Dearest Bloggets. Sorry it’s been a while, thank you for all
your emails and messages. It’s just been extra busy here. I have had loads of
work to do re writing loads of emails and talk with people on the phone. I’m dealing
with a couple of organisations right now that quite frankly are doing my skull
in. I haven’t been in the house much of late. And life is still racing by and
sometimes I feel like I have to run hard to catch up then I feel as if I’m
miles ahead of the situation.
I’m dealing with the great news for my Husband of him
getting a promotion at his work. I’m so proud of him. Both my boys have done so
well but with promotion comes change.
Yesterday I started some Christmas shopping and found its
rather depressing now I don’t have my lovely friend Kinzie to buy for, it
leaves my heart empty. And of course, I am seeing so many things I know she
would have loved. We used to spoil her at Christmas as she did us three. She was
like our Mum our last parent who cared. I am shocked at just how upset my
Husband has been over our lovely lady. It really has affected him. Christmas
just won’t be the same this year without her. But the three of us will enjoy
the day itself. Though I am sure I will have tears for her.
I really don’t like this time of year. I have so many sad
anniversaries and now to add to it, it’s our Kinzie’s passing. It would have
been my Dads birthday in a few days and then in December lots of days for my
mum and both parents’ anniversary. I think if we didn’t have our Son, we would
go away for Christmas. I really can’t wait for the day when we have grandchildren.
But our Son isn’t keen on having children for many many years…. As he is our
only child, we will just have to wait.
I was saying yesterday to my Husband it’s been 21 years
since I held a baby. That was my Son when he was one. Then he was considered a toddler
shortly after that.
Our friends from school are coming on Saturday for the day.
That will be lovely having a catch up.
What interested me in our news?
Italy are going to make it compulsory in their schools, to
study climate change.
This is great I wish our schools also taught humanity and to
care for all animals.
In Finland a beach is covered in egg shaped ice, in a rare
weather phenomenon
I remember in some part of Russia on a beach, huge snowballs
were found formed from ice. Apparently, it’s the way the ice rolls through the
cold giving them that shape.
A fake rhino horn has been invented to ruin the poacher’s
market.
Great, I know where I would like to push that horn.
I was just reading about someone who was talking about cities
designed by women. What would they look like? What facilities would be in the cities?
How different would they be to the one’s men designed?
What would my perfect city be like? Lots of multi-story
carparks on the edge of the city. Free transport into the city. So, no cars. Where
you wait for your transport, nice warm bus shelters that are safe at nights
well lit and security camera’s. outside every shop, a microchip that goes to
your phone and reads what shop you are passing. No street furniture. No steps
but tactile ground where steps would be so that for people who are blind, they
know where they are as if you have a totally flat ground, it’s almost
impossible to know where you are. Around my local area, I know where I am by
steps the size of them and feel of them how different they are. So, I know when
to turn left for example.
Lamps on shops rather than those huge posts stuck at the
edge of the paths or worse, in the middle. Wide doors for prams/buggies/strollers
and wheelchairs. Inside shops, a flat rubber mat that leads people who are
blind to a customer service desk.
More police on our streets. More security in our train
stations. Metal detectors on all street corners to reduce knife crime. A ban on
all shops selling guns and knives. I can’t believe how easy it is to purchase
such things.
More green areas with seating so people can socialise. In the
gardens will be scented plants and a water feature for a peaceful sound.
I would like the shops to be in order. So, all the clothing
shops together and so on.
Nicer public toilets.
How would you, improve your city?
