MONDAYS DIARY

Good afternoon Bloggets. Well, psyching myself up for the big day tomorrow. My Aunt is coming. Already she asked me to book her a taxi. She’s not even here and doesn’t leave until tomorrow evening at eight.  But as I told her. “Not to worry. I will book her taxi for leaving!”

It’s going to be a long day. She arrives at half ten and leaves at eight. What to do with her? Hub working and at a meeting in the evening. He promises me that it was not done deliberately.

Bless her thick sports socks. She my only Aunt. As for her ex Husband, my Mums brother, he’s a waste of space.

Oh my Son today did another thing to make his Mum proud. He went to the gym and saw the lady behind the desk. She looked really ill. He asked her if she was OK. She replied.

“No. it’s the new cancer treatment. It’s making me so ill and I have four hours here to work.” To which is reply was. “Here is my phone number. I’m working today, but if you are ever so ill again and I am not working, give me a call and I will do your shift free of charge.” He said “Mum. To see someone so ill was heart breaking.” My eyes filled with tears to see my darling Son be the kind wonderful person I brought up. A loving caring lad we lost for a while to the devil woman, but thank God she is gone now and I hope is dancing with the flames. My heart goes out to those who have cancer and who are suffering. As it is so awful that to earn a little money you still have to work when so very ill. Then you get those with silver spoons in their mouths that never have had to worry or work a hard day in their lives.

A knock on my front door today a man telling me that they are digging up the path at the front of my house. So to be careful. It was the same company who told us when we were out the other day, for the other side of the road was also being dug up. I’m now afraid to go out. If Hub comes back and tells me it’s Okay, then I will be alright. I phoned to tell him to be careful when he comes in from work. No doubt my dear… Aunt will almost trip tomorrow and when she and I go out, oh boy, I think she may ask the builders to form a bridge to let us out…

I’m sure our avenue of all sorts will look really attractive.

Not!

Really looking forward to Wednesday to see my friend Geordie. I need a fix from her. She makes me laugh. I don’t think she means to, but she is naturally hilarious.

Missing my darling Husband so much today. Not sure why some days are harder than others. But today he is on my mind a lot. I think it’s because of what’s going on here. We have had to avert our attention to one another, to another.

Easy dinner tonight. A rubbish one really. As for tomorrows tea with aunt? Oh I will have to buy some food in M & S.  We are going to town. So I will get it there. For lunch, she likes to go to Lewis’s I would ask if she fancied trying across the road, but I fear that road. Not sure my old aunt could cope with it?

  Not sure I could cope!

Our ceiling had another leak the other night. If it’s not one thing, it’s another.

Teen left for work now. I made his lunch and off he goes again. He’s facing a big change in his life. He I’m sure is panicking. He has confidence beyond normality, but sometimes he pushes too far. Thanks to Hub, who has taught him anything within reason is possible; who has shown our Son that you can achieve, Teen I’m sure will do so well. My Husband is brilliant and Teen see’s this on a daily bases. He is my hero.

More blank letters fell through our door today. What do they say? I really don’t know. I just can’t get my head around scanning. I think it’s because my brain won’t take in much more in life. Hub does this so well, but, he doesn’t have to make up menus every day. To make sure the family receive nutritious food and have to make sure the laundry basket isn’t full and all ironing is done. He doesn’t have to order the food we need and toiletries cleaning items and so on and he doesn’t deal with things like house hold insurance. Also Teen keeps me pretty occupied with what a Mother is to do. On top of that I have new things in my life to do which really are bringing back to life the old grey matter. So tech is his thing. Accounts financially like budgets are his thing. Planning and so on with relations to work.

So in other words, I can’t take in much more info. I envy those who can do it all.

OK on that note, I will leave you with some quotations. Some old and some new. From me?

On that fragrant note I shall kiss you bye bye for now. X

MINDLESS

Good day Bloggets. Wow, my mind is always a mess. Constant traffic driving me crazy hidden corners and blocked roads which suddenly open into motorways and eventually into country lanes of leafy foliage and then through long dark tunnels.  What will be at the end of the tunnel? I never know and the anticipation oftern fills me with anxiety.

I mentioned a few blogs ago that my world was racing and I couldn’t keep up. Someone was directing me and I had no control. Well, now, that person or something is guiding my loved one and we don’t know the outcome but have to go with the guiding hand linked to the pointing finger.

Most of my life has been told to me what I should and will do. Only one time in my life I have took the steering wheel and drove that car, but the car wasn’t big enough to carry all of my baggage so I had to learn to drive a bus. Now in a train going along the fast tracks I will get off this train get into that taxi and be driven down the mystery motorway moving through motionless mindless traffic with robotic minds also being driven by the same demons? Or, perhaps angels, who knows!

Will we crash?

MEMORY OF (THE TREE) BY FIONA CUMMINGS

Looking back at a poem I wrote a year ago. I have many thoughts on this. And what pictures it could paint.

The Tree

By Fiona Cummings

 The tree that grows

Hugged by the rose

Tells a story from yesteryear

Bear in winter

Bits of bark splinter

But bloom in spring

From routes deep within

Under the ground

Stretching out all around

Bowing down

To tell a tail

Survived snow, wind and hail

Wearing its medals of flowers so pale

Circled by nettles and a lonely daffodil

If only we could sit down and get some answers

Learning all about our ancestors

How many people have sheltered under hear

Looking out to the overflowing weir

The steep muddy banks

And fast new road behind

I would like to give thanks

To all nature we find

You ask nothing from us

You don’t cause a fuss

Just hope for seasons to be kind

And not to be replaced by concrete

You make life complete

Beautiful tree

You provide beauty for me

You keep your secrets to yourself

Put away on your oak shelf

Well, I won’t ask you to whisper

The secrets you know

And why on your trunk you have a blister

Who did that to you

I will never know

Just please grow

Tall to the sky so blue

Forever I will respect you

DIARY OF FRIENDS VISIT

Ch 1

What a day so far? Its Friday right now and well after two in the afternoon. My friend was dew from London at one. She has had a dreadful journey. Her train was delayed she went for a taxi the rank was full of people and she then went to the bus stop. Waited for a bus for twenty minutes. She was then told that her bus wouldn’t come for another twenty at least so back to the taxi rank. The queue was even longer.

I have cleaned downstairs and that took some doing. Just little jobs that turn into big jobs. Dusted all the tops of pictures mirrors washed three bathrooms put loads of teen stuff away. His room? Oh my word. It’s a tip.

Tidied the guest room, it was already cleaned just final bits and bobs. Just remembered didn’t put a clean towel out, oh well, that can be done later. Washed the floors after hoovering them. So, mopped them. Then got on my knees and scrubbed them. Only to knock over a huge plant of mine. Not only did the pot fall but the soil came out, all that was left was the bit around the routes. The soil didn’t just stay in one place, oh no, it went from one end of the room to the other.

Piles of soil I managed to clean, but it’s like sand or salt. It’s impossible to clean it all up. And stain? Oh no…. Hoover again, and again. Getting in all the cracks of each tile. Then mopped and again on the floor with new cloths. I am sure that it still will be a mess. But it will have to do. I just hope Julie won’t think I’m dirty.

Then cleaning the kitchen properly for the fourth time this week. Lifting everything off the worktops. The thing is when you can’t see, you really really worry that people think you have a dirty house because you are blind? If I could see I bet I wouldn’t do as much housework? Haha haha. Bring on that cure?

Ch. 2

Julie arrived. Oh it was fantastic to see her. We had a cake and cupper then I harnessed Waggatail up and off to the big shop we went. Waggs was a good girl even crossing the road of death. When we got to the big food outlet, she so badly wanted to do her normal route and go to the pet shop. But I said no, and in the centre we went. I dropped the harness, and linked Julie’s arm. It’s amazing how if you can see, shopping is so very easy. I don’t think people with sight realise how lucky they are. Or if you have a sighted partner. There was no stress in finding anything. I was shown foods I didn’t even know existed. I know that sounds ridiculous, but it’s true. We bought food to make a fantastic African vegetarian curry. It was a recipe of Julie’s. Wagga was great, she only did one thing wrong and that was to sniff a ladies bottom who was bending over. I must say, I said to Julie, she never does that.

Wagga that is, not Julie.

But then I thought, well, how would I know if she was doing something quite so awful? It’s not like she announced it?

Anyway, we came out with our bags, we were going to walk home, but caught the bus instead. So easy, so good.

Got in washed hands and began our girly cooking. We had a laugh it was such fun. The smell was beautiful. It was for the day after. We bought freshly made Pizzas for dinner that night.

Next day, we went to town. That again was brilliant. The shops excited me. I went into a shop I have always wanted to go into. And that was Jo Malone. It is a perfume shop. But it is a fortune to buy anything. The ladies were so delightful. Wanted LC to come in but Hub stayed outside with her. I don’t suppose I will ever be able to afford anything from that shop, but to be in there and smell the wonderful perfumes was rather nice. Mind you, on me, the perfume was difficult to smell. It wore off after a few moments. But oh, whilst it lasted, it was amazing. A fragrance like no other.

We went for a cup of coffee. Oh it was a lovely coffee shop and I had a delicious cake with a wonderful cup of coffee. It was a great atmosphere. Then off to buy shoes. Wow, I managed to get some beautifully comfortable shoes. I remember the days I wore heal that made me over six feet tall. Pencil thin heals but now? Practical. Though I found some shoes that were not only practical, but attractive. I also managed to get some money off them. That made me happy too!

I only buy shoes when I’m with Julie make up the same. Last time I bought make up was last Christmas. The shop I get it from isn’t easy to get to, in fact almost impossible to find. But with Jules the sighted one, smile, nothing was impossible. Bless her. I feel bad because every time she visits we need something. Gosh, I so badly wish I could see enough to do these kind of things on my own. We can do the basics and to do that I am glad to say I’m proud to do. But anything which involves fun, we have to wait for someone with sight.

We had a walk around our town, saw some lovely shops soaked in the atmospherical environment and made our way home. Hub was a little ill, as he had cereal with banana in that morning. We were unaware that there was banana in it, and he is allergic to it. But apart from that bit of worry, it was a lovely day.

Ch 3

We came home, poured a glass of wine and heated up our curry. Teen came home from work and we all sat around the table to eat.

What would this curry be like?

I loved the food so much. I’m not kidding, it was absolutely delicious. It had three foods I have never heard of in my life. Oh but it was stunningly delicious. Professional. We have the recipe written in Braille. I’m going to get Hub to make it so he gets the blame if it’s not as good as Julie’s haha.

We had a lovely evening. Just us and our dear friend. We love her. She’s so brilliant. My friend for twelve years now and she was my girl Friday for our wedding. A true big sister. I can’t wait for her next visit. When she left today, which is Sunday, the house was empty. Hub and I missed her.

Teen came in from a ten hour shift at work. Financially, Teen is in a bit of trouble right now. But in the long run, he will do so well at this job. He has been working there for eleven months, but he has a lot of money to pay out for things now, a lot of responsibilities so the next couple of years will be tough, but worth it. His boss loves him. I can’t believe he has worked there that long? And he’s only eighteen and it’s his forth job. One thing he isn’t, and that is lazy at work. I hope for his sake, his Father will help him out as he is costing us a fortune, so we can’t help him anymore. But let’s see.

I will go for now, but today I’m grateful for my friends. I have some beautiful friends, who are like a family to us. I waited so long to find them all but now I have, they are my precious jewels. And, forever I will treasure them.

Tomorrow, back to work for hub and myself. For me volunteering. For Hub, his office. For teen another shift. And for you?

NOW DON'T TELL ON ME?

This is going to be written in two parts in the same blog though, as

I was making Teens lunch as he was in a hurry for work when I missed a call. Phoned the very important person back took down notes as I spoke on the phone, stirring the pasta. Thank goodness for my Dictaphone. Really if you don’t have one, they are tiny and hold so much imperative information. From a quick phone number, to a note/date to an interview I’m doing so I don’t need to type notes as I’m receiving the information. Only down side of that is I only can hear my own voice as I do the interviewing over the phone.

I know where the delete button is though to get rid of my voice.

I’m not sure of the time, Hub working from home, I made his breakfast, and lunch and apart from that, I haven’t seen him. He has been in the living room me in the conservatory. So why not the office? You should see that room. It’s disgraceful. I so need one of those teams from the telly who come and just do it…. You know, re arrange the room rather than what I have now, it looks as though we have been burgled. Trouble is, we have no cupboards anywhere to store anything and you know I’m a bit of a hoarder. So our office is full of everything.

Tomorrow I have an interview to carry out then a case study to write then send another interview off to press. I love it. And, I have a meeting early in the morning this time not real life meeting, no; it’s not in a morgue. But over the phone. A lady wants a poem for her daughters eighteenth. Daughter’s, more than one. More than two. Yep. Triplets. Now then. They are all different so three totally different poems to write. And of course I don’t know them and I can’t talk with them as this is a surprise. Well let’s hope I can do it justice and not make it a surprise for the Mother organising it?

I have also been contacted by a rather unusual person wanting to be friend me on Facebook. Least said about this person, the better. All I can say is I won’t be excepting them. Why? Oh my word. I said I would write this blog in two parts. It’s not going to be volumes.

I receive only a few or perhaps up to about eight Facebook requests per week and except about one, every six weeks. It’s odd as I write blogs. So the world sees my life. But fb is different. That is opening my door as there are photographs and my friends are on there so by me having let’s say different people on my friends list, means that my real, friends are subjected to some em. Different. People.

My Hub thinks already I have some folks who are not quite fitting in with normal society. As I tell him, neither do we. Smile. If anyone tells me I’m normal I will be disappointed with myself. Hehehe.

Tomorrow. Yeah. My dearest friend is coming to stay. Oh I’m so excited. Then next week? My mad Aunt. Oh. Wow. That will be an (interesting) day?

I wonder what shop we will visit. As I dare to take her into our town. Hehehe. God love her. Please? She is getting on in age. But doesn’t look it and certainly doesn’t act it.

There is an exciting buzz around our house at the moment and I’m so enjoying it. It’s a feeling I only wish I could bottle. So the buzz would become fizz and it would be my gift to those who need it.

Right, off to cook now, dinner tonight for the boys will be steak, new potatoes mushrooms onions and carrots. Keep reading as will add later whilst waiting for Hub to have finished listening to his rubbish. Sorry, oo’oo’oo no. Really, em. Radio program he listens to each evening. Haha.

Well, he won’t read my blog so I can get away with that, right? Don’t you dare grass on me now?

I’m back. Went to make steak turned out it was mince. Oh well. Same poorr slaughtered animal, right?

My talking clock is so much in need of some new batteries. Her voice is getting slower and deeper. Teen put some new bulbs in our kitchen yesterday. I was unaware that they needed changing. They were all out. Not sure what teen has been doing to see in there for the past whatever? You know those spotlights? So there were six all out.

Hub just told me that the day my aunt is coming, he has to work day and night. Great. He’s going to be helpful? Smile.

Teen put in a long day today he’s still at work and its quarter past seven. He has another forty five minutes. Tomorrow he’s working nine hours. And he’s working all weekend too. One thing he isn’t and that is lazy in the job department. As for his room? Well, it’s still suffering from festival fever.

OK on that note, must go and prepare my friends bedroom for her visit tomorrow! I hope you have all had a good day and tomorrow brings you hope. With love

FUTURE OF FAT FUN

It suddenly dawmed on me last night, either my arms are getting shorter, bits are dropping off my lap top to make it smaller or, my stomach is pushing my lap top further away from me? Smile. I got on the scales and confronted that awful little lying lady who tells the full house of my fictional weight. Well, she is either fibbing again, or telling me that I’m not as heavy as I expected. Off and on, off and on again. Same weight each time an yet I feel so much bigger. So, is it just that my weight is distributing in different places? Hmm. Or, does she have a sick sense of humour? If the latter, she will find that I am going to remove her batteries. That will show her? Also mean I won’t know what size I am? But there you go.

I don’t do small portions. I have told you before. I’m so hungry these days; my soup bowl should come with a lifeguard

I read that one hundred laughs per day are equal to ten minutes of exercise. Hmm. Where’s me tickling stick? The best diet is the garlic diet. Why? Because though you don’t lose any weight, you look thinner from a distance. I think the older you get the tougher it is to lose weight as by then, your body and fat are really good friends.

I’m very very very veryveryveryvery excited about a new project I’m working on right now. Gosh, if this works out, I will feel proud of myself for the first time for so many years and only the third time in my life. I will tell you more if it is a success. If it is, wow, well. “I will dance until the music stops, and when the music no longer can be heard, I shall sing to give rhythm to my feet!””

DIARY OF SILVER HOPE

Good day Bloggets. A quick blog today as still have a lot of work to do and that is before housework. As you may have read in my earlier published poems, today is a year since my dear darling Guide dog had to be put to sleep. A year ago a week ago from today, we thought all was fine. So fast she failed with the effort of living and sadly we didn’t know she was failing until it was her last hours. We couldn’t see her white gums and the discolouration in her fur as the vet put it. We couldn’t see when she went to the toilet that all wasn’t well. But we took her to the vet for what we thought was just a bad bout of her arthritis, sadly the vet we took her too really wasn’t at all concerned bothered whatever you want to call it, needless to say, we changed vets, but sadly it was too late for my BB.

Oh how much my heart is hurting today? My lashes are preventing tears from falling. I don’t want to be an emotional wreck today. But my heart hurts. So badly. I just want to put my hand out and feel her silk fur. To hear the little cute sounds she made from a baby. The loss of any pet is difficult enough but your first guide dog?

Oh the day she had to retire because of her age was bad enough as we went to the shop the long way round, and she honestly never worked as well before that day. It was as if she knew she wasn’t going to work anymore. I was so upset. Was she trying to prove she could still work? Did she just want to do her best for her Mum one last time?

The times we had together me and her. She was my guide from my Son now eighteen was five. She guided me to school and back. Preventing my Son from being bullied as with my white cane he was dreadfully teased. And before I used a white cane, he at the age of three and four was told by other children that they couldn’t play with him because his Mummy was always drunk.

I had to start to use a white cane for lots of reasons, but little did I know of what would go on in the playground. Moving onto my Hanna and then suddenly parents wanted to know when I went blind. Really, some people are so cruel and stupid and I truly hope that they will get what they deserve. I know that isn’t charitable, but when you are blind it can be an existence a battle with waking up in the morning, but when you are faced with such people? And more so when your child is affected, my heart was torn out. Just to get him to school and back was the biggest challenge especially when it was icy. And when it was snowing, I couldn’t tell the difference between the path, road and fields. I never slept as the night before I really dreaded my challenges getting my Son to school and when I was back home I would worry myself sick how to get back for him? What if I got lost? Who would be there for him? Who would look after him? Oh never would I wish those days on anyone.

There was no help at all. Nothing. Because my Son thank God could see. If he was visually impaired then they may have been help I was told. I really really hope no one is going through that and if you are young married and planning for a child.  Remember, the night before, I could see enough to read tiny print.

 Then I woke up.

Please RP’s. Prepare yourself for the worst don’t be like me. Who never believed it would happen. I can’t even imagine how I got my Son to nursery and back for a year without any aid.

Talking of my Son, I can’t say too much now but for the next four weeks, he is in for a huge challenge. My Hub thinks he is mad, I think he is brave. You get nowhere by standing still.

He brought his car from the festival; oh you should have seen it? I gave him £20 to go and get it cleaned professionally. It’s looking good now and inside is so much better. He really really enjoyed the festival, so that is great, but so expensive. From this month he will be paying rent. A lesson Hub says for his future. My ex had to do it with his mother and quite a bit too. It was so unfair for him though. Whilst his greedy thieving sister and younger brother, as for his brother, I liked him, as for his Sister? Payed nothing, my ex had to pay full amount. That was his family sadly, He was an outsider.

Guess who is at my door? Our window cleaner. Oh my word. I’m in shock.

Well that was a few hours ago. I am back to finish this blog. So what have I been doing since I left you? Not with my window cleaner, hehehe, that’s for sure. But cleaning my glass cabinet. Oh my word. The concentration of doing that. I think I got to about fifty seven Chrystal glasses and then lost interest in counting. I sent for two silver cloths to clean my silver wear. Not that we have much, a few bits from Ebay like two solid silver candlesticks. A very ornate mirror and some kind of religious dish my Husband got many years ago as a gift from someone high up in the church. You should see these cleaning cloths? I don’t know how they dare call them cloths. More like scrappy bits of left over material. Half the size of glasses cleaners. Now, is my silver clean? God knows and he isn’t telling me but my fingers keep locking as dealing with such a tiny bit of material scrubbing away same place over and over.

OK, going to fit in some work before Hub home. So on a very odd day where I hurt for my BB, = Black Beauty, we had some good news too. Well hopeful news which filled me with pride. Later gators. X

R.I.P

This is what I wrote one yeare ago today

R.I.P Hannah 2 September 2014

Whilst my heart is broken, and my stomach aches with a loss I will never forget, I now today for the first time, feel like I can write. My world is in a haze and I breathe smell and walk through motions of life, an yet can’t live without suffering.

To some my BB was just a dog, to me she was life. She took me from a dreadful state in life many years ago to a whole new world of less confusion and a sense of freedom

She was the love when I didn’t have any from a partner and apart from my Son, a family when I dreadfully missed my parents. She was always there no matter what. She knew when I was low and played when I, had time. She herself was a prisoner to me, chained to me, but I was a loving warden who didn’t want to ever let her free to the beyond where we don’t understand.

But I really hope she has found a perfect place to live now, and I hope she will get looked after as she was a shy little girl and kept away from trouble and conflict. I have really fallen out with my belief of afterlife an God or our maker of late because of so many things going on right now, but where else has she gone?

The lump in my throat is huge. The ulcer in my stomach burns and my tiered stained face is cut.

My Husband has been amazing, as he too is suffering; our dogs have been until today really odd. So quiet and haven’t wanted to play, though to try to get them out of their depression, we have tried to play with them.

Putting two dogs to bed and shouting for two dogs to go out, feeding two dogs rather than three, and missing so much of what my BB/ Hannah used to do. The pet names we had for her too. It’s horrible, excruciating. I have lost pets before but my first guide dog, and what she meant to me. She was so unique. She used to lay down, with her little legs crossed like a real lady. I felt her amber eyes though couldn’t see them; the love she projected from them was so warm.

I want so much to get a sign that she is OK. But so far nothing.

First poem was written eight months before she died, when she retired.

Second, a year ago today.

Hannah and I took our last walk today and a sad day it was.

I have cried so much

PAWS 4 THOUGHT

BY FIONA CUMMINGS

I was in your shadow

It was you I was to follow

Such pride you did show

I am so grateful for you, you know

I put on my coat and shoes

Inside my nerves I knew I would lose

But you put your little head in my hand

Patiently you did seem to understand

And the world was ours

You gave me powers

You gave me hope

Unleashed the rope

You showed me love and happiness

Oh my little beauty our days I will miss

For ten years my loyal friend

With me until the end

You were my first guide

It’s not been an easy ride

But we got there my little Labrador

Now my tears hit the floor

As I have to hang up your lead

My heart does bleed

Your harness will be handed back

As I say thank you to my beauty in black

Kiss your head

And shake your paw

Make you a comfortable bed

And we will play forever more

Your working days are over

But my love will show forever

Thank you my darling Hannah

ANGEL BEAUTY

BY

FIONA CUMMINGS

A perfect peaceful place

Sunshine on your face

Water by your side

Laying on a blanket

All calm so very quiet

No more pain

A forever game

Your favourite toy

You gave so much joy

Your loyalty was phenomenal

They say you were just an animal

But to me you were my world

A very special girl

You saw the way clear in the fog

You were an amazing dog

Grateful for just a walk in the park

You were the light in my world of dark

A pocket full of treats

We would find the wooden seat

Watch the world go by

Why did you have to die?

Now it is your turn

No more work

Nothing left to learn

Time for you

A window with a view

A happy free existence

Every day a new experience

Your four paws can run free

You no longer have to be tied to me

But now who will help me to see

I will miss you my little beauty

For always you were such a cutie

Fly now to the angel above

It’s time for them now to show you love

I shall never forget you

Or ever stop loving you

You opened my world

With your heart of gold

You stood by me

Each and every day

You never once turned away

Your amber eyes looked up to me

Even though you knew I could not see

I knew you were looking into my heart

And you shall be there always

Though now we must part

Goodnight my Black Beauty

I pray you will be happy

Thank you for everything

Now hop onto the angels wing

My heart is torn in two

As I am going to miss you

And will never forget

My darling pet
