you touch the screen to type anything, you if can see look at the screen to see things, so if you want to know what colour your Husbands shirts are, you would hold the screen to the shirt right?

No, I didn’t know that the lens to the camera was on the back of the IPod. Okay, I’m always last to learn these kind of things, I wasted some pictures as I am on a free trial and only get so many pictures, but got there in the end as I held up a shirt, double tapped the screen and faced the screen to the shirt and the answer came back of what it was as a white telephone on a brown desk.

Well, I was bamboozled. In fact, my bam has never been so boozled.

How could this be? I was holding up what I thought was a white shirt and it told me what was behind the IPod? Then the penny dropped, and believe me, the penny has a long way to drop.

So the camera lens is on the opposite side to the screen Bloggets. Okay smarty pants, you knew that? Well, I blooming didn’t but now I do, I use it and it’s Okay, I’m sure I will have some funny stories about it over the coming days.

So, the young girl he bought for, she is interested in folk music and in a passing comment some time ago, told Hub she always wanted this item, so he went and ordered it for her. Well, I first thought he had gone mad. But she loved it, and it really did cause a few laughs, as specially when all staff had a go at blowing it and no one could so a guy went for it big time in the middle of the pub and made the most enormous sound. What was it? Hehehe

 a blooming didgeridoo!!!

Made from wood with native patterns on it. So those who don’t know what one is? Also known as a didjeridu is a wind instrument developed by indigenous Australians of Northern Australia. It is believed that the instrument is about a thousand years old and the longer it is, the lower the notes are.

I mean, whatever happened to a soap on a rope? Hehehe.

So now it’s out I can say what his mystery gift was. So how can he top that next year?

Okay, I’m choking for a cup of tea now and have lots of ironing to do. Wow, I know how to live it up? Later gators. X

AN EVENINGS DIARY AND BEYOND

Tonight I was watching a program about a man who carved items out of ice.  He exhibited an orchestra totally made from ice. It was amazing. A girl sang a Christmas Carrol whilst musicians played the ice instruments. It was wonderful; they had to play quite quickly before they melted. Haha.

Teen came in from work and we watched the TV together. Hub and Teen had hot roast beef sandwiches and cake.

Oh wait for this one? We received a letter from our electric company; it was in Braille and read as follows.

“If you would like the printed letters shown in this envelope in Braille, please let us know and we will send them out again in Braille?”

Well   thing is, how do we know if we want the printed letters in Braille, as how do we blooming know what they say? Shocking?

Spoke to a friend on the phone tonight and he is getting us tickets to see a singer from the seventies. Hub likes her, but I don’t, though I am going as it should be a fun night I will just wear ear plugs for the concert and enjoy the meal before and company afterwards.

Well, I ordered my shoes on line. Oh gosh, will they fit? What on earth do they look like? Sadly I couldn’t get the nice ones to wear next week when we go to our Christmas party and gathering with the family, so I have had to just buy some casual ones. I will have to put up with the old ones for the night the ones that kill my feet, but at least they will look Okay with my dress.

Did I tell you I bought some new make up to wear? Eye shadow? Hehehehehe, I didn’t want to look like a total drag queen on the night in front of my family, so I have done a test run out on my brother in law, on Sunday, well, first I showed Teen my face, he bless him said I looked Stunning, well, I did go through a stage when I was concerned about his eyes, but thankfully, he is Okay? So I am sure I don’t look stunning, but to know I didn’t look like a clown was reassuring. Then when my brother in law came, he said nothing, and he would if I needed some of his beauty lessons. Haha.

Then when my aunt came yesterday, again, I just put the eye shadow on and something else I don’t even remember what it’s called, but I did it and Aunt didn’t even say anything negative so I must be doing something right.

Mind you she didn’t say anything positive either?

I only wear a tiny bit, Teen says it’s hardly worth it, but I think little is better than too much.

Having said that, it’s been almost seventeen years since I saw myself in the mirror, I am sure I should be covering up more these days than I do, but as long as my boy says I look alright, I have to trust him, also I asked my best friend and she is very truthful and she also said I don’t need any more make up applied. Not yet she said when I do she will tell me. And bless her she will. She’s honest.

My Sister in law said that if I want help next week, she will be there and I know she will. Oh I can’t wait to see them. I just can’t wait to feel the love that has been without and never forgotten.

To see my Nieces again too and my great Nieces and Nephews. I have never seen any of the little ones.

I’m very anxious too though. I have changed a lot since I last saw them. In a good way as far as I’m concerned. I’m me now, someone I was never allowed to be before.

Well, we have our turkey now for Christmas dinner. It’s in the freezer, poor bird. I have my vegetarian one. Hehehe, a turkey without a face. Or heart. Joking, it’s quorn.

Oh I didn’t get chance to phone my Aunt today to see how she is, I guess because I know the answer? She will be very ill and sore. I don’t like to hear this about her. I don’t want to feel guilty about her coming here. She comes because she likes to visit, not out of duty, so I won’t feel bad, well; I won’t if I don’t call her? Having said that, I worry about her and will need to know she is Okay?

Dreading tomorrow, I will tell you in the morning why? Also loads to tell you about Hubs secret Santa at work, it was funny and I will tell you about the secret gift he gave, oh you will never in a million years guess what it is?

More tomorrow with love until then, then, there will be more love. X

MY MAD AUNT CAME TO VISIT

Well, I’m here. Just! I had my aunty to visit us yesterday and this was how the day went.

I bought some cakes for her arrival. I was already, fresh bread rolls for tea as we would go for lunch somewhere, and she loves our Chinese so I wondered if she would be happy there.  I like to please her, though it’s quite difficult. I was ready to buy new shoes, as really my shoes are dreadful. One pair kills me, the others are so stained with mud and the third pair has no soal or top of shoe left. Yes, a right one I look. But shoe shopping is really impossible for us as shoes are really something you should try on, hence why one pair kill me? I ordered them on line; it’s too hard to send them back too, so I kept them.

OK, so I text her to see if she had made the train?

Answer, yes, just, only three minutes to spare.

Next she writes

“I’m at the other station and I am gutted as I have lost me coffee.”

How can you lose your coffee?

You know when you ask something and wish you hadn’t bothered? Well something to do with the fact she was looking for her tickets and next thing, her coffee “Got lost!!!!!”

Haha haha, naughty coffee, but I did feel sorry for her. Bless her, she is so stupidly innocent.

Then a phone call to let me know she was in the taxi to our house. She told me she was ill.

My Aunt ill?

What again?

This time was her back, she has had difficulties with it before and it doesn’t help that she does her decorating and lifts her Grand baby out of bed in the mornings when she stays. Gosh when I think back, my teen when he was only one would have climbed out of his cot so we had to buy a bed and put pillows on the floor, there was no waiting to be lifted, and this little one is two. She is her great Grandchild.

So my aunt said she almost wasn’t going to come. This meant she wouldn’t be able to go to town with me. Well, originally  it was to buy Hub some Christmas gifts, but thankfully, I rely on no one now and all his gifts with teens and everyone else’s were bought some time ago. Good job hey?

Well, the taxi pulled up, the driver took her case out of the car for her, she got it on wheels to the step and asked me to lift it for her, well, you know, she is in her seventies, though by her voice, you wouldn’t think it. To me she will always be thirty odd.

Very odd.

Well, I lifted her case in the house, not that she was staying, but it was full of Christmas presents. She even buys for the dogs and our canary, he’s Irish you know? Haha.

Oh I gave her fresh coffee. It wasn’t really good enough for her. I asked her if she wanted some coconut cake. She said no, it was too sweet, well, chocolate cake? No, it would hurt her teeth, Christmas mince pie? No, again too sweet.

Then she offered me some of her chocolate she had on the train, she told me how delicious they were, and they were very sweet indeed.

Well, she had to go out for a smoke. After a talk for a while, I asked her if she was well enough to go for lunch to Louis’s. Oh yes. She was.

I took Wagga, and my Aunty was well impressed with her. She did well.

So did my dog.

Hehehe

We got there, she hugged Louis. He was as cute as ever. Funny as heck.

The beautiful Alice who is from some eastern bloc country, not Poland, I can’t remember where, but she is the sweetest person ever. What a stunning couple her and Louis would make. Better than the dragon he is married too.

Well, we had our meal, Aunt had some prawn crackers, and she dipped them in her soup. She was disappointed that they became soft….

Em, yes, they would if you dip in hot soup?

Then came the main course. Mine was lovely. I had chips with mine and aunt after being asked if she wanted this and that sauce, said she wanted vinegar. So I had some on my chips. Very lovely too.

Then after aunt had almost finished her lunch, she said that she wasn’t enjoying it. The chicken was not nice. I asked what was wrong with it, she didn’t know.

Then she had only a few chips left in her dish so poured them on and poured on the vinegar too.

Then she realised that it was the vinegar that was off.

What?

Nothing wrong with it? I loved mine.

She told the poor Alice, who can hardly speek English, so Louis came over and he speeks even less English, oh God. The whole restaurant was listening.

Well, this conversation went on and on and on I died with shame.

She had to go out and have a smoke. After poor Louis was almost in tears as he really doesn’t like anyone not enjoying his food.

Well, she was out there ages.

I guessed phoning her em, friend? She lives with.

She has to phone her at least four times during her visit to us.

She said she needed a cigarette to “Take away the nasty taste of her food!”

I paid for the meal and left.

Teen went back later as we forgot it was dear Louis’s birthday, so took a card.

Teen was lovely to our old Aunt. Though did lecture her on not smoking. It fell on deaf ears.

She lay on the couch for a while as was in pain. We talked until Hub came home.

Well, I talked.

Hub came in from work and received his birthday gifts.

Oh

My

Word?

Well, he received some miniature bottles of whisky he loves. Some sweets the only kind he likes maltase’s.

And

A mask.

No, not a dead sea mud mask, but a mask you twist the button on the nose and the eyebrows move up and down along with the tash.

Oh gosh. Really?

Hub does laugh in the right places though and I guess she had to top last year’s smurf t/shirt and children’s mouth organ.

OK, she was two months late, but at least she bothers unlike his Dad and brothers. Hehehe. Though really she shouldn’t?

Our Christmas gifts are upstairs waiting for Santa to place them under the tree on Christmas Eve.

So I gave her some tea and a sandwich and she left by the same form of transport as she came. Taxi and train.

I’m sure she will be exhausted now for a week.

She is lovely and I do love her and life without people like her would be so dull. She has been and always will be my mad aunt

THE DIARY OF CHRISTMAS QUOTES

Good day Bloggets. Not long back from the shops. Wagga decided to take me somewhere else. This time though, I was ready for her, I knew I had passed where I needed to be, but thought I would trust her and it was just me being impatient. No, it wasn’t me, but her, who was bored going to the same places so took me on a mystery tour.

I didn’t panic but did slightly fear that dreaded road again. The speed of those cars and the noise is terrifying.

Well, long story short, we found our way and did the shopping we needed to do. Got back Okay too.

Now two dogs driving me crazy with playing with their toys the noise on the wooden floors with eight paws is blooming annoying, with the occasional growling and very odd bark. Tails banging off our Christmas tree and baubles clashing isn’t good.

Teen out then he’s off to work. He is at the gym right now. Hub at work, it was time today for him to take in his secret Santa gift for work. Secret? That’s funny, as everyone is to bring the gifts in, discreetly pop them in the large bag they have for opening day on Wednesday, well, if you could see the gift he has bought? Oh my word. I will tell you after Wednesday, but it’s hilarious and as for being discrete?? Em, no. Impossible.

Our weekend was nice; Hubs Dad and brother came to visit. We exchanged Christmas gifts and had some happy hours together, but the time flew. It’s been a year since they were last here and nine months since we saw them at our other brother’s wedding. But they lead busy lives so on their journeys they went. It was funny though as I asked my brother in law to bring me a stake for my indoor plant, the only one I have left that looks any good. Oh gosh, you should see the stake he has brought? It’s seven foot tall; my plant isn’t even three foot? It looks ridiculous. I told my Brother in law, I would pole dance around it, and he looked at me and said in a very dry voice

“It’s only plastic love. Haha haha

Cheeky.

But true.

I really don’t know what to make for tea tonight. I’m so fed up of cooking. Thinking about what to cook is the hardest thing. I have a Son who eats like a horse, no I don’t mean he has no table manners, but there’s no stopping him with his appetite.

He is complaining he’s not getting enough to eat. Oh crazy boy, he wants to take to college four small tubs of food so he can eat throughout the day. Madness. I told him he was weaned off his baby food seventeen years ago. He’s not a baby who needs the bottle every three/four hours.

His friends who are into the body building are all eating like that. It’s stupid. You can’t eat four times in a six hour day at college. What will he do in the work place? Ask his boss to have time off to go for food?

He wants to be massive.

I, don’t!

So can I give him some of my bulk?

Tomorrow my Aunt is coming for the day. When I say day, I mean from early morning till late at night.

She wants to do our town and go for a meal at our local restaurant.

Hub is working. So it’s me and her.

I ordered Hub some shirts and they came, they are nice and good quality, but so long? Really, who did they model them on, a giraffe?

He has put Tap tap see on my IPod. Now how to use it? He had it on his phone, but you have to pay for it now, he said he would get it for me as I am the one with the washing and it would be helpful to ask my IPod what colour things were/are? Also it may be able to help me with food labels? I must see how to use it and begin. Life may be easier.

I got on our bathroom scales today. There was an enormous clink sound. Oh gosh, what was it? I don’t know but when I tried to investigate, one of the feet has gone inside of the scales. Also it’s telling me I weigh a stone lighter than I did a week ago. No, I haven’t lost all that weight, the broken foot must have something to do with it, now, how to break the other three? Haha haha.

I must say the talking scales are rubbish.

And they lie.

I have to write out Christmas cards today, just realised we haven’t got a card for my Auntie. Oh she won’t be happy. Well, its all so blooming difficult. Really sometimes at this time of year, I could cry. It all gets too much for us. I stress like mad, it’ss so difficult to buy gifts and there are so many to buy for.

Yesterday I had to put on a tag for the gift Hub took to work. Which way? Was I writing over the official writing? Today I had to find a birthday card and Christmas card, thankfully I keep them separate. By the time I found them, then had to remember what card was what? Then find the address on my computer, then the stamps, really, to a sighted person, they would go there there and there, me? Where where and where?

As for the stamps? Well, our  Maj

May find her head is upside down on the envelope, better than some years ago, when she may find herself without a head, right?

Having said that, the stamps I have may not have our queen on, they do picture ones don’t they?

Oh Ive probably sent a stamp of some summer scene.

Well, they just go in the bin, don’t they?

OK, I will go for now, enough moaning, but before I go, here are some famous Christmas quotes.

Moving between the legs of tables and of chairs, rising or falling,  grasping at kisses and toys, advancing boldly, sudden to take alarm, retreating to the corner of arm and knee, eager to be reassured, taking pleasure in the fragrant brilliance of the Christmas tree.

T S Eliot

Santa clause has the right idea, visit people only once a year.

Victor Borge

If you haven’t got any charity in your heart, you have the worst kind of heart trouble.

Bob Hope

“I stopped believing in Santa claws when I was six. Mother took me to see him in a department store and he asked for my autograph.

Shirley Temple

I love this one

I wrapped my Christmas presents  this year with the wrong paper. It said happy birthday on it, I didn’t want to waste it, and so I just wrote Jesus on it.

NATURES VIEW BY FIONA CUMMINGS

Natures View

By Fiona Cummings

Wild winds blew

Such a wonderful view

Blades of grass

Framed a narrow path

Boulders covered in moss

Have to be careful not to get lost

No lights around

Rugged ground

 Silence is a wonderful sound

Are these days

For the modern ways

Is such a haze

A foggy blur

Icy fingers

Point to footprints of what was once there

The soul lingers

Spirit features

All around me

Its aerie

But I love this

Nature is like your first kiss

As though to be deprived

You would miss

All the beauty that has been tried

And beyond that now

Ask yourself how?

Each time you look around here

There is newness near

Perhaps to fear

Although admire too

What an amazing view

Birds fly

 With such grace

Leaving a trace

In the sky

One has to ask why?

Such nature was given to us

Without a fuss

It’s so beautiful

Though dutiful

Each leaf has a purpose

Among the rough terrain

Grows a rose

How it got there

No one knows

Drinks from the rain

Feeds from the sun

Stands alone

As white as a dove

As though to reach high above

Like it’s an honour to be there

Without a care

Knowing of its high importance

Thorns clinging onto a fence

Battered is the wood

How long has it been there?

Used to separate

And I’m sure a chair

For the view from that patch

Is of one I have never seen before

Distant valleys

Tunnels without a door

Open for the elements to roar

Winds howl like whistling kettles

Evil poison from needles of nettles

Smell the earth

Beneath my feet

It’s like the birth

Of your first child

Or first time you and your love meet

So wild

So baron

An yet picturesque

An old tree so statuesque

With mistletoe hugging, the limes are caressed

This land was left to us

A gift, a bequest

And we ought to respect

Allow Mother Nature to rest

Standing here is the best

It’s free from hell

And I want to keep it a secret

So please don’t tell

Of this wild unspoiled countryside

That wants to be left and hide

I don’t blame it as so would I?

To rip up the flowers that has been here for years

Is enough to reduce the hardest person to tears?

  To chop down the trees

Acting like canopies

Kept me dry in the rain

This land is  for wildlife

So leave it to the birds

The bees

The herds

The rabbits and the fox

Badgers and rocks

Full of character and history

Unsolved mystery

These are words

From me to you
